This describes our family! While we're based in DC, we plan to travel quite a bit over the year visiting family in Asia and S. America. The traditional school year calendar wouldn't have allowed us to travel as much. We're excited and nervous about the homeschooling/world schooling journey!

I started this year for the first time ever homeschooling my 7 and 11 yr old. My 11 yr. old has a learning disability so some subjects she better than others, and other subjects she's below her grade level. My 7 yr old is very active and is more advanced in certain subjects and at grade level in others. I have Adult A.D.D and I don't know exactly how to organize their homeschool schedule because there are so many subjects that NYC require. How do you do it without overwhelming yourself? Can you choose to do some subjects like music, and Art, etc. on certain days or are we required to do it all in 1 day? Please help!

This is the best explained video about morning baskets! We are religious, but we don't buy religious homeschool material. I had a hard time understanding what morning basket was because most videos include religious material, but this explained it so well for me!

I taught Chemistry for 26 years at the University level and took an early retirement package and this Fall 2023 I will start teaching in person high school. I had 18 videos I made in the pandemic for a Household Chemistry course asynchronous and uploaded them to TH-cam this month. Feel free to use them however you like, no math, just big picture for the consumer but gives a neat general/organic/biochemistry superficial review to understand everything from shampoo to environmental topics etc. Dr. Sinski www.youtube.com/@SinskiChemistry/videos

For someone criticising verbal/mental gymnastics, this video seemed to contain a lot of it. Teachers don't deserve respect based solely on their profession. Because of the way funding works, the public education system rewards the masses and suppresses the gifted. Public schooling IS the experiment, not homeschooling. Kids aren't meant to spend 8 hours per day sitting in a cement structure. It's ok to say this.

Hi! Thank you for making this content, all of this resonated with our family in some way. We are a multiracial family who plan to unschool/relaxed homeschool in order to get our kids into their community, country, and greater world more than kids typically get to be in traditional brick and mortar schools. We aren’t super well traveled either, so we will be experiencing a lot of this for the first time together with our kids. I have 2 boys age 3 and 1 and we just started seeking out a community of homeschoolers/unschoolers to learn from and socialize with. I’m loving the content on this channel so far! Can’t wait to see where your family goes with it.

My friend daughter is vegan Homeschooling her kids. I thought this was a joke. But found out later it's a real true type of homeschooling. Were her kids learn all about being a vegetarian and Vegan they do gardening learn about herbs and how to use them in cooking and for medical purposes. Their math comes from cooking, reading come from reading recipes. They learn earth science and about bugs and bees. Their learning agriculture, they still have to learn spelling and writing and geography and history of the United States. And learn what other thing you buy that is vegan friendly to use like what soap, toothpaste, laundry soap. Vegan friendly clothes and shoes, shampoo, candles ECT.

This is a very informative video, I'm kind of surprised it has so few views. Thank you for sharing! I'm considering homeschooling my second grade daughter because of some of the reasons mentioned in this video. Among those, however, what weights on me the most is definitely the lack educational resources that can be dedicated to her, one of 32 students in her so-call gifted and talented class. Due to the pandemic lockdown, she has improved so much more in all subjects because I got the chance to teach her myself. Her reading level has jumped from E to U in the course of one year. She is doing double digit divisions in her head and she can build a robot with cardboards and empty milk bottles. Now she's back to school, her teacher wanted her to take out a level L book from the library and she's back to doing double digit additions in math classes. Even in music class she's struggling, to find something interesting, as she has already learned all that the teacher was teaching!
