Konami knows now they can get away with printed blatant broken cards because peoppe will just keep eating it up year after year, just look at 6 month tearalament format last year
They were, it's just that there were other broken synchro 8s and 10s And snake eye diabellstar getting them access to rank 8s while being an extremely powerful extender is also quite strong, their boards now are stronger than what the synchro stuff could make, at least against monster and spell based decks

It used to be that the majority of the playerbase didn’t understand tier 0 because there simply weren’t enough of them that we had references for decks trending in that direction. Seems like it’s a lot easier for people to discern what tier 0 means since there have been, what, 4 in the past 7 years? Kinda crazy. I’m all for pushing designs to feel powerful because players like to play powerful cards, but it seems like these designs are intentionally pushing the powercreep as far and as fast as possible, as a feature rather than a mistake.
Yeah bu-bu-but Savage and Linkuriboh were good hits. They were Snake Eye hits they said. Those bans were gonna somewhat lower their power level they said. Give LEDE a chance to enter the format before you overreact they said. Tenpai would take some of their spots they said. How many more excuses are people gonna come up with? Come on folks, lemme hear some new ones. I'll wait...
Yeah the coping for the last banlist was laughable. Now people are forced to complain about the engine issues instead of generic negates and floodgates.
I mean the stuff about the banlist and lede is true The 3 generic hits are good for the game in the long run, and tenpai was able to have similar representation to snake eye at many nationals It's just that snake eye now with snake eye diabellstar being a rank 8 enabler makes even stronger boards than synchro snake eye, unless you're a trap deck, which is why lab did so well
@@andrejv.2834 I disagree. I don't believe generic cards that boost mostly rogue decks were the problem. The top complaint I hear of generic negates is lack of counter play. But I've noticed that counter play hasn't really improved because top decks almost always have the ability to play through most disruptions and take multiple cards to get broken. There are no silver bullets. Not to mention removing cards that any deck can play removes the amount of viable decks therefore creating environments more friendly for tier 0 formats. I'm just more disappointed that people actively defend konami banning cards purely for monetary reasons because they were mad Baronne de Fleur negated their evenly matched. No one can really explain why it's "better" for the long run other than counter play which hasn't improved in my opinion.
@@Woarkeswat it's better because it makes it so that not every deck ends on baronne and/or savage, that's why people also wanted apo banned as another generic negate monster, that's why shs was disliked as a deck that just ended on baronne + apo, after the tier 0 deck is gone these hits will actually help with more diversity and counter play, especially with endboards
The design philosophy needs to change, and decks needs more engine requirements so we don't end up playing decks with 15+ handtraps every format. Also, love this style of video, really enjoyed hearing your take on it
I can see a banlist happening around the nawcq. The new set releases just before it and a bunch of new powerful strategies as well as an opportunity to make the player base buy a lot of it if so
Wanted to 1 might be the only consistency hit that would make a difference unless they limited pretty much every starter in the deck Banning either Flamberge or field spell would do a lot with Flamberge being the more severe, and banning OSS would prevent them from adding in other engines to compensate for other hits This feels similar to the kashtira problem where every card is so independently powerful that all of them feel like they're worthy of a hit
A banlist is needed, but for the people that think this is somehow the worst format ever, please watch History of Yu-Gi-Oh, this is not even close to certain formats.
The best thing about indy was the fact a few of us yubel plyers made day 2 and one even won on stream. Our deck has a strong snake eyes match up , but just like any deck if you dont open muliple hand traps snake eyes is winning 9/10 if they go 1st. We def need an E banlist , flamberge needs to get banned imo
You sir I applaud. That is one of the based takes ever, but you're not wrong. I would also like to add restricting the design of potential generic, versatile, and/or utilizable engines as they basically are also ruining the design of the game. They are going to ruin a certain cards' future from ever being used in non-degenerate/non-toxic ways. Not that there are certain cards that needs to get hit anyway as they are only being able to be used and abused for degenerate/toxic ways but for Sinful Spoils in particular, these individual cards are designed in such a unique sense (for the most part) that deserves respect and be applied in cool aspects of gameplay. Unbalanced, powerful designed decks like Snake-Eyes only comes in to ruin what was cool about their design. Konami needs to start using their brains a lot more and actually not only restrict of handtrap usage but also restrict moreso the design of potential foreseeing engines from past and future deck themes. These philosophies need to be standard moving forward if they ever want this game to heal.
