Hi Trottie!! One question. Your Accra shaft on the driver, compares to what Ventus shaft? I see you play Ventus blue on your 3 wood, so I am curious to know, why you didn't put in play a Ventus on your driver? Thanks!!!!
@@joseenriques5791 tipping will help how the shaft performs spin wise but could also make it play firmer too...then dependent on how you react as a player that could promote a face yes. Not sure on direct comparison as I believe the torque is different between the two
For the comparison this is where you'd have to play about with tipping the red more or less with the blue. Bottom line if you like Accra then play the Accra opposed to trying to find the equivalent in something else.

Trottie I noticed the wear pattern on that old rocket ball three wood of yours was a little toe of center, I was the same way with my old tour model m2, why is that? I’ve recently replaced it with another brand and it’s coming dead out of the center on it. The thing is even though it wasn’t out the center with the old Taylor made, I hit it great.
Honestly I don’t know the swing weight of either club but over all weight of my new three wood is slightly heavier. They are the same length @@trottiegolf
QUESTION… you mentioned you hot melt weight in the driver into the toe for the slight fade. Why not just move the sliding weight to the toe? It seems it has that feature on that driver?
Trottie, have you ever tested the TPT and Paderson shafts? I guess you don't find them everywhere like the Fujikura, Accra, KBS, Hzrdus etc but they are well known on the Long Drive circuit. I tested a TPT earlier this year (not in long drive spec though) and could not believe how good it felt. For me a small distance gain was nice but that wasn't the selling point, it was the massive gains in dispersion and consistency of spin rate. I'd love to know your opinion on those shafts.
Love the setup Trottie. I understand KBS is your iron shaft of choice for obvious reasons, I’m curious of your thoughts on graphite iron shafts and did you give them a go during your fitting?
I actually hit Micah Morris' Fuji's the other day..... SOOOOO STIFF! .... but shows graphite has come on a long ways. Personally I still love steel, maybe I'm becoming old school 🤣
Agreed. Also not a fan of TM tip adapters. The fact you have to spin the shaft to get a different setting is pretty inconvenient. The Callaway and Titleist tips, for example, keep the shaft in the same position regardless of the setting you adjust to, which I much prefer
The stealth 2 fairway is by far my favorite fairway wood. Traded in my rogue st max for one and the results have been spectacular. The stock shafts aren’t bad either
Honing? You mean puring or flow? I think it's a personal thing. I've personally seen the GOAT do it so it can't be completely off the scale..... if he's doing it then we have to pay attention. Check out this vid as I mention the process in here: th-cam.com/video/yjS_vdAKRSc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Trottie!! One question. In the past, I was playing another brand with the Ventus Blue Tr 6X and loved it, however, now that I play the Stealth 2 plus driver, I have 3 shafts. The Ventus Red Tr 6x (felt to me very soft in the tip) have the Ventus Blue 6x, the Ventus Tr blue 6x and the new graphite design CQ X flex. From all of them, now I feel better with the GD CQ than the others. I feel that I hit lower ball flight with the ventus, and cant go from 9* to 8* to open face to hit my fade, cause of the launch. Bought weights for the front (10g & 20g) have 15g at the back. How does this changes if I play more weight at the front rather than the back? lower the spin down? I like hitting fades but don't want to sacrifice distance. My fw finder is graphite design CQ X flex at standard 9* and natural fade but I know I am loosing 20 to 25 yds of distance. any thoughts? Please your help! why? I know a lot of questions but want to understand more.
You need to start with more loft and turn it down , so 10.5 on lower , then the spin won’t be down as you’re be delivering more dynamic loft. At that stage you put heavier weights in the front if you want to knock spin off (as you elude to). Sounds like you’re close but test a higher starting loft 👍🏻
Hey Trottie, The $ taper in your irons are 120 stiff right? Apologies if I missed this. Wondering your opinion, I play AMT white s300s in my irons. 8 (127 basically 130), 9, and PW play at 130 grams and then each club under drops 3 grams. I hit 8-pw great, makes me think I should change shafts so all irons are 130 grams, but my swing speed, distances, tempo are very close to yours which makes me think I shouldn’t go as high as 130 grams, but honestly would love your thoughts on this as I’m kind of stuck.
