The real William Hung retired from his music career in 2011 and worked at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as a data analyst. Though some have argued that his fame had racial undertones as the public took a shine to him out of mockery due to the Asian stereotypes he exhibited, Hung himself never had any regrets about his stint with making what amounted to novelty songs.