I didn't play Gouki or Firewall format so I can't speak for them, but Tear was waaaaay more interesting than SE is. SE is just slinging hand traps until someone can do their one singular linear combo. Every SE game I've played in Master Duel has felt almost exactly the same. No two Tear games feel the same.
@@otangakudyokeman7124this is a pretty decent take actually, like previous tier 0 formats were spyral getting like 90% representation and zoo getting 100% at one point Tear never went above 80 and was usually around 50, while snake eye just hit their peak at 68 and is also usually around 50 There were some atrocious formats lol, but I think snake eye could've at least gotten some consistency hits, they would've still been the best, but not by so much
Only card I care about seeing gone is OSS. I LIKE the Sinful Spoils package, what I DON'T like is how stupidly easy Snake-Eye packages can use it for both extension and recovery. Especially with cards like Snake-Eye Diabellstar and Dramatic Snake-Eye Chase, it's really not easy for anyone to justify OSS to be legal anymore.
The fact we get fiendsmith right before U.S. nationals means the deck will only get better, so Konami needs to address this. I’ve been playing snake eye since poplar was printed, and have been so bored playing yugioh. The handtrap mini game is toxic af.
People are trying to figure out which Snake eyes card is the main problem. I suggest something a little bit different. Ban every single snake eyes card in the game
this is also a case to say hand traps need to actually be addressed. how can decks actually have 12,15,18 over half your deck all kinds of hand traps? snake eyes need the hit but hand traps need to be hit as well to start moving towards diversity in deck building
Here’s what they do to correctly hit this deck Ash to 2 Diablestar to 2 Wanted spell to 1 Bonfire to 1 Poplar to 1 And maybe Flamberge to 1 Here’s all this does: Instead of having 3 diabell star and 3 wanted you have 1 wanted and 2 diabellstar, reducing it from 6 to 3 copies Bonfire to 1 because it’s basically ROTA and some other spell cards of that type that are just busted but not too good and should all be put at 1 Poplar to 1 because it makes it so that if you draw poplar it sort of a brick but still good Bc you won’t be able to search it cause up you drew it Ash to 2 because that card is just insane and honestly be limited but that seems harsh considering all the other hits I propose And finally flamberge to 1 because I just hate this deck more than tier zero tearlaments. Honestly these are all really good hits in my opinion but reply and tell me your opinions.
Pretty sure it's just time for a banlist. While I liked the last banlist, that engine really needs to get hit; I am hoping for a Poplar or Original ban, but we will see. Tired of this crazy hand trap format. A card I can see getting hit is I:P considering how that card has been consistently part of endboards, further abuses Flamberge, and is just such a strong form of interruption with S:P.
Flamberge and apo to 0, wanted to 1 or 0, depends how much you hate this overall. The deck needs small aspects hit, poplar is another option but it got princess the same time it got poplar, so the overall impact is detable. IMO flamberge and apo gone and the deck changes drastically and isn't T0 anymore
@Bob12649 they are champ. Go play some matches with consistency hits and then try play without flamberge, you have to change the entire way you build that deck for it to still work, and it isn't t0
Personally I think Master Duel did a good job with hitting Snake-Eyes by limiting both WANTED and Ash to 1 and it's something we should do over in the TCG
Watch it end up like tear, 6 cards limited and 3 banned. The out of archetype ban already happened with linkuriboh, but honestly flame princess needs to go to.
Ehhh? Please don't compare that shit to Tear. Nearly 3/4 of the Tear core is on the banlist and it's still quite playable. If you ban either one of Ash, Poplar or Flameberg (Even Oak will have a great impact), The deck will be even less playable than current banlist Tear smh
@@_Sasuke_99 Tear only continues to exist because they limited the problem cards and made it a someone fair deck. They also happen to synergize very will with already existing strategies for sending to the grave by effect. The deck would still be completely playable under the same treatment. We should not repeat 3 to 4 lists worth of direct hits to finally bring the deck down a peg. Just solve the problem. Ban Ash, I:P Masq, and Original Sinful Spoils. Limit Wanted, Diabellestar, and Bonfire. You can unban the unnecessarily banned linkuriboh in the process and even keep flame princess even though the card does way to much. The deck will still be completely playable. The sinful engine won't be as abusable in other fire decks. Just putting Ash and Poplar to 1 doesn't solve the problem the deck is currently and the solution to it should not be an even more powerful deck or every deck getting a poplar.
