minor correction you are not actually given a difficulty chose when you start the game for the first time the game forces you to play on normal and only gives you easy mode when you die three times once you have easy mode unlocked then if you start a new game you get the choice
Awesome, I can agree that the story in DMC 5 could have been handled a little better, especially the dante/vergil relationship. My personal opinion is that all this time Dante has just given up trying to get him back on the "good side" and sees him as just "another" demon. Until he gets slapped in the face by Nero.
I mean, realistically, the last time he saw him was well over a decade, and Vergil just literally started yet another demon invasion for power. But at the end of it, when Vergil get's it through his head that Nero is his son, and not only that, his equal if not better in terms of power, Vergil concedes his loss to Dante by default, and together the brothers go to clean up his mess, which inadvertently brings Vergil closer to being good, even if the two still fight in the underworld, because it's the only thing they've ever really known how to do with each other.
I don't know if you know but dmc 3 is before dmc 1 and dmc 2, in dmc 1 is the real last time we see vergil again but he is finding strange the jump because he think the last time is dmc3 and then we jump to 5
true but dmc 5 was more about nero than dante and vergil. It was more of an conclusion to nero's story while at the same time tying in the last plot point of dmc 3-1. What ever happened to vergil after he became cavalire angelo and lost to dante in 1? question. The theme around family is still present. But dmc4 left alot to be desired for nero. Heck there is a ton of easter eggs in dmc4 basically showing that there was eventually gonna be a sequel.
never noticed this detail before, at 5:17 dante has the option of choosing between a slice of pizza or his gun in a room full of demons, and he picks the pizza lol
dmc5 is almost entirely about vergil and nero, dante takes more of a backseat role, vergil accepts his humanity and overcomes his nightmares and nero finally steps out of dantes shadow and proves he isnt dead weight
Well dmc has always been full of fan service, soo the dmc 5 story was just a natural thing to see. And I honestly don't mind it at all, I like cheesy stuff especially in 5 or 4
All the points of the video are spot on except the dmc5 story. Vergil grew, learned humility and a relaxed attitude through his experiences serving Mundus and his time as V

