Sharpening For Woodturning: Ep 01 - The Bowl Gouge | How to sharpen

Sharpening a bowl gouge is one of the more challenging chisels to grind free hand but with the techniques shown in this video we can make the whole process a lot easier.
Using just a basic tool rest and a slightly modified grind we can sharpen everything from a traditional bowl gouge through to a more advanced side grind, that's right no fancy jigs!

Really fantastic approach, and refreshing for a TH-cam video to not just jump to recommending products. I’ve been doing my sharpening freehand but I’m by no means an expert. I’ll try this particular technique next time because I still struggle to get consistent results, or I’m worried I’m taking too much off each time.
