You’re judging these coasters, on morning rides not mid afternoon rides when it when it’s hot when the coasters are running faster storm chaser is the better of small or RMC‘s out there you rode it was running slow in the morning. Word. Of advice when you do Kings Dominion do not do twisted timber’s In mornings It’s sluggish in the morning. Just like storm chaser sluggish in the morning.
Went to this park back in the mid 90's. Back then they had a Vekoma SLC and the world's tallest stand-up coaster called Chang. A lot seems to have changed since then.
Dude holyshit, reading this was a blast from the past, they got rid of the SLC not too long ago like a 2 years or some maybe less, it was extremely rough and people were beginning to believe it was coming off the track on a certain loop
Those 2 were my first inversion coasters ever and I swear I had my eyes open for both (I sure didn't, but I know I was hooked), Kentucky Kingdom has one of my favorite rides ever and its not the biggest or baddest coaster at all but its the RMC coaster we have and its amazing mannn, that coaster made RMC my favorite coaster company
They dont even have lightning run anymore, I think the old car is still there(not the old model t thing, that is too) but the blue coaster they ride w/ no inversions the building they wait in is the same as lightning run, like the same one
I think that's a myth. There's no chance a plane would be flying under 1000 ft over the park and the tallest roller coaster in the world is just over 400ft. Besides, KK used to have the world's tallest stand-up coaster. They could definitely go bigger if they wanted to.
Storm Chaser is always an empty station, even on the busiest days, and they've made us go around every time this year (I've been 12 times this year). Same with Thunder Run and Kentucky Flyer. Go for late afternoon rides on their major coasters, they are a lot better and more warmed up, Stormy will leave bruises on my thighs later in the day. For the most forceful rows on each ride: Lightning Run: Row 10 (back) Thunder Run: Row 11 Kentucky Flyer: Row 6 (back) Storm Chaser: Row 2 if warmed up OR Row 12 if early in the day
Never been to this park, but it seems perfect for someone who, like me, is not a huge thrill seeker, doesn't like crowds, and doesnt get the opportunity to go to theme parks often. Would be cool to be able to walk on all of the rides. I wish this park was closer to me.
Hah! I was there in the morning at Storm Chaser! I can't believe they made us go all the way around even though nobody else was in line! And I agree, Storm Chaser feels small and tamer than some of the other RMCs.
Since they're owned by Herschend, which owns Silver Dollar City and Dollywood, they have a no reride policy. It's so dumb, especially if it's an empty station or if there's an empty row. Some parks allow you to do 2 rides and then you have to go around, but it also depends on which ride op you talk to.
Kentucky Kingdom is a family park with a long history. It even went to SBNO from 2010 to 2013. The park has been growing since 2014 when Six Flags left it to die and took a lot of stuff with them. Kentucky Kingdom was close to being demolished. I'm not saying your opinion is terrible, but in the future, research the park and see why it's lacking in some way. The park is excellent, and Lightning Run and Storm Chaser alone are why you must visit, but that's my opinion.
My home town’s amusement park. I’m not a big coaster fan but I know these aren’t the best and there isn’t a lot there. Definitely worth driving to holiday world or kings island in my opinion!
I don’t think you can fault a roller coaster for being short if it’s good it’s good. Especially if you rank Raven the second best coaster at Holiday world didn’t give this park fair shot just because a couple things didn’t go your way.
No shot he ranked Raven #2 lmao the only coasters it’s beating is the Holidog which is a kid coaster and Good Gravy which is a family coaster and to be honest if Good Gravy was longer it could probably be better. Raven is fun but it’s bottom at HW coasters 😂
@@CanadianGr3atness it is no where near more rough lmao they are both rough but those last few turns on the Raven are rib busters, but besides that I don’t rank how good a coaster is based on how rough it is anyway, that’s just a part of wooden coasters. Sure some are more smooth than others but they’re all a little rough. Legend is 1000% better, it’s longer, it’s faster and they put more effort into the theme than they did for the Raven. Bell in the station, wolf howling at the top of the hill. I’ve rode em both since I was a kid and I’ve probably rode them more times this year than I ever have before, Legend blows the Raven outta the water. Honestly they need to retire The Raven and bring in a new coaster they have space over the lake on the back end to fit something better
@@grind-hardtrashbaggang7083 I have ridden them both many many times. Legend when I first rode it was better but since it has been rough every single time I’ve set foot on it. The final brake run has given me whiplash numerous times. One time me and my buddy got off of it and had numerous bruises the next day. Better drop, more speed and better track layout for sure, but when a ride is that rough it’s flat out un enjoyable to me. It’s near the bottom of my coaster list, and will remain that way until the ride is better. I went last year and the wolf wasn’t howling so figured it was removed. I’ll be there next month though so maybe my opinion then will change. I’ve really enjoyed coasters some people don’t like and have hated some that some people seem to enjoy. All subjective.
I always thought a mini hyper like Lightning Run would go really well at Knoebels. Start by the Skloosh and out and back on the bottom edge of the parking lot. I feel like KK is still trying to get over the Six Flags era but it doesn't look like there's much character there.. like instead of a stream cutting through the park you have a road and there doesn't appear to be much tree cover, which kind of sucks when it's 95 out. Hopefully you guys aren't too sick to enjoy Kings Island... not looking good!
Seems like yall got unlucky. Storm chaser was running the purple train (which runs slower) and it had ride ops that made you go around. In my visits, if there was even one open seat in a row, they’d let me ride again. Roller Skater usually is only one lap, because usually that ride is swamped and they need to be quicker. It is weird how few people were at the park that day. I have been to KK on a saturday and even then Storm Chaser was a station wait. It seems like everyone flocks to the front of the park at Lightning Run and most of the crowds make their way back towards lunch
I do agree that Stormy's purple train is way slower. The ride operators this year have not allowed anybody to reride in my experience (I've been 12 times this year).
She was starting to get sick. Her cough was getting bad. When we left, we went back to the hotel. She took NyQuil & got some sleep. She started feeling better at Kings Island, but then I got sick (probably from her lol).
Unfortunately the summer flu is making its rounds. My daughter just finished it…temps of 102… and it was miserable for her. I hope she’s feeling better now. ❤
Sorry but this guy isn't a real enthusiast Kentucky kingdom is a good park. Y'all judging a park when y'all sick and tired. You tripping on Storm chaser like wildcats revenge is not that much better lest be honest
Hey Kentucky Kingdom's awesome. Try again when you aren't worn. It's worth it.
You guys always do great videos. Keep them coming. You guys are the best.

100%. You can’t judge an RMC in the morning. Storm Chaser is so much faster during the end of the day it’s insane.
While the gyroscopic camera is cool, I think it takes away from the “virtual” coaster experience. Let us feel the loops and twists too!

@@hxrle.y_8522 Wrong. Grezzed Lightn'ng was there before Lightning Run. They are two different coasters.
Ya'll should try Six Flags Great America; Gurnee, IL.
you know why the coasters are small? Because the park is right next to an airport and they are ordered to be below a certain height
I think that's a myth. There's no chance a plane would be flying under 1000 ft over the park and the tallest roller coaster in the world is just over 400ft. Besides, KK used to have the world's tallest stand-up coaster. They could definitely go bigger if they wanted to.
@@kotch35yeah the Ferris wheel is 150ft so the coasters can be at least that tall.