To put this in perspective, Devil may cry story in a nutshell is that a man who is addicted to pizza and attacks the enemy with a motorcycle sword has more depth than a YA novel. Dante is badass and earns it
Eh, I love his takes on the gameplay and his sense of humor, but he colossally didn’t understand anything about Vergil’s character development in DMCV. So much growth happened as V and he retained it when he became whole, he gave his son his most prized memento of his childhood, and he goes together with Dante to seal the portal at the end, after which they fight for fun, not to kill each other. That’s a massive increase in complexity for Vergil, and Broleg just writes it off as if none of Vergil’s crimes were addressed and that everyone just magically forgot what he did. They didn’t. Dante went with Vergil primarily to keep him on a leash. Nero doesn’t know HOW he feels about his father; he just knows he doesn’t want his only familial connections that he JUST discovered to be destroyed.
Devil May Cry 3 is most difficult game I have played. Lots of missions and lots of difficulties. And lots of puzzles. Devil May Cry 4 is like racing game. You start from one point and then return there at the end. Devil May Cry 5 is like an adventure movie with 3 players. Everyone has its' own perspectives. Devil May Cry 1 and 2 are somewhat similar games but I like Devil May Cry 2 though. The game had 2 characters and both had their own story gameplay.
Steal a soul for a second chance But you will never become a man If you die then you have to replay the whole mission and that's it It's even in the game's soundtrack
Please have my like sir. You are the first one I've seen who complimented the cutscenes background music for DMC3. The cutscenes music is so heavenly great and very underrated!!! Thanks for pointing this out.
Today, On god, i just got my platinum for DMC3 on piss yellow mode... And it only took me coupele of days and my sanity. The game was an absolute pleasure of mine back in the day, and in fact, i still have the save file for it on ps2... The last save dated as 2008 with over 50 hrs in it..😊
DMC3 was even harder on western versions of the PS2, on its original release. The "normal" difficulty was the japanese hard and the "easy" was the japanese normal.
I view DMC5's story as kind of like a reunion tour of sorts; it's less focused on telling a compelling story, and more focused on having all the classic characters back after so long.
I’m overseas for what’s basically Bible camp for 2 months and brought my switch and in a week I’ve beaten this game twice, and am going for a third with Vergil. This game fucks harder than my dad
I bought all the games for my birthday a few months ago and 3 is my favorite (I’ve only played a little bit of 3, and 1 but I’ve beaten 5 I plan on playing the other games) just from the intro to 3 it solidified it as my FAVORITE DMC
I love DMC5, but DMC3 just is better in basically every important area. Enemy design is good, combat is still very deep and rewarding, bosses are all really good, exploration was fun etc. It just goes on and on.
@YaBoiiUnclePhil V drags the game down really hard. It really sucks wanting to replay the game and having to skip the V missions because he's so incredibly unfun to play Dmcv is also incredibly linear, I like how dmc3 still had that bit of resident evil in it with how open ended the tower is for most of the game.
What a coincidence. I literally just bought the DMC HD collection to play the trilogy. What impeccable timing! Update: DMC1 Pogger (Singular) DMC2 DMC3 Perfection
I wish I could time travel and play this again for this first time because by far the best soundtrack, story and all-round DMC game for me. SO many good memories with this but also a very memorable game from plot to character development to level design, basically ticked all the boxes for me. That part at the start of M8 after Dante's first fight with Vergil, he awakens to his powers and straight after that cutscene where he runs down the side of the Temen-ni-gru shooting those bat demon things and the music is fucking ROCKING and then at the end, camera zoom out and BOOM Leviathan swallows him and the music fades perfectly hot-damn. What a moment.
12:43 I completely agree. Thousands upon thousands of humans killed and devoured by Vergil when he ate the Demon Fruit.... and none of them get justice because Dante and Nero quickly forgive Vergil and his childish rivalry.
Vergil wasn’t aware of the possibility that Urizen would kill so many people. Doesn’t excuse his actions but it doesn’t mean it’s entirely Vergils fault.
@@sliceofzura Vergil wanted more power no matter matter what it took. He intentionally split himself into two. Even his human side, V, seeks to get back to Urizen with ill intent cuz the very first thing he does when he's back to being Vergil... is to continue his childish rivalry with Dante. He basically has no regrets or issue with all the deaths caused by his plan. It's trivial to him. It's like he didn't learn anything from being V. Gaining more power just to fight Dante was always the plan.
@@ultraspinalki11 I think you kinda misunderstood it let me explain Dante doesn't really care that much about people that he has no connection with while yes it's his responsibility to protect the human world but remember he forced into it and doesn't like this job at all that's why he tells nero to take care of the human world in his absence so he can be free for some time and nero was also kinda upset that people were dying but it's more of a personal vendetta to him as vergil took the devil bringer and took yamato a weapon that dante trusted him to keep it but failed him but when he knew vergil insecurities and regrets he related to him(literally one of the developers said that if nero didn't meet credo and kyrie he will would have become vergil 2.0) so he understood he just a broken person he just gone wrong in his ways about coping about his problems This actually one of the reasons why dmc is one of my favorite series because they aren't doing and fighting because it's good or bad but more because of their personal conflicts, goals and vendettas
@@ultraspinalki11 also side note he did change he no longer fighting dante for proving a point or to kill him he just doing to enjoy it cause they always did this since they are children but it become more ill intent and beliefs conflicts after their mother death like but after dmc5 he become more chill and peaceful with himself like literally the first thing vergil does when v and urizen get merged together is get his book but dante immediately attacked him and with killing intent so while dante wants to fight vergil to as he said end him once and for all vergil will fight him only for enjoyment like in his childhood
Just remembered that time when finished the game 1st time starting high school, me saying "DMC 3 best game of all time", now 8 years later appreciating the game properly and seeing that childish opinion wasn't wrong at all kinda makes me happy, truly a masterpiece and a gem of this industry Also don't blame 5 Dante for wanting to kick Vergil ass, I mean just look all the mess he has done
The most awesome thing in dmc3 for me is how you can play as vergil but the level design is based on his view during Dante's campaign. You don't just change characters and play the same levels, like they did with dmc4 and dmc5.