Touch heavier but I also don't mind going up to D5 in a lobber. So gradual increases usually. I think this set goes D2.5 to PW then D3 in 52* 56* and D4 in 60* I just know I was cool with where they were. General rule though, feel shots get your SW's up a touch.
I have a chance to play the Accra TZ6 85 for 5 wood. I've only played TourAD-Di 7X in my 3 wood and never had a chance to try this shaft. Would the 85 TZ6 in the 5 wood blend in nicely? I also play Ventus TR 6X in my driver.
All depends on tipping. The Accra has the potential to feel softer but in the 5 wood that's probably what you want. Sounds like you're in the right ball park
@@trottiegolf you were bang on. Shaft does feel more active than the other two shafts that I play. I usually play my woods a bit shorter than TM standard. Would tipping help?
You said that you had heavier weight up front for lower spin, but before that didn’t you also say the one up front 8g and the back 19g? I want to bring my spin down as well so just making sure I understand. Thank you!
With the golf ball, what TaylorMade golf ball is the closest too the titleist AVX(low launch/low spin) as I have used the TP5x before and at times I spun it a little too much and it was coming off the greens and not hitting and releasing like the AVX,I have a full bag of TaylorMade/KBS clubs from driver to putter and the ball I want to use TaylorMade soo much but I can’t find one that suits me🥺
@@trottiegolf yeh I tried the previous model X and that’s too hard it felt like a rock too me,I have used the current model before I switched to the AVX and while I did like it at times, when hitting into greens I couldn’t hold them and they spun off too much and also I like to play alot of bump and run type shots with my 9 iron,it always came up short whereas I don’t have that problem whatsoever with the AVX,if there is a TaylorMade ball that is low launch/low spin and feels the same as the AVX I’ll be all over it as I desperately want to use TaylorMade balls but I can’t find any that suit me unfortunately 🥺 The closest I could find online in reviews is the TaylorMade tour preferred X but I can’t find any brand new
@@trottiegolf I’m a high launch type player who generates too much spin at times and I need a low launch ball that brings that down for a more piercing trajectory, when you are getting backspin of your driver(which is a 9 degree stealth) and are losing distance, something had to give
Working closely with one at the moment. When I'm ready to spill all I will but still in the early stages. I think tracking your data is MASSIVE, so spot on for keeping an eye on that stuff.
Need help with a shaft question, im currently playing DG S300 105's in my irons, and ever since i got these new irons, or shafts.. i've hit really poor iron shots, i think the shafts are too light, i think my clubhead speed increased a lot but i dosent feel like the speed is matching the rest of my swing, i think i get the clubs too far too quick in my swing which makes me stand up during the swing and therefor hit poor shots(full shots), I've tried to do more of halfswings with a bit more punch, but i feel like i've lost about 1 or 2 clubs in lenght on every shot.. so with this being said, have anyone had a similar experience? I've been thinking about switching to 120 grams KBS shafts.
What's the swing weight? You're early extending which could be because you're not feeling the head in the swing. Watch this for SW definition: th-cam.com/video/Ww2GaXSEX9Q/w-d-xo.html
Really appreciate the answer and feedback, Im not sure what the swing weights are.. however the clubhead feels a bit heavy compared to the shafts(maybe not heavy enough) @@trottiegolf

Trottie any chance of a driver video showing how you generate so much speed with your driver im a hair shorter than you and cant for the life of me get above 94 clubhead speed 😢
About 5 years on and off never really solidly for long periods have got fitted for the new stealth which is awesome in a longer shaft around 45 I think hoping that will give a bit more speed struggling with flipping rather than rolling I think. It's driving me nuts 😂😂 have to have a back op from construction work now which is going to put me out for a few months so could be a long way back unfortunately Loving the vids 👌 👊
it's got quite a bit of loft on the head so it borders being worth a 2" tip For example a 5 wood would be 2" So opposed to going 2" I backed off a little to keep the spin. Good call out and I totally know where you're going. You're right in your thinking I just didn't highlight well enough that this is actually a 4 wood so my head was in a 5 wood space and I softened it off.

