English Gehrman is a prime example of top tier voice acting in video games. It's incredible the quality of the voices in this game. This and micolash are probably the best.
I thought Djura was great,but I really felt Gehrman's weakness and difficulty of speaking and his character was gotten across so well,and all the lines like"You're sure to be in a fine haze about now""just go out and kill a few beasts,it's for your own good"really caught the mood of the game so well and inspired these temporary sort of feelings of reassurance during the pain of bloodborne,but (to me anyway)they still had this feeling of falsehood,like poorly told lies that left much to be questioned and ultimately left this unsure feeling that something terrible or greater was at play. Didn't appreciate this for a while I must admit. Idk tho could be wrong
"Even the doll, should it please you" this tone of confidence is hilarious, the actor was probably thinking something not related to bloodborne at this moment.
He knows he's not talking about sex or anything silly like what it's suppose to sound like at face value. Gehrman is referring to using the doll to basically corrupt yourself with the power of the Moon Presence to transcent human power/limits.
Gehrman: Dear oh dear what was it? The Hunt or the dream? My Hunter: No Gehrman, it was you... You suffered long enough, i promise you tonight... YOU.WILL.BE.FREE!
You kidding me? German voice acting in Bloodborne is great. And this from someone that rarely plays games in german as the voice acting is generally very poor.
shoxboy Mir gefällt der deutsche Gehrman nicht und insgesamt die englische Synchro besser. Ja, im Vergleich zu manchen Spielen ist die deutsche Synchro okay. Aber sie ist einfach nicht auf dem Niveau der englischen Vertonung der Soulsborne Spiele. Gehrman insbesondere klingt absolut affektiert und nervig. Trotzdem finde ich es cool, dass Bloodborne anders als die anderen Spiele mehrere Synchros erhalten hat.