Banning OSS unties Snakes from Sinful package drastically reducing their ability to play through disruption as well as 1 card combos, meaning they would need to run a bigger engine/ Limiting Poplar would turn it into a "soft brick", then also limiting Flam would make floating on both turns more unreliable + hurt the rank 8 play + banishing removal on Flam would severely damage their followup. I believe last list should have limited both, but with SnAsh getting an Ulti I don't think they'll get hit. Meanwhile about Tear all I can say is that my Master Duel experience is enough to say 1 Kit in our banlist ends the entire snake eye career (there they have 1 planet, 1 kit, 1 kash tear, 1 sulliek, 1 havnis, 2 scheiren, 0 merrli)
@@scott898586 Kitkallos is banned which is the equivalent of banning Flameberg. Now imagine if you do that with Snake-Eyes. It will literally be Unplayable. What is your strategy gonna be? I:P Turbo? @@babrad If Konami bans OSS, I say they should also limit Snake-Eyes Ash or Poplar. Maybe even Bonfire, But Bonfire is highly priced and Ash is getting an ulti reprint as you mentioned. But aside from that, If Konami bans OSS, They really should limit Ash or Bonfire, And also should limit Hydrant for R-Ace
I said it before and I will say it again, ban Original Sinful Spoils. Disconnect the WANTED engine from Snake-Eyes so that Ash becomes the only 1 card starter of the deck and have the deck rely more on 2 card combos. It removed the synchro line and it also reduces their extenders, making them more vulnerable to hand traps. Every other Snake-Eyes card can remain at 3 easily when you ban OSS.
The game is always going to have a powerful, dominating deck in an era. I don't think they should do anything until after nationals season. Like if they kill this deck by limiting shit, something else will take it's place. A dominate deck is a good thing. Learn it's lines of play, develop counters, and its least favorable match up. People who complain are never good enough to win anyway
People who complain are probably want to pick their favorite decks and play the game, not to being forced to either play snake-eyes-oh or lose. It has nothing to do with being a bad player.
How is one supposed to counter a deck with 20+ non engine that's able to play perfect counters against every other tiered deck because of it's room for non engine?
Ban Original Sinful Spoils and then you eliminate 5 one card starters. That is the single hit that must happen. OCG and Master Duel got it wrong limiting Wanted.
Snake Eye will be banned and after that the next insane deck will show up and the circle goes on. But now players start quitting YGO because they're sick of this. This game is dying and it's only Komoney's fault

That doesn't really help, because if they release a new deck that is at the same power level as snake eye, then after snake eye is meaningfully hit, that other deck would just take their place as the next, at this point, tier 0 deck They tried unbanning some cards, but it turns out that giving a deck a single power card back, while they're still missing 3-4 other power cards (or like 11 in the case of danger thunder) isn't enough to realistically compete with what is one of the strongest decks ever that's basically unhit now when snake eye diabellstar makes the deck entirely move on from the synchro stuff and makes a more powerful board than what the synchro stuff ever could
They did this and Kashtira took over as tier 0. Maybe if we stopped printing cards that need to be banned almost as soon as they are printed, this wouldn't be an issue.

@@alpha34098 Like I said in the other post, OCG Konami has made a balanced Maxx "C" in INFO (Infinite Forbidden) or in the next set after as I do not remember what set it was revealed in. That could more than likely mean they are planning to ban Maxx "C" in their banlist soon in the near future. Look that card up in YGOrg. I happen to remember the archetype name being Mulitchummy. This could also mean the archetype will be full of handtraps that are of, more likely to be hit and/or banned, past/previous overplayed and/or problematic handtraps but more balanced and limited to use in activations.
Konami knows now they can get away with printed blatant broken cards because peoppe will just keep eating it up year after year, just look at 6 month tearalament format last year
Man, I'm so glad the banlist directly addressed the Snake-Eye problem. 😀
Savage Dragon, Linkkuriboh & Baronne werent the problematic cards in Snake Eye? Who could expect that?
