- Newsweek senior editor-at-large Josh Hammer says US Vice President Kamala Harris has "failed upwards" rather than advancing on "genuine merit".
"I just don't think she is someone with a very sound grasp on public policy; I don't think she understands the details of complicated domestic or foreign issues," Mr Hammer told Sky News host Gabriella Power.
"Yes, she has advanced steadily up the ladder in her career - I prefer to refer to that as failing upwards rather than advancing on genuine merit."
She does so.

The policy was initially ended by the Biden administration, and after some legal battles, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled on June 30, 2022, in Biden v. Texas, that the administration had the authority to end the policy. In December 2022, however, a federal judge blocked the Biden administration from ending the program. Remain in Mexico has been widely criticized by human rights organizations for exposing migrants to attacks while they awaited processing. So "Remain in Mexico border policy" by Trump never ended the issue was the separation of children from their parents. These people were not illegals they were seeking asylum. Those children were put in cages which was against human rights.
Remember it was trump who said he was going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it well it was a lie. There were several time the government was going to shut down due to the Republican Congress did not agree with President border policy, Ukraine and Twain ... so it was pushed back and the Democrats just made sure people kept their government programs like healthcare, ssi, retirement etc ...
It wasnt until Trump rallied Republicans early this year to block a $118 billion bipartisan Senate bill that tied border reforms to Ukraine aid. Biden, who backed the bill, insists his administration’s ability to stem illegal crossings is limited without new laws and resources from Congress. Still, the executive actions he’s taken in recent months have left the border quieter than at any point since he took office. During this block there were more immigrants crossed the border, it was then President Biden used teh executive order to close the border, the same when it was a bill the Republicans denied when they took over. Since that time border crossings been going down.
