    I use vinegar water and scrub brushes to clean this humidifier. I try to do it weekly. I don’t use distilled water, but I do add the demineralization cartridges and you can find them here: amzn.to/38xPeyc

    You have huge hands. That one handed grip. Pretty impressive!

    Thanks so much for this! I was only cleaning the bottom portion via the instruction book. I had no idea you could disassemble it like this! Game changer!!

      Did it return to mist just by cleaning the bottom portion?

    Thank you for posting these instructions. I was initially using a q-tip to clean the membrane because I was afraid to damage it. Then I saw that you were using a scrub brush. Once I changed to a scrub brush my unit worked beautifully

    Couldn't find my papers this came with so this was a huge help.

    Thanks for making this video. Word for the wise, be very careful when cleaning the detachable bottom portion that you twist off. I somehow got water inside of it. Currently have it in a bag of rice and hoping it dries by the morning. 😬

    Might be worth trying one of the silver cartridges in the tank to prevent bacteria/pink slime/etc? Many companies make them for humidifiers, as well as the demineralization ones you already had.
    Thanks for the video! Bothersome how you can never see how they'll have to come apart on the store websites. Some are definitely more well-designed when it comes to disassembly and cleaning!

      Yes smart i'll look into the silver. thank you!

    I had heard that using distilled water would prevent one from getting fungal pneumonia? I was wondering if you heard this and if the demineralizing cartridge helps prevent that from happening? Btw I am in love with your plants and think you are so incredibly crafty and talented! I put together an ikea cabinet almost a year ago but it’s not as nice as yours😊 I may need to do an upgrade and follow along with your setup video. 💜

    I bought mine through your link but it stops on me before 2 weeks is up. This is annoying as I am handicapped n need to wait till friends pop by. Thx for explaining how to clean it. My original one broke as the gold connectors burned 🤦🏽‍♀️ Still waiting on a replacement. They said 2-4 weeks so I bought myself another one while I wait. My plants need the humidity in the desert 🌵

    I bought this b/c of you! ❤ I just received it. Thx for all your tips! It only seems to work while at the Co (continuous) setting. Would this be because my room is 55%+ humidity? If so would it be bad for my plants if I leave it on Co? I hope you see this. I’m perplexed.

    • @houseplusplant
      @houseplusplant  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is because your room is already at or above 55%. I prefer to keep mine at 50% so it doesn’t run all the time. You can leave it on CO for sure, won’t hurt your plants as they prefer 80%+ humidity usually. Just watch for condensation buildup on windows as that can create mold problems

      Thanks! I just set mine up and it said "Co" but I couldn't find an explanation anywhere

    Hi, I’m looking to purchase this humidifier and I was wondering if it was a good choice? Do you still like it. I’ve seen mixed reviews about it so I’m not sure if it’s a good purchase?

    Homedics makes good humidifiers. So does Taotronics!

    Thanks for the cleaning tips. I’ve only had this humidifier for a few weeks and it’s not misting anymore? I’m seeing other reviews saying the same. Am I doing something wrong? Did you have the same issue before?

      Did you get the base wet? I unscrewed it like she did, and somehow still ended up getting water in it. I remove the two screws and have it in a bag of rice overnight. Hopefully it works in the morning.

    How do you remove the tank from the base. I need to see that part. I swear I’ve spent 20+ minutes trying to remove it. Nothing works: twisting, turning, lifting, pulling. 🥺

    • @triple_sec0
      @triple_sec0 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      aha! 😅 Figured it out: You put your hand inside the tank, grab the interior column, then pull up.
      Residual water will spill out, so do this at your sink or put a towel on the floor.
      I feel remarkably successful. 😊

    How did you get the cover off the mouth of the mist tube?

      Are you talking about where there’s a hinge? I just put my thumb into the part that hinges open and then pulled up. popped right off.