Right, literally EVERYONE 😂
Still good hits in the end. Though I miss Linkuriboh, poor guy was protecting the Snake Eyes monsters and got gunned down by Konami 😭
They were, it's just that there were other broken synchro 8s and 10s
And snake eye diabellstar getting them access to rank 8s while being an extremely powerful extender is also quite strong, their boards now are stronger than what the synchro stuff could make, at least against monster and spell based decks
@@Flame082lil guy was a problem since it got printed, I remember synchro eldlich having a 1 card combo by normal summoning and linking off jet synchron. Getting any level 1 in the grave by a link 1 is a lil stupid
@@andrejv.2834They don't even play Synchros anymore because of the new Snake Eyes Diabellstar letting them acces Rank 8s now like Hope Harbringer . Plus ANY competent player could have told that hitting the Synchros would never actually matter as the deck already saw success as a Link only strategy too (Jet Synchron is a brick too as well), the core problem is the engine it's too powerful even if you hit Apo and I:P the engine would still be too strong and dominant the deck has to be hit directly for anything to change.
@@yveslumiere9432 yeah exactly, that's why I mentioned their current boards being even stronger than those baronne/savage ones against most decks
We are on a Tier 0 format
It used to be that the majority of the playerbase didn’t understand tier 0 because there simply weren’t enough of them that we had references for decks trending in that direction. Seems like it’s a lot easier for people to discern what tier 0 means since there have been, what, 4 in the past 7 years? Kinda crazy. I’m all for pushing designs to feel powerful because players like to play powerful cards, but it seems like these designs are intentionally pushing the powercreep as far and as fast as possible, as a feature rather than a mistake.
21/32
have you ever heard about the tragedy of Nekroz full power format?
Is it possible to learn this power?
Yeah bu-bu-but Savage and Linkuriboh were good hits. They were Snake Eye hits they said. Those bans were gonna somewhat lower their power level they said. Give LEDE a chance to enter the format before you overreact they said. Tenpai would take some of their spots they said. How many more excuses are people gonna come up with? Come on folks, lemme hear some new ones. I'll wait...
Yeah the coping for the last banlist was laughable. Now people are forced to complain about the engine issues instead of generic negates and floodgates.
I mean the stuff about the banlist and lede is true
The 3 generic hits are good for the game in the long run, and tenpai was able to have similar representation to snake eye at many nationals
It's just that snake eye now with snake eye diabellstar being a rank 8 enabler makes even stronger boards than synchro snake eye, unless you're a trap deck, which is why lab did so well
The banlist was good until the part they forgot to hit the snake-eye engine (which pretty much everyone was calling at that point)
Also, love this style of video, really enjoyed hearing your take on it
Snake-eyes is a little boring to watch, but after 4 month I'm dying here. The zealatins otk i have it engraved in my mind.

This guy always say "Fala Galeeeera!" and it's amazing player 😂
I can see a banlist happening around the nawcq. The new set releases just before it and a bunch of new powerful strategies as well as an opportunity to make the player base buy a lot of it if so
Wanted to 1 might be the only consistency hit that would make a difference unless they limited pretty much every starter in the deck
Banning either Flamberge or field spell would do a lot with Flamberge being the more severe, and banning OSS would prevent them from adding in other engines to compensate for other hits
This feels similar to the kashtira problem where every card is so independently powerful that all of them feel like they're worthy of a hit
I’m so sick of tier 0 formats it’s either you play that specific deck or you lose there’s no diversity anymore
Yeah they need to look back at TOSS format and craft three or four equally competitive decks to ensure some format diversity
A banlist is needed, but for the people that think this is somehow the worst format ever, please watch History of Yu-Gi-Oh, this is not even close to certain formats.
Id rather play Summon Sorc Firewall Format than SE
The best thing about indy was the fact a few of us yubel plyers made day 2 and one even won on stream. Our deck has a strong snake eyes match up , but just like any deck if you dont open muliple hand traps snake eyes is winning 9/10 if they go 1st. We def need an E banlist , flamberge needs to get banned imo
Yes. Ban flamberge
The way to hit snake 👀
Is to limit snake 👀 flamberge
So you can't use oak to summon the 2nd flamberge from the deck or hand
But it’s still good at one
@@Bob12649 AT 1 you can't do the little funny 1st turn combo with oak that allows you to put masquerena on your spell and Trap zone

@@jvsonic2468 thank you and I agree with wat you said. one card combo giving a lot of pluses PLUS handtraps to back you up ..
