Are you from India . I once visited and I saw no houses just apartment building . Although I saw some house but they were barely big enough to fit one car inside the driveway area. People of India live in apartments. Yeah and I also saw some big homes with huge gardens but you could tell those homes were owned by the super rich in a particular area and there were Ferraris parked inside . So yeah
Matt, I love your channel because you have an extremely practical outlook on fitness that focuses on getting fitness done. Thank you for always creating fantastic content that people like me can use anytime, anywhere.
This has got to be one of the best fitness channels out there!! I mean, this guy has debunked many myths, and encourages us to try these things that we can do at home.
The beautiful thing about calisthenics is the near infinite number of exercises which all compliment each other as full body movement patterns. If you get stuck on your pull ups, try to improve your inverted rows. If you get stuck on your handstand, try improving your shoulder mobility by working on your ROM on skin the cat. I always try not only to improve the exercises I'm currently doing, but expand my routine with new exercises. Each new exercise is a challenge which strengthens weak links in other exercises. Something as simple as support walk on parallel bars can be challenging at first. That means there is some weak link not being addressed with other exercises. Improving that weak link then carries over to other to improving other exercises.
I was thinking of doing a pull up bar that fits over a horizontal support beam, but this is easier and also more challenging when being used. Still gotta make a pair of handles for a deck balcony dip station though.....though I suppose with enough length I can just do dips from these too.
@@RedDeltaProject I'll keep that one in mind but the height and location of where I'd be using this one isn't a good match for the suspension trainer. The "deployability" of this one is more useful 😄
Great tips, Matt, at 0.14 sec you show door pullups. My question is, since the legs can't move forward (because of the door in front), does it make door pullups more difficult and therefore more effective than BAR pullups where the legs can move forward?
All I did was cut about a three foot section of 3/4" rope and wrapped some tape on the ends to prevent fraying. No knots to tie, no handles to cut - just throw it over a branch and work the back and grip simultaneously.
I actually did a similar project to this. Homemade gymnastic rings using 1/2” electrical PVC bell-end elbow pipes and polyester electrical cable pull tape. Aside from the required materials which are so cheap and easy to obtain, cementing the pipes together is a MUST. Otherwise you’ll fall on your ass with the ring-shaped pipes coming apart. Edit: I mostly use this for body rows since the PVC parallette I made doesn’t give me enough elbow room.
RedDeltaProject Hey who needs to buy exercise equipment when you can actually find out how to make them yourself? Just gotta reinforce them in the right places.
I made a suspension strap and it was awesome but didn't smoothen the edges enough and it cut through the strap slowly, gonna make a new one before it breaks. Can you tell me the specifics of the pvc pipe you used?
it's like home made trx. doing pull ups with trx will get you injured. because you're not stable and you're flying. and it will injure your shoulder in long term
Look up prussik knots. Tie the first handle as shown, second handle on its own short piece of rope and use a prussik or other sliding knot to attach to the first rope.
I could be remembering wrong but years ago I think some guy went on the joe rogan podcast and showed some similar tool he made from rope and handles, but i think it somehow allowed him to work the same muscles as a pull-up without even needing to do real pull-ups or hang from anything. He would just use it standing in his hotel room for instance. Assuming my memory isn’t out of whack, anyone know which podcast I’m thinking of so we could find that thing?
My solution was just throwing my jiujitsu belt over a beam in the garage. Not only can I progress my pullup game, but I'm also strengthening my grip, by simply holding on to the belt instead of wrapping it around my hands, which was my weak spot in jiu When we're back on the tatami, my mates won't know what hit them :D
Also a great way to go! I've used bed sheets for similar applications in the past. Works like a charm for the grip and shoulder stability. Belt are easier to pack though for sure.
I need to grow a tree

how long is the tree now🙂
@@jacksonmississippi3857 so you visited India and found only apartments??? 😂 Either you wasted your trip or your observing skill is way low.

