More again, please.. I'm so excited to watching ANteve 90s.. Especially in the past, ANteve has also rebroadcast MTV Asia broadcasts and I want to watch it again.
2:48 Wow, so now you have three copies of the same Doublemint gum ad - Indonesian, Pinoy, and American. LOL. Thank you for the upload!! Never heard of this channel before (Indosiar lang kasi ang kilala kong Indonesian channel), akala ko tuloy nung una obscure Pinoy channel sya like Citynet 27 😅
ANTV is mostly airing foreign content mostly American seires and Gameshows. Parang Studio 23 of Indonesia. But sometime few of the programs are slightly scramble due to copyright restriction of selected US program ang ginawa nila na unlock nila ang analog receiver using the decorder parang Star Movies ang peg.
I though there would be some rare promos but turned just one here, nonetheless there are highlights in this video : - The same bumper at the beginning can be seen here : th-cam.com/video/-PWQx-djG94/w-d-xo.html. The logo itself was introduced in February 1994, when they debuted as a local TV station in the Sumatran city of Lampung, the SID had different logo : th-cam.com/video/a_4rw4ZwCnk/w-d-xo.html. - The station imaginery really towards youth and mostly upper market audiences (New Year's special promo, for example), which unfortunately they can't catch with then three general stations (RCTI, SCTV, TPI [now MNCTV) just as I said before in this video as well as then-upcoming Indosiar which debuted in January 1995 and targeting general programming. - Lipton Ice Tea bottles are somewhat rare, perhaps due to targeting upper market demographic. - Wrigley's Double Mint commercial material seems to be sourced from its neighboring countries (Malaysia or Thailand) dubbed into Indonesian for the market. - Aqua mineral water were later acquired by Danone in 1998. Once again, thanks for uploading in this video. Would know that what being called "filler channels" in PH through local cable TV in the 90s can share the memories from neighboring country.
Ah, you've got some recording from my country finally. Speaking of the station, they still being as a youth-focused station mainly music (as they would aired MTV Indonesia a year later in 1995 and some Nickelodeon programming) and sports (they are, for many years, were the official broadcaster of first division of Indonesian football league for many years (IDK the last time their last season broadcast)). Once the 1997-98 monetary crisis hit the country, they got some financial struggles and had to reduced its broadcast hours to just 14 hrs from previous 21-22 hrs a day before 1998. Not surprisingly, its ratings were the last among then-5 private TV stations (RCTI, SCTV, and Indosiar were dominated the ratings, followed by TPI (now MNCTV)).
But TPI was still an educational channel back then, right? It's normal to be beaten by other strong stations, but being beated by an educational channel and be dead last was surreal. Anyways, they were the home to a lot of Indian series which became popular in Indonesia. They even became the top-rating network in 2017, if I am not mistaken. They're struggling now for some reason, even beaten by Mentari TV, which is a sister channel of SCTV. I guess children's programming is quite popular in Indonesia?
@@emerdaletan children's programming is a "big deal" for Indonesian Television especially after the analog switch off which benefits separated channel by categories in one MUX
@@emerdaletan TPI had already mixed some educational and general programming when they still in TVRI frequencies, in particular the Indian series Mahabharata, which influenced the station in the later years (hence after they got own frequencies, these educational programming were slowly began to phased out in favor of programming which focused to the lower income audiences, mostly Indian series movies but also programming which focused to the dangdut music and some sinetrons (although there are some programs targeted to middle to high income audiences too, they did aired Dawson's Creek for once). These educational programming were eventually gone by the time they change its station image to Televisi Keluarga Indonesia with its The Family Channel logo rip-off). For the second paragraph, it's mostly not just their stagnant performance in their programming, their coverage after digital TV transition in November 2022 also affected its ratings. RCTI, owned by MNC Media and once a rating leader in analog days also its rating down to 4th or 5th place, beaten by SCTV and Indosiar (both owned by Emtek through SCM, they also owned Moji (formerly local Jakarta station O Channel before changing to present name in 2022 to reflect its digital nationwide coverage) and Mentari TV) but also by RCTI's sister channel MNCTV (current name for TPI, they changed in 2010 which according to MNC to improve the station perception but also then-ongoing ownership dispute as well) thanks to Upin & Ipin (currently airing three times a day, RCTI also aired the show as well but only at weekend mornings) and Family 100 (Indonesian version of Family Feud, it was debuted on Anteve in 90s) as well as Trans7 (formerly TV7 and was owned by Kompas Gramedia before sold its majority stake to Trans Corp in 2006 and changed to present name in that year) also thanks to its strong primetime lineup. And of course, children programming was popular in our country.
Back when i was a kid in 2000s watching ANTV was airing Cartoons (like Scooby-Doo, Zoids, Transformers, Woody Woodpeckers, etc.), local Family Feud adaptation and National Football Competition. Now it just airing mostly Reruns of Indian Soap + Movies because currently struggled in Ratings.
In my hometown, our local cable operator had SCTV, Indosiar, RCTI and TVRI in their lineup but that was late 90s to early 2000s. I can remember during elementary school days, I was even watching some of their programs like the Indonesian dub of Teletubbies🤣, some Hollywood movies with Indonesian subtitles, and even highlights of their infamous sinetrons when I was channel surfing.
Anteve was transmitting their broadcast via Indonesian Palapa satellites to Southeast Asia, either the satellite 'Palapa B2P' (where most of the Star TV Channels were transmitted to), or the satellite 'Palapa B2R' which RCTI (a private TV station from Indonesia), ABS-CBN and GMA (from the Philippines) were transmitting their broadcasts to, in the 90s. That's why SKY Cable Philippines could get Anteve, alongside TVRI and RCTI too (three of them are Indonesian TV channels). These advertisements are super rare, except for the Wrigley's and Tropicool ads I've seen on TH-cam before. Salamat for the upload, bro.
These vintage Indonesian commercials give me good and relaxing vibes. But while watching that Aqua commercial, that really reminds me of a content creator with a username *supercoolben* who portrays as "Bobby Saputra" a rich "professional son" who claims to be the son of the owner of Aqua. 😂🤣 Of course, it's just a satire. ❤ Godspeed ulit po! 🙇♀️
My sibs recorded so many of the foreign channels back in the day, lol. I even have like 6 tapes from Thailand channels mostly of tpop - Tata Young (before the whole sexy gimmick), X3 Super Gang, Myria Benedetti, UHT, that I unfortunately don't have anymore.
