Also letting them explore their interests and just being a person with all the resources is definitely unschooling.
That’s a great time to unschool is when your deschooling!

Haha that’s a good point. There’s def a big overlap between deschooling and unschooling!

My oldest (my stepdaughter) went to public school for kindergarten and only about a month of first grade. We deschooled her for about a month. Basically to retrain her what homeschooling is and it’s definitely different than public school like when we first started she would raise her hand to ask to go to the bathroom or to answer any questions. 🙁 she seemed upset and expecting to be bored and have to do whatever we tell her to do. Now she’s in the fourth grade and loves homeschooling because it’s a totally different world❤️❤️

That’s so great to hear! It is amazing how much behavior is trained into us by school. Like the raising hand for bathroom example you gave.

We ended up unschooling over the summer before starting homeschool in mid-August. We also did a lot of baking and art projects. We went on a lot of walks and my 8yo learned to ride a bike without training wheels. It was really nice to discover new interests and to allow some time to build excitement up for homeschool.

Love that! Yes we did much of the same. Also lots of screen time 😂 I just let them go nuts.

Thank you so much for these videos traveling with children and the homeschooling. I'm so happy I found your channel ☺️. Also what camera are you using in this video? I have a 9 yr old she's in 3rd grade we will be traveling for the first time and hopefully homeschooling too.

My friend daughter is vegan Homeschooling her kids.
I thought this was a joke. But found out later it's a real true type of homeschooling.
Were her kids learn all about being a vegetarian and Vegan they do gardening learn about herbs and how to use them in cooking and for medical purposes.
Their math comes from cooking, reading come from reading recipes.
They learn earth science and about bugs and bees.
Their learning agriculture, they still have to learn spelling and writing and geography and history of the United States.
And learn what other thing you buy that is vegan friendly to use like what soap, toothpaste, laundry soap. Vegan friendly clothes and shoes, shampoo, candles ECT.

Do you have plans to do a video on montessori homeschooling?

I'm new to all of this lol & thinking about homeschooling. This is probably a newbie question but, what happens if the child wants to play video games all day (during deschooling)?