@@otangakudyokeman7124this is a pretty decent take actually, like previous tier 0 formats were spyral getting like 90% representation and zoo getting 100% at one point
Tear never went above 80 and was usually around 50, while snake eye just hit their peak at 68 and is also usually around 50
There were some atrocious formats lol, but I think snake eye could've at least gotten some consistency hits, they would've still been the best, but not by so much
@@andrejv.2834 exactly
I’m guessing we might get one once the new infernoid stuff comes in the next set
Need it before Friday have nationals on Saturday.
Ban every single snake eyes card in the game
the joke about Lab being the issue in the top 8 is brilliant (and as a huge hater of trap decks i agree xD)
Ban Flamberge.
🎯
Ban I:P, that solves the Flamberge problem and stops I:P from being a problem in other decks going forward
Ban flamberge, I:P and appo
There needs to be a new master rule.
Lithium making a modern discussion video definitely makes this an issue 😂
this is also a case to say hand traps need to actually be addressed. how can decks actually have 12,15,18 over half your deck all kinds of hand traps? snake eyes need the hit but hand traps need to be hit as well to start moving towards diversity in deck building
¿A dónde vamos a parar?
Deck wont get hit until october after the tins are sold.
Gotta cash in the reprints.
Asi que la ban se llevo a linkuribo y savage para... q exactamente?
Basicamente nada
Here’s what they do to correctly hit this deck
Ash to 2
Diablestar to 2
Wanted spell to 1
Bonfire to 1
Poplar to 1
And maybe Flamberge to 1
Here’s all this does:
Instead of having 3 diabell star and 3 wanted you have 1 wanted and 2 diabellstar, reducing it from 6 to 3 copies
Bonfire to 1 because it’s basically ROTA and some other spell cards of that type that are just busted but not too good and should all be put at 1
Poplar to 1 because it makes it so that if you draw poplar it sort of a brick but still good Bc you won’t be able to search it cause up you drew it
Ash to 2 because that card is just insane and honestly be limited but that seems harsh considering all the other hits I propose
And finally flamberge to 1 because I just hate this deck more than tier zero tearlaments.
Honestly these are all really good hits in my opinion but reply and tell me your opinions.
The problem card is orignal sinful spoils and poplar
I think they’ll take the tear approach and unban more archetypal cards than hit snakeye
Personally I would like to see OSS or poplar banned. Both cards give the deck insane extension and the follow up.
Those are not the problem cards
@Bob12649 they are champ. Go play some matches with consistency hits and then try play without flamberge, you have to change the entire way you build that deck for it to still work, and it isn't t0
Personally I think Master Duel did a good job with hitting Snake-Eyes by limiting both WANTED and Ash to 1 and it's something we should do over in the TCG
(Now) you want it?
Banning OSS unties Snakes from Sinful package drastically reducing their ability to play through disruption as well as 1 card combos, meaning they would need to run a bigger engine/
Limiting Poplar would turn it into a "soft brick", then also limiting Flam would make floating on both turns more unreliable + hurt the rank 8 play + banishing removal on Flam would severely damage their followup.
I:P Turbo? Princess Turbo? Now imagine that Tear has MAAAANY other hits and it's still so playable. That's why please don't compare the two. Tear is on a whole different level
Princess has to go 100%
The game is always going to have a powerful, dominating deck in an era.

That doesn't really help, because if they release a new deck that is at the same power level as snake eye, then after snake eye is meaningfully hit, that other deck would just take their place as the next, at this point, tier 0 deck
They tried unbanning some cards, but it turns out that giving a deck a single power card back, while they're still missing 3-4 other power cards (or like 11 in the case of danger thunder) isn't enough to realistically compete with what is one of the strongest decks ever that's basically unhit now when snake eye diabellstar makes the deck entirely move on from the synchro stuff and makes a more powerful board than what the synchro stuff ever could
They did this and Kashtira took over as tier 0. Maybe if we stopped printing cards that need to be banned almost as soon as they are printed, this wouldn't be an issue.