@@plugshirt1762 Yeah, no. DMC1 is the best in the series. Other games are so ugly and just doesn't have style.
@@mdjey2 huh? It has the best atmosphere in the series but it barely has style compared to nearly every game bar 2

minor correction you are not actually given a difficulty chose when you start the game for the first time the game forces you to play on normal and only gives you easy mode when you die three times once you have easy mode unlocked then if you start a new game you get the choice

favorite youtube clip ever, hands down. nothing tops it
Awesome, I can agree that the story in DMC 5 could have been handled a little better, especially the dante/vergil relationship.
Heck there is a ton of easter eggs in dmc4 basically showing that there was eventually gonna be a sequel.
ot was 22 years to be exacg
I like how the last boss is just your brother trying to rob you.
"and we're supposed to be twins"
never noticed this detail before, at 5:17 dante has the option of choosing between a slice of pizza or his gun in a room full of demons, and he picks the pizza lol
My favourite part is when dante said "even the devil may cry when I'm done here". Truly one of the games of all time
i saw about 25 seconds, i am already a fan of this mans editing. sub% speedrun is now done 💀
Devil May Cry 3 is more than a game, it’s a life changing experience. I will never look at video games the same again.
The editing is literally top notch. BRAVO BRO, Its criminal how underrated you are.
CRAZY editing, this went so hard. Great video!!
2:07 that red orb looks like the masks in the music video of supermassive black hole lmfao
Dude that editing is worth gold. Fantastic job br0! XD
6:28 Dante chopping the table like it's a minecraft tree fucking killed me
The character V is the Silver the Hedgehog of Devil May Cry.
dmc5 is almost entirely about vergil and nero, dante takes more of a backseat role, vergil accepts his humanity and overcomes his nightmares and nero finally steps out of dantes shadow and proves he isnt dead weight
Well dmc has always been full of fan service, soo the dmc 5 story was just a natural thing to see. And I honestly don't mind it at all, I like cheesy stuff especially in 5 or 4
Dmc 3 ... my first game that i got as i was 12 ... thousands of hrs went into that game and I still play it 9 yrs later
I like how lady is pouring her heart out and Dantes just like WOOH! AHHA!
Lmfao that Thumbnail is fantastic man also this is my 3rd favorite game of all times
wtf, I beat the game multiple times and I never knew you could kill the Tape worm at 8:39 good video though br0leg
4:20 I come daily to rewatch that game intro, the edits are too funny.
DMC3 is the one of the best game I've ever played, music, gameplay and story just goes really well, I had best time while getting my ass kicked
All the points of the video are spot on except the dmc5 story. Vergil grew, learned humility and a relaxed attitude through his experiences serving Mundus and his time as V
Vergil actually developed in 5 and for some reason broleg didn’t like that. Weird.

THERE HE IS
You got sauce for 3:08
To put this in perspective, Devil may cry story in a nutshell is that a man who is addicted to pizza and attacks the enemy with a motorcycle sword has more depth than a YA novel. Dante is badass and earns it
Fun fact, when I played this game like an absolute slave years ago, it was on the PC with keyboard. I managed to reach Dante Must Die Difficulty.
6:57 got me pretty good was laughing for a solid 5 minutes dunno why it caught me off so bad but that was gold for me for some reason. 🤣
Man, Brolegs reviews have to be the most trustworthy on TH-cam.
This is a weird coincidence that you made this video cause I just got DMC 4 & 5 last week, also be safe broleg
I loved the small turtle at the beggining
X'D The edits during the Game Intro segment almost made me choke from how hard I was laughing.
Thank you so much, Br0leg!
I always wanted a dmc video like this. Thank you Br0leg
Oh hey it’s that game featuring Dante™ from the Devil May Cry™ series

I love the editing in the opening fight, a lot of care went into this and it is well.

