Love my 917's I run PGT I was able to knock off 2.3 seconds per lap just with the tires. My one 917 is now well broken in and is an absolute rocket. I can drive it with confidence on any track. I Also changed the guide to Frankenslot. NICE VIDEO.

Great video Massimo, I’ve got several of these Carrera 917s and I’ve noticed that SUPER TIRES makes a great urethane that is nice and grippy and also very quiet
I recently got into slot cars and found your videos. Very informative and fun to watch! I had a quick question or 2. What program are you using for your car leaderboard? I would like to have a list similar to yours so I can try and tweak cars and show how they stack up against each other! Also what is the length of your track? Thank for all of the great info!

Its amazing what these 917K's were doing back in 1970 . Guys talk about doing 220+ mph in the rain. 50 some years ago. 12 cylinder, eventually twin turbo. The Carrera 917 here, the motor broke in now its a really fast car running on stock tires, my track's too tight for that to work very well. If I really concentrate it does good lap times. So I ordered another one in Gulf livery. I'm still seeing the Ortmann tires on another car working really, really well. Hard to come by.
Honestly Brad, these things were monsters! Just incredible worlds of art. Yeah it’s got a lot of juice on the straights, not sure how it’ll fair on a tight track, although cornering isn’t bad at all. Yeah a few of you are mentioning Ortmann Tires. I need to try locating a pair, very curious on those. Cheers Brad! ✌🏼
Great circuit. I personally run my D132 cars non magnet with medium to hard polyurethane rear tyres. Power set to ~30% and brakes to 10-20%. Much more realistic IMHO.
Hi Retro, thanks for sharing! Yeah the lower % on brakes really makes you have to drive the car, not to mentioned non mag. Good stuff man! Happy racing ✌🏼🏁

I use quick slicks on mine. Even in ghost mode it is ridiculously fast

Which tire truer do you use Mass?
Currently just a piece of sandpaper on the track 😅 works for now but I do what to buy a truer eventually.
