I am 75, having worked since I was 19. I have been retired since 2012. Because the cost of living is so high, thank God I had a part-time job, but that closed down during the pandemic. Well... when I got my stimulus checks, I was so grateful to God and President Trump! I don't know why you didn't get a stimulus check; but I thought you qualified to receive one if you had filed your income taxes the previous year. That stimulus check kept food on my table..

Trump fixed this before. He brought down the cost of energy and brought industry and manufacturing back to the US. Every day expenses and interest rates went down and our wages stretched further. We actually got annual raises during that time because our companies were doing well. He knows how to do this. Our family thrived under Trump. When the business sector is healthy everyone benefits. When the political sector tries to make money for itself, the whole economy becomes sick. That's where we are right now.

Frankly, I was quite surprised by such a number of comments (both positive and negative, thanks to all), regarding the already iconic quote by M. Thatcher.
Personally, having lived in the USSR for half of my life, I no longer need to be convinced of the utopian model of socialism and the "charms" of universal equality under the leadership of one party and their KGB watchdogs. Perhaps it is worth recalling only a few facts. All socialist states sooner or later come to dictatorship, devastating economic poverty and eventually putting their best citizens on the altar of death.
I was also struck by the ignorance of the economic models of the Scandinavian ( Nordic) countries. Most importantly, the lack of understanding of why the USA can not implement their economy and way of life. There are quite a lot of academic works and researchers describing in detail the comparisons, both +/-, of the above-mentioned countries.
As a US citizen, I feel terribly offended for the new generation who so trustingly allow themselves to be fooled by politicians and the media, promising prosperity at the expense of others, and completely trust the state government to manage their own lives and success? Is this what makes Americans a strong nation? Is this what this country was created for?
And finally, if you are still having trouble deciding whom or whether to vote, let me give you another quote from a famous US president. Its simple common sense makes it a great way to think about elections. And yet, the answers are rarely simple.
