  • Hi guys!!
    I forgot to mention this in the video but I used DK weight yarn, and unfortunately I don't know the exact amount of yarn I used as I just bought 2 500g balls of acrylic and used them, but if I were to guess I would say I used about 70g of white and 200g-250g of green!
    Enjoy this tutorial!! Any questions obvs just leave them below and I will try my best to answer ♡
    if you recreate my patterns please credit me by mentioning my youtube channel/tagging my instagram @crochetgal100. If you are selling items you created using my videos, you must credit me by crediting my youtube channel/tagging my instagram @crochetgal100. thanks guysssss

    After having made two vests with different types of yarn, here are some tips I’d like to share:
    I strongly recommend while crocheting the first piece to count your rows, and maybe even the stitches so you can make the second piece identical to the first one.
    I’ve had to redo my rows on the 2nd one several times because of small inaccuracies in the rows/ stitches that caused obvious differences when sewing both pieces together at the end (and yes I did measure it like she did but it still didn’t help).
    I also recommend yarn with thickness number 4.5 and under, I tried it with chunkier yarn and it came out bulky and small so I’ll probably try soaking it with softener and try stretching it out. I also used a size 5 hook and that goes great with yarn sizes 3-4.5.
    If you mix yarn with different thicknesses, try adjusting the stitch (and row) number to make the final piece look consistent in width.

    Honestly I say this out of frustration and gratitude
    Thank you so much for putting the measurements as per the inches of it and not just the number of stitches. As a person who loves to crochet I can’t afford this type of thick yarn so I have to make do with what I have which is thinner yarn and obviously that makes a difference with the number of stitches. Whenever I watch tutorials they just say the number of stitches and not the actual measurement in inches and it makes me feel like giving up more than half the time and I feel like I can’t really learn it
    So thank you
    It may seem small and insignificant but it’s big and very much significant to me

    Hey! Love this pattern, thank you for sharing your creativity with us, Emma :) I love your style so so much!! This video was super easy to follow!
    I just wanted to share how I used this pattern in case anyone was wondering about alterations/different yarns. I used a (cheap!) worsted weight acrylic because I didn’t have any DK weight. I used a 200g ball that is 354yards for the main colour. It was just the perfect amount for the size I made, but definitely not any extra to spare. I just used a scrap ball of white acrylic, maybe 15-20 grams or so (sorry I don’t know the exact yards but its not very much!). I used a 5.5m crochet hook to keep the nice drape of the vest.
    I also decreased the band measurement (the white ribbing) to 17 in. I normally wear a size XS to S in shirts and I’m a 34B bra size (good to know bust circumference wise! :P) . This made it still slightly oversized but a bit closer to the body for me.
    Hope this helps anyone :)

    Hello all! I have completed my very own sweater vest with this tutorial. ^^ Just want to post a comment here to update everyone and my own future reference.
    Some changes that I (accidentally) made:
    - For the white ribbing, I accidentally done 20 inches instead of 19.5 inches.
    - For the collar, I done 1 row of hdc, 1 row of sc and 1 row of hdc all in white. I did not switch colours.
    - For the arm hole, I done 1 row of hdc and 1 row of sc all in white. The video only showed 1 row of hdc.
    All in all, I used:
    - 200g of mint green yarn (with some leftovers)
    - 50g of white yarn (with some leftovers)
    My yarn is Cotton Soft DK (4ply version of 🐄 Brand).

      @@emmapcrochet I'm a bit confused because I have a different technique for the hdc. When I'm doing the decreases for the neckline, should the stitch count drop one or two stitches? (e.g. if I started with 20 stitches on that row, should I have 19 or 18 on the next one?)

    • @emmapcrochet
      @emmapcrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! If you decrease the stitch count drops by 1! So if you had 20 stitches and then decreased 2 stitches together you will have 19 stitches x

    omg I'm obsessed with this! Do u know what the width of one side would be?

    • @emmapcrochet
      @emmapcrochet  3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      The width should be 19.5 inches for the main body part and when you go in for the arm holes the width should be about 13.5 inches before you add the trim! After the trim for the arm holes it will be 14.5 inches! And thank you so much!!

      :::san::: :::fran::: Hi! I am 5ft 6 inches, so you may have to shorten it a bit! Also I would reccomond making it narrower overall as well if you are an xs! You can make the whole thing narrower by maybe doing like 15/16 inches of ribbing instead of 19.5 like I did xx

Bit confused at the start where you chain one after doing a row of front loop crochets cos when I tried that the piece just kept growing outwards lol. So decided not to chain one each row and seems to be okay. Very excited to keep going, this looks lovely 😍
