    I’ve put about 500 miles on this setup now without any apparent issues. However, if you’re looking for an intake for your Saab 9-3, I would definitely still recommended do88!

    “The only purpose you gain from doing this mod is the looks” Yeah, that and getting rid of that awful accordion hose that is HIGHLY prone to invisible cracks and mysterious unmetered air issues.

      the company sells like 7different colors.. including red, yellow, green, purple and BLACK. i got black. btw... not just the accordion. the plastic where it contacts the turbo gets brittle and fails too

    The 2003-2004 intake box has the extension for SAI pump, they usually create CEL when they fail so best is to cancel it as hardware and software!

    So Jake, I finally got around to do this and ordered the one Cyd recommends. Way stiffer than the one you installed.
    The nipple for the hose that leads BPC valve. That fits for 4mm hoses. The 5mm which, I believe is the stock hose dimension is a tad bit large, thus, the workaround to clamp it.
    I can not speak for the Do88 version whether its 4mm or 5mm for that nipple.
    Peace! Hopefully, I can be at the '24 SOC and chat with you.

  • @MassiveTrackHunter

    Very cool. Gonna look into that.
    Might be a good idea to check it after an hour or two of driving to see how the material is holding up to the heat where it is clamped to the turbo inlet. If it is not melting or deforming, that would be awesome.
    If it can handle the AZ heat, it should be good anwhere better than Death Valley. XD

    i had the same issue with the fitting for the vacuum line. i complained to them. they offered a discount of 10%. i countered 20% bc it would probabky cost me more than 10% to get an appropriate fitting or hose clamps. they said the tube they supplied (4mm) was correct but it obviously isnt/wasnt as it moved in and out easily. i got a 3/16"bardbed nipple and it was snug in both the intake tube and the vacuum line and i didnt need two hose clams

    I am wondering if you had ever heard, encountered or experience the following issue : Recently, my Saab mechanic told me that there is a small problem but it would be a big problem later .... He found that there is some gel came out of the connection port between battery terminal and the cables and I need to replace the terminals ASAP ! If not, the battery might not received charges from alternator while the alternator keeps on running to charge the battery. This will damage the alternator later on, thus resulting a costly replacement of alternator ! Moreover, it is difficult to find the + & - terminals ONLY, as it usually comes with cables that are not cheap !

    Hmm, interesting. I was thinking, where does the B207's vent their crankcase ventilation? One the B235 and B205 it vents right before the turbo. I'm not sure about the pipe you plugged, but looking at the turbo and seeing some oil residue I would think that this maybe is the crankcase ventilation? Now, I'm not a big B207 fan so don't take my word for it but in my head I would think that the blocked hose is the crankcase ventilation?

    • @AutoAutopsy

      are you referring to the one I plugged? if so, that's for the SAI

    • @redwireprod
      @redwireprod 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crankcase vent is on the top of the valve cover, passenger side rear. The hose goes directly to the intake side of the compressor. The hose he plugged comes from a pump near the front of the engine which is not on any other model year, or any other Saab engine to my knowledge. Probably right about the oil though, the 207s are PIGS.

    • @georgieboi2001
      @georgieboi2001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@redwireprod Positive Crankcase ventilation valve is located inside the intake manifold. You need to remove the manifold to replace it. Odd design and a hassle to replace.

    I absolutely hate those cheap annoying hose clamps that you have to “squeeze” with a set of pliers, why can’t you just put real hose clamps with a screw.
    I change the Turbo control valve on my S60 and noticed the hoses where all dry rotted and falling apart to decide to change them too, change two of the and the came the one on the Turbo which i had to get to underneath the car and wouldn’t you know the clamps was turned to it was extremely har to get to, and the i started to fight it with my pliers and the it slipped to where I can’t get to it, so i gave up, when that hose fails I’m cutting it of the car.

      Same here I'm a ebay buyer. I bought my front mount intercooler which made an improvement in air flow and cooler air temp also I bought a knockoff Greddy blow off valve kit that mounts right on the turbo which was made for a Hyundai Genesis and according to reviews/TH-cam videos they said it won't work or it's a piece of 💩 but idk cuz for me it works perfect and it's loud oh and for those of you who wonders if it works for automatics yes it does my 9-3 is an automatic and the bov works in both D or manual mode also don't listen to anyone that says bov loses boost 🤣 cuz it don't my car still runs and feels the same as when I had the diverter valve only difference is I'm not recirculating hot air and whenever I build boost then lift off the throttle my car goes PHOOSH!. Sorry for such a long comment but imo ebay products does the job just like any other products out there.

      @@MrFlotillla It depends on the front mount dimensions mines is 27x7x2.5 and the stock intercooler im sure it was something like 16x20x1.5 which both intercoolers actually has pretty close air volume capacity. As for the upgraded Do88 intercooler it's a little bigger than stock and much thicker which has more volume than my front mount. But in the end the reason I went with a front mount only because the stock would soak heat from the radiator and it was another object besides the a/c condenser that was blocking air from passing thru the radiator.