I appreciate that! I also like how you phrased getting fitness done. Very well put

This is so simple and effective and cheap it’s genius

Such great point here! There's far more functional overlap from various exercises for sure.
@ienjoyapples Beautifully put.
It’s true…
It’s true…
The most innovative idea that I came across...! The knot mechanism just gives you the freedom to use one rope for pull ups and rows... Brilliant...!
Marvelous solution for my rack without neutral bar for pull-ups. Many thanks
Really great to wake up to one of your videos, gonna solve my problem of doing pull ups on the ledge!
Thanks!
You're more than welcome Sparky!
Thanks man, that is nice. Nothing better than the good old DIY.
Diy, fitness and knots. Very nice
I love it! Basic yet awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I'm definitely making these asap. Thanks Matt!
GREAT IDEA
THANK YOU!!! Great idea. Exactly what I was looking for!!! 😊
Thank you this free of cost idea 👍🏻❤️
Thanks uncle
Thank you so much

Sure, but if you're looking for something a bit more versatile I recommend this other DIY option:

Fantastic, I will make one for my 3 months road trip coming up...big thanks bro
Thank you really, I didn't expect that branch to hold human weight, trees are awesome
thank you sir
Most welcome!

RDP is the gift that keeps on giving! I need this for dat neutral grip!
Hey Matt, where did you buy the backpack that you are using in the video to hold the 45 lb disc?
Also want to know

Great idea! I travel a lot, (or did before covid), and couldn’t always find a good place to do pull ups.
FANTASTIC, MAN!!
Thanks a lot!
this is gud for close pullbar .but what about extended pull ups sir. wide pull ups sir ?
Didn't really consider that. Personally, I've pretty much given up doing anything wider than shoulder width in most upper body exercises for a while.

Love the creativity Nicholas!
RedDeltaProject Hey who needs to buy exercise equipment when you can actually find out how to make them yourself? Just gotta reinforce them in the right places.
would this be comparable to a straight bar for building muscle? is stability an issue? never tried it
"I don't have equipeent", great video for those people :D
I made a suspension strap and it was awesome but didn't smoothen the edges enough and it cut through the strap slowly, gonna make a new one before it breaks. Can you tell me the specifics of the pvc pipe you used?
I use a 1-inch diameter pipe and the handles are typically 5.5 inches in length.
Will these work for pushing too? e.g. dips
Great idea!!
You just saved me hundreds of dollars which is good considering if I'm just a few 20s left over after expenses each month.
I'm gonna do this for the power rack I built in my garage.
Nice, would love to see pics if you get a chance over on the RDP instagram @red.delta.project
Can you tell what kind of rope again ? By the way great video like all ways.
I believe that's a 6mm climbing or utility rope that I bought at a climbing store, like REI
❤️❤️ really to good
thought it was johny 😅. great content mate. im gonna try this idea of yours. thank you
Nice idea brother 😊☺😄
Many many thanks
Even Olympic rings are good

Freaking based, man.

🤣🤣😂
It would be cool if we could use it to do pull ups with the door anchor
Hey Matt, where'd you get the rope? I want to make sure I get something that doesn't break!
Would this work?: www.strapworks.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=WSR%2DCNR%2DPRC%2D000&CartID=1
Strapworks.com. You can get any length you like.

On the contrary, that instability will help prevent injury.
What about the handles that you can move one of them? I like that ones more!

I think so, might depend on which country you're in
Thank you very much! This is really, really useful :).

This shot is freakin beautiful. It makes me wanna train there with you, Matt. Such a cool spot!
Yea, that's a small park right across the street from where I live. Great place to workout. If you're ever in the Denver area hit me up!
@@RedDeltaProject Thank you! That sounds great. I'll absolutely hit you up when the opportunity presents itself.
I can finally stop skipping pull ups!
Boom
Totally Tubular!
I didn't knew that Johnny sins was also a TH-camr
Actually johny sins does have a youtube channel.
I just bought exercise rings
I use a pair of chain instead of rope 😅
Bro i invented these already.
I just wrapped it around multiple times over the support you hang it higher instead of adjusting the rope.
Nice !
rings
Awesome, but wouldn't it be better to pay $79.99 for a product that does exactly the same thing?
I'm scared if that rope got cut off, Ya know Earth's gravity 9.807 m/s² is going after your butt then Boom. Wasted
Get a helmet for muscleups
The way he was holding the blade while putting the groove cuts scares me
