I seem to recall that this was going to be coming out on the Spectrum, there was a fairly glowing review of it in _Your Sinclair_ (I think it got in the 80-89º range - cannot remember now), and in an issue one or two months later my heart sank when I saw a report saying that the publisher decided not to release the game saying that they did not think it was good enough.
Fondly remembered - if only for the music. I played this on the Amiga and found it very sluggish and unresponsive, shame as it could have been a really good game!
Here's the themes that are used in this Amiga version: Theme I - Title screen Theme II - Intro & onto next level Theme III - Stage 1, 3, & 6 Theme IV - Stage 2, 5, 8 & Ending Theme V - Stage 4 & 7
Graphics are all there and the music is great, but it seriously lets down in the gameplay department...slow and sluggish; (although the swimming levels seem to be keeping up the pace nicely)...the C64 version is gameplay-wise much closer to the arcade, methinks... Thanx for posting this video ;)
I used to love this game, but i had it on tape, and every time you died you had to wait about 15 mins for it to load the level again. I can remember waiting there at my desk when i was 6 years old with baited breath watching the pixalated screen load it up. Ahhh how times have changed.
+flobbingdonkey I remember whilst loading a game on my C64 I would have a game already loaded into my 128k speccy, then I would start playing the C64 game whilst another game was be loaded into the speccy,...got sooo much more game playing in that way ;-)
Ahh, you came too late in the wonder years :-( I was 12 when I got my speccy in 1985 then couple years later I had savings and bought a C64c, upgraded to an ST which I sold a year later to by the greatest computer game machine ever,..the Amiga A500 :-D
Music was brilliant on this game. Always remember it in my head.
Tim and Geoff Follin did the soundtrack. No wonder it sounds so good.

I'm five years late with this, but it did come out for the Spectrum. I had it and there are playthrough videos on TH-cam

Kudos for letting the title track play. Great track
Unfortunately the amiga version suffered from unresponsive controls, sluggish gameplay, & questionable collision detection.

Haha, alas i was not fortunate enough for two computers. Then i discovered cartridges and thought it was a minor revelation.

Yep - i was 1 in 1985 :(
Shame, the golden GOLDEN gaming years, I was lucky to have been there :-D
BUT, my channel should help you enjoy them ;-)
Hey, at 15:08 i think i recognized Karnov in the role of the killer hat boss!
Damn I love this channel!
One of the best soundtracks on the good ole A500. Too bad the game played so bad... Unresponsive controls and terrible collision detection.
Yep gotta agree with the music, contains one of my favourite amiga tunes in it :-)
Its very slow, almost unplayable. The Arcade was probably quad cpu+z80 again.
But I loved the music :-)
Not as good as the c64
The C64 version is so much better, music including (except for the Title theme that is)