Turning the intro into a literally ytp with those sounds effects was very nice
Fun fact: the reason Lady dresses more scantily clad in 4 is because of Trish (damnit Trish)

exquisite review my hermanopierna, you are truly the devil may cry 3
Vergil is motivated by lust for power, not anger and vengeance
5:46 this has to be the best editing in dmc3 fight scene
i just played dmc3 for the fist time and i gotta say the game and sound track make this game amazing to me
The editing and the memes are absolutely just on point.
I remember spending so much time playing Devil may cry 3 on my ps2
TYTY!!
As someone who plays games mostly based on quality memes.
i'm super psyched to start this one.
DMC 3 was the peak, add the style switcher mod on top and it slaps even harder
Omg i love the way you brought Victor Miktor into a DMC video

Mission 19 will always be the bane of my existence
Honestly as much as I love 3
I’d still say 5 is the best
Absolutely love that game
this gigachad level of editing is the content i strive for
Man I really love that melee/range combinations, really need more games with that style
I’m overseas for what’s basically Bible camp for 2 months and brought my switch and in a week I’ve beaten this game twice, and am going for a third with Vergil. This game fucks harder than my dad
0:02 I want to sub this guy already
I bought all the games for my birthday a few months ago and 3 is my favorite (I’ve only played a little bit of 3, and 1 but I’ve beaten 5 I plan on playing the other games) just from the intro to 3 it solidified it as my FAVORITE DMC
I love DMC5, but DMC3 just is better in basically every important area. Enemy design is good, combat is still very deep and rewarding, bosses are all really good, exploration was fun etc. It just goes on and on.
@YaBoiiUnclePhil V drags the game down really hard. It really sucks wanting to replay the game and having to skip the V missions because he's so incredibly unfun to play
Dmcv is also incredibly linear, I like how dmc3 still had that bit of resident evil in it with how open ended the tower is for most of the game.
@yaboiiunclephil1552of course you have to pull the “nostalgia” card you do know people can have different opinions right?
my first devil may cry game was dmc : devil may cry , i was fascinated by how the game looked and played
What a coincidence. I literally just bought the DMC HD collection to play the trilogy. What impeccable timing!
Update:
DMC1 Pogger (Singular)
DMC2
DMC3 Perfection
I bought it yesterday and I too, will just played the first and the third game

I used to play at Gold mode, but after watching this awesome video, i changed to yellow to prove im a chad just as br0leg, and it worked

I completely agree.
@@ultraspinalki11 actually he did learn after being V, but the game does not give any details. Vision of V tells better about V development.
@@ultraspinalki11 I think you kinda misunderstood it let me explain
Dante doesn't really care that much about people that he has no connection with while yes it's his responsibility to protect the human world but remember he forced into it and doesn't like this job at all that's why he tells nero to take care of the human world in his absence so he can be free for some time and nero was also kinda upset that people were dying but it's more of a personal vendetta to him as vergil took the devil bringer and took yamato a weapon that dante trusted him to keep it but failed him but when he knew vergil insecurities and regrets he related to him(literally one of the developers said that if nero didn't meet credo and kyrie he will would have become vergil 2.0) so he understood he just a broken person he just gone wrong in his ways about coping about his problems
This actually one of the reasons why dmc is one of my favorite series because they aren't doing and fighting because it's good or bad but more because of their personal conflicts, goals and vendettas
@@ultraspinalki11 also side note he did change he no longer fighting dante for proving a point or to kill him he just doing to enjoy it cause they always did this since they are children but it become more ill intent and beliefs conflicts after their mother death like but after dmc5 he become more chill and peaceful with himself like literally the first thing vergil does when v and urizen get merged together is get his book but dante immediately attacked him and with killing intent so while dante wants to fight vergil to as he said end him once and for all vergil will fight him only for enjoyment like in his childhood
the sheer concentration of memes in the opening has forced me to subscribe without my will or consent
Just remembered that time when finished the game 1st time starting high school, me saying "DMC 3 best game of all time", now 8 years later appreciating the game properly and seeing that childish opinion wasn't wrong at all kinda makes me happy, truly a masterpiece and a gem of this industry
Also don't blame 5 Dante for wanting to kick Vergil ass, I mean just look all the mess he has done
Your edit's and jokes gained my respect, which isn't much but you still gain +1 respect
how the hell can you hate V? he's the freshest addition to the francjise yet! and his play style is so fun and different, yet still feels like DMC!
@YaBoiiUnclePhil ok, i can see that
Agreed! and your editing and humor is masterful! Great job!
DMC1 is the only game in the series I cared. Art style, atmosphere and music, I love it.
The most awesome thing in dmc3 for me is how you can play as vergil but the level design is based on his view during Dante's campaign. You don't just change characters and play the same levels, like they did with dmc4 and dmc5.
No, it's like that in 3 as well
