I needed this, having a hard time with consecutive cross open. I can only do two sure consecutive, i guess open cross is easier.. its been ten months now
Breaking down into the arm swings can really be what makes a difference if you haven't been able to get it. Please let me know how it goes after you've followed this video!
Seriously great video by the way, just finished it during my lunch break. Looks like a great next step now that I can do regular crossovers with both arms as the leading arm. Thanks to your crossover TuTORIal TH-cam video!
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope Currently working on beefing up my prerequisites for this one. At the present moment I can get 32 consecutive double-unders and 15 regular crossovers with my beaded TORQ rope. My Voltage ropes skills aren’t quite as good crossovers wise. (Low A/C voltage ⚡️lol 😂)So working on all of the pieces to put everything together.
I know how to do double under variations and I love ❤️🧡💙💛💚🤍🖤💜🤎 them along with regular double unders now I am trying to learn DU x but I have a question tori Do I have to use a long handle jump rope only or can I just stick with using a short handle jump rope like I am now?
You do not have to do long handles! I just highly recommend them because they offer more benefits than the shorter handles. Typically jumpers will learn this skill quicker with the longer handles.
Thanks, this was great! Questions: 1) I would like to know exactly where and how you hold the handle, and how you move your hand/wrist. 2) If you were doing these in CrossFit, how would you do them? (cross-open, open-cross, some hybrid) (alternating hand in front, same hand in front, some hybrid) For yourself, do you think that cross-open or open-cross is easier? 3) I would like to (also) see you doing these with an RPM rope. As that's what I have at the moment. 4) It's not for lack of trying or buying ropes, but I suck at DU's. You said to watch your double under video...but I can't find it?!! Update: Okay, I think that I found it on RPM's channel! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching! 1. I should make a video for this. You don't want to hold the handle to the point where you touch the rope, but too far the other direction and you lose control. 2. I prefer open-cross, though some people have cross-open better. Either way, pick one and don't switch it up - you want to become extremely efficient at the one you decide. 3. I love RPM ropes but I would not do this with an RPM rope. 4. Yay!
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope Tori, thanks so much for your answers! I checked out your website and I'm buying the Voltage (white) rope! I want and need all of the advantages haha, but I don't know why I would need/want to get the blue rope and the bead rope (combo)? I'm not seeing how the short handles (blue) or the extra weight/bulk (beaded) would help me! What I really need is to get at least decent at double unders, because sucking at them is REALLY killing my CrossFit Open standings!! Fast singles and crossovers are easy...but consistent DUs and stringing more than about 15 DUs (very often) seems to elude me. I'm actually coordinated and athletic...maybe my wrists are broken!?
Crossfit was counting the cross to uncross as well as uncross to cross. As long as 1 revolution in the double under was a cross and both revolutions did go around your body, that would be one completed one.
Does being overweight affect the learning curve of this skill? I can do DUs with relative ease and basic crossovers and I'm doing my best in implenting many DU cross techniques but I'm still struggling 😢. I'm still in about two months in the process of being able to do this but I'm wondering if my being overweight is the actual limiting factor here.
@@buenvidanadz1969 If you are able to do DUs and basic crosses, I would say no to weight being a factor. I would need to see your technique on those for more specific jump rope advice but usually it helps to revisit the basics and do the drills I’ve mentioned
It's possible... but sometimes I'll get a rope whip from it because the handles are genuinely not made for the direction changes I put on the rope. An athlete's equipment can be very important!
No offence to you Tori. I don't cast doubt on your skills, but no one does DUX like Floyd Mayweather. He's simply the best. Moreover, at 6:24, I noticed that you're cheating as you raise up your shins and your heels go back and up. Definitely not a perfect double under crossover. Cheers
This is by far the best video, Your jump rope helps out too. I've shared it with everyone looking to learn them!
Thank you so much!
Can't believe that a channel like this with more than 140 high quality videos and unique talent only have 30k subscribers
You are truly a legend 👏
I like the detail of also changing the dominant hand between each double under crossover. You're amazing Tori.
Love watching master tutorials. Gives me reminders on what to polish up on.
This is pure gold. I love how you explain every single detail of the technique
Thank you so much for watching!
Hands down one of the best tutorials I have ever watched. More please!
Thank you so much!
I love your very detailed video!!! Thank you for your time!

YES I was hoping you’d make a DUX video! This is exactly what I am working on, I just got 10 in a row for the first time recently!
Wow! Congrats! Keep up the great work
🔴 Absolutely well done and definitely keep it up for your achievements and everything else! 👍👏👍👏👍

It describe that in the video!
Can you do a ct tutorial
What is a ct
Good suggestion th u
I need a new tutorial, 'How to get rid of legs covered in whip marks'.
Oh dear!
WC in double unders, no idea that competition existed. Impressive no doubt.
What is the correct way to count a Double Under Crossover? Cross-Uncross or Uncross-Cross?

What happens if a profesional like you, uses the 'wrong' rope? Could you still do the tricks?

I've never seen a CrossFit athlete anywhere do a cross cross double under, and I've never seen it programmed anywhere.
It was in the 2022 CrossFit Games. Took everyone by surprise.
@@ToriBoggsJumpRope The cross cross wasn't required. Everyone did open cross or cross open.

no need for the intro 🤣🤣
haha thanks!
good tips but have tonsay the torq ropes are no good they break so easily!
