Hi, I'm a rock climber and let me tell you one thing, don't have rope-on-rope, @4:36 you essentially made a saw, all you need to do is make a overhand knot in your rope cord and put that through the door. Or a carabiner. Doing it through the webbing and then sawing like that will cause friction. Friction + weight = failure.

That's amazing, I was just planning to make suspension trainer myself and was going to check your old diy videos which I remember watching some time ago for inspiration. I like this new version, some great ideas and improvements, thanks Matt!

This is amazing. I also like to mention because I do most of my workouts using resistance bands that the door anchor idea was really fascinating. But also because I like to do my workouts outside, can you make a video on DIY anchoring system for resistance bands as soon?

Since Matt's prusik suspension trainer I've thought just some anchor points for rope on one or two walls, + rope + prusiks + bands could work for near infinite anchor location adjust. Haven't tried it, though.

This is great! Your approach and valuable info has inspired me to just go back to basics and do calisthenics exclusively. Thanks Matt!

Glad you like them Federico. Still working on how to make something like this strap-based but that's proving to be much more difficult with the hardware. Hopefully something will pan out before I release the new book

@@RedDeltaProject Well, in the past I took a strap from a gymnastic rings set and add a tube in the middle, maybe it's not the best option, but worked for me for a long time. It's much lighter and transportable than the actual rings.

Very clever. I might just make this. Cheaper than gymnastic rings.

For a 5-6MM rope, a Ronstan Series 30 pulley would be plenty safe. And smooth as butter. RF35100 ball bearing pulley is rated for up to 8mm rope with a 660 lb max working load and a 1,320 lb breaking load. Cost about $20-25.

I have a question about the handle, in a previous video you mentioned the prussic knot to make it easy to slide up and down the handles. Is it still a good option or your current video choice, the bowline knot, is better?