@@trottiegolf Thanks Trottie!! Helped me a lot!!! Love your videos and hope one day you can fit me!!! I am with Taylormade since 2008 and haven't got the chance to fly to the Kingdom. Cheers brother
Are Arccos the best for individual club tracking? I’ve read that they have trouble picking up the yardage at times
I believe they run off sound for the strike and then GPS in your phone for the yardage book / app.
I've used it on/off in the past and so far it's leading the way BUT this is an area I want to learn more about.
I hope to bring more content on this type of stuff if it's something folks wanna see?
Launch Monitors, GPS tracking etc I think everyone needs to work within their budget and bring this into their equipment set up.
Maybe I should do a what's in my squad vid??
🤔
Trottie I noticed the wear pattern on that old rocket ball three wood of yours was a little toe of center, I was the same way with my old tour model m2, why is that? I’ve recently replaced it with another brand and it’s coming dead out of the center on it. The thing is even though it wasn’t out the center with the old Taylor made, I hit it great.
same length and swing weight? I early extend a little so can get away from center at times
Honestly I don’t know the swing weight of either club but over all weight of my new three wood is slightly heavier. They are the same length @@trottiegolf
@@Matthew-yj1nd I'd be looking at the swing weight before taking it any further
On your quality chart for TM, where would you place the R7 Cgb Max?
On my personal chart not near the top 😂 but it's a good club for its time and the type of golfer it was intended for
Can we get a video on the Rbz rocketballz 3 wood in the back?
QUESTION… you mentioned you hot melt weight in the driver into the toe for the slight fade. Why not just move the sliding weight to the toe? It seems it has that feature on that driver?
I like the sound and feel of hot melt
@@trottiegolf oh… that’s a pro tip right there
Trottie, have you ever tested the TPT and Paderson shafts? I guess you don't find them everywhere like the Fujikura, Accra, KBS, Hzrdus etc but they are well known on the Long Drive circuit. I tested a TPT earlier this year (not in long drive spec though) and could not believe how good it felt. For me a small distance gain was nice but that wasn't the selling point, it was the massive gains in dispersion and consistency of spin rate. I'd love to know your opinion on those shafts.
I actually have but with Tour PLYR's not long drive guys. The TPT made a splash for a small period of time but I'm not sure where it's at currently
Did you have to add length to your putter and extra tape at the bottom for that Grip?
No. This is an armlock to start & then the grip comes at the length required for that style of putter
@@trottiegolf Oh I see! What length is it playing at? Is 70 lie the same as what your standard putter was?
@@grantlinstead7987 I do play around 70* in putters yes, that said I nearly flattened it yesterday 🤣
I know Trottie would never dare deviate from TaylorMade but man it'd be great a fitter of his calibre trying and testing all brands...alas...
Agreed. Also not a fan of TM tip adapters. The fact you have to spin the shaft to get a different setting is pretty inconvenient. The Callaway and Titleist tips, for example, keep the shaft in the same position regardless of the setting you adjust to, which I much prefer
@@sparknadounless the newest adapter is different only the top of the Titleist adapter changes so you do have to rotate the shaft.
every week i go back and forth between the idea of a 7/9w or hybrid… trying to minimize a similar variance i’m getting from the current driving iron.
This is a pretty good vid to help with that decision:

The stealth 2 fairway is by far my favorite fairway wood. Traded in my rogue st max for one and the results have been spectacular. The stock shafts aren’t bad either
What do you think about club builders who talk about honing the shaft
Honing? You mean puring or flow?
I think it's a personal thing.
I've personally seen the GOAT do it so it can't be completely off the scale..... if he's doing it then we have to pay attention.
Check out this vid as I mention the process in here:

I’ve used Arccos and they were great but I couldn’t get past the ringing
Hey Trottie,
The $ taper in your irons are 120 stiff right?
Apologies if I missed this.
Wondering your opinion, I play AMT white s300s in my irons. 8 (127 basically 130), 9, and PW play at 130 grams and then each club under drops 3 grams. I hit 8-pw great, makes me think I should change shafts so all irons are 130 grams, but my swing speed, distances, tempo are very close to yours which makes me think I shouldn’t go as high as 130 grams, but honestly would love your thoughts on this as I’m kind of stuck.
I think 130 is A LOT for someone with my speed, you gotta really load it for that. Yes I play the 120 $ Taper & to be honest I like them.
What is your swing weight in short irons? Still D2.5 like your 3 and 4 iron
Touch heavier but I also don't mind going up to D5 in a lobber.
So gradual increases usually.
I think this set goes D2.5 to PW then D3 in 52* 56* and D4 in 60*
I just know I was cool with where they were. General rule though, feel shots get your SW's up a touch.
Trottie is so lucky because he can customize his clubs however he wants and he can feel is something feels wrong so all his clubs are customized
Luck or hard work? Only took me my whole life to be in a position to have the means to do it and the ability.
I hear ya though. Blessed 👍

@@trottiegolf thanks mate!!

Thank you!
Yea you can go a lot heavier than I go up top, a good reference is 8 grams will move your CG enough to see an impact
With the golf ball, what TaylorMade golf ball is the closest too the titleist AVX(low launch/low spin) as I have used the TP5x before and at times I spun it a little too much and it was coming off the greens and not hitting and releasing like the AVX,I have a full bag of TaylorMade/KBS clubs from driver to putter and the ball I want to use TaylorMade soo much but I can’t find one that suits me🥺
I'd have thought you were on the right path with X. Have you tried the current one opposed to previous yrs models?
@@trottiegolf yeh I tried the previous model X and that’s too hard it felt like a rock too me,I have used the current model before I switched to the AVX and while I did like it at times, when hitting into greens I couldn’t hold them and they spun off too much and also I like to play alot of bump and run type shots with my 9 iron,it always came up short whereas I don’t have that problem whatsoever with the AVX,if there is a TaylorMade ball that is low launch/low spin and feels the same as the AVX I’ll be all over it as I desperately want to use TaylorMade balls but I can’t find any that suit me unfortunately 🥺
The closest I could find online in reviews is the TaylorMade tour preferred X but I can’t find any brand new
@@trottiegolf I’m a high launch type player who generates too much spin at times and I need a low launch ball that brings that down for a more piercing trajectory, when you are getting backspin of your driver(which is a 9 degree stealth) and are losing distance, something had to give
I can't get the stage 2 3-wood out of my bag... same with the stage 2 driver...
Correct me if I’m wrong, was that 15 clubs? I basically have the same setup and I’m trying to figure out what club to ditch.
Thought about getting a 54 degree and ditching my 52 and 56. Then I’d go 60, 54, 48…

Watch this for SW definition:

Really appreciate the answer and feedback, Im not sure what the swing weights are.. however the clubhead feels a bit heavy compared to the shafts(maybe not heavy enough) @@trottiegolf
should be stated that i ordered the clubs half an inch shorter than standard, and im not sure if they adjusted the swing weight after it being cut, but they came directly from Titleist, so one would hope so.
Just came back from our local golfpro, you were right... just by reading what i told you you werre right.. that's insane, you know what you're talking about haha.. my irons had C8 swing weight.. should at least be D2.. so, we put some tape on my 7 iron to get it back to D2.. and whaaat a diffrence it all made.

Weird that you said you wanted it quite spinny, so you tip trimmed it 1 3/4" Tipping will lower spin. Explain?
it's got quite a bit of loft on the head so it borders being worth a 2" tip

So opposed to going 2" I backed off a little to keep the spin.
