THANK YOU so much to all of you who watch these videos! I take great pride in doing these ones, but unfortunately they tend to not be as algorithm friendly as news videos or class guides etc. So all of you who keep tuning in, much love. The Astarion png image in the thumbnail will let you know if a video is part of this particular series. I also just started a new playlist called "Lore Series Baldur's Gate 3" to help keep them nicely organized in one place. All of my older lore videos are still around but they are in the "Old Lore Videos" playlist. I hope to get a new vid out for this series every Sunday up to BG3's release. Cheers

PC gaming just isn't worth it for me. I want to do it but 1000$ dollar computer build with constantly having to update parts get virus protection keep it clean and buy a monitor on top of all that is just out of my budget.

If you don't gain anything by being contradictory to someone, don't say it. I had to learn it the difficult way, and my hopes are on you learning this too.

You forgot to mention that the expansion of Baldur's Gate 2 Shadows of Amn, "Throne of Bhaal" is set in between Tethyr and Calimshan, as the city Saradush is located in the northeastern border of Tethyr and Calimshan, as Saradush is located on the northeastern border on 9:42 north from the Forest of Mir, and Trademeet in Shadows of Amn is located northwest from The Wealdath and south from The Small Teeth mountains (on 9:32) on the crossroad with Murann to the west and Brost to the East. Also, on 10:04 there is Boareskyr Bridge, where Bhaal died during the Time of Troubles, you visit that location in Siege of Dragonspear on the way to Dragonspear Castle.

Thanks for such a great video! Very useful for refreshing our knowledge for new and old dnd fans. Glad you showed the territory of the Dragonborns. My Topaz and Amethyst characters hail from there. Toril is kinda like "superearth" size. At least bit bigger than our planet. Of course its plenty room for all kinds of races, species, monsters and dragons. Regarding latter far more for each true ( 4 limbs + wings ) dragon family than the 5 knoen of Chromatics, Gems and Metallics. Increase the roster to at least 10. Yellows, Oranges, Purples, Grays, Browns, Obsidians, Citrines, Jacinths, Jades, Opals, Steels, Mercuries, Oriums, Mithrals, Adamantines. Plus miscellanious types like Deeps, Moonstones, Irons. They arent rare in numbers, just rarer on the continent of Faerun. Maybe purposely hiding and/ or keeping to themself. Just look at the SIZE of Toril!!!

Ah, Forgotten Realms is the name of that whole planet scape, and much more actually (big part of the multiverse called Realmspace). So I guess I should say Toril instead. I tended to think Faerun was the only continent.

Glad you are enjoying it, I played BG1 when it was first released (Yes I am that old). There seems to be between two camps when it comes to BG1 and BG3, (Love or Hate.). I am on the love side, as I understand they are vastly different game, By different companies, decades apart. I let games stand on their own merits and not so nostalgic to dismiss them outright. I hope you enjoy BG3 just as much.

The way you can explain complex topics like thisone in a structured and easy to understand manner shows your mastery of the subject. Well done!
Question: Are there any books containing the DND history that was explained in this video that you could advice? Preferably ones that containt maps and gprahical elements like the ones shown in the video. Many thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I can't think of any books off the top of my head that contain a lot of visual elements apart from actual D&D source books.

I wish they would explain how places like Tymanther managed to fit on to an already generated land mass. Did other regions get pushed out the way to make space? Did the planet get bigger? Did it just land on top of a piece of occupied land killing everything that was there before? So many questions lol

As a HUGE fan of the legend of drizzit ( I know I spelled it wrong 😑) I am beyond stoked at the mention of Icewindale and drizzit. I bought BG3 last night on steam and figured I would watch your vids to catch up on more as I haven't played any and love the entire fantasy world of drow etc . I can't wait to get off work . Until then more of your vids !

Great lore video as usual man.

Thanks! Red wizards make their way into almost every D&D game, so I don't see any reason why they would not be in BG3 too (they are also referenced quite a lot). As for the lich king, well he is always seeking world domination lol.
