Some tribes don't share their angel name, keeping it as a secret meant to be shared with only the most trusted and sometimes not even then. Luis is from one of these tribes, in the book Dante its said he's only said his angel name out loud a few times. During one part of the trials he's made to speak his angel name aloud so he can join the blood angels. On his way to the trials to become a Blood Angel some other kids make fun of him for using a regular name. And yes even tho his name is Luis Dante as a Blood Angel he's gone by just Dante for almost all his service

People might make fun of you for this, but I see it as noble. Long before we had fictional stories, we had myths and legends filled with great heroes, and our ancestors took those stories to heart and tried to embody those figures as a source of strength, inner Peace, and perseverance. So in other words, it's only natural, just that fiction is now essentially modern myths, in a way. I got the same inner strength from reading Berserk. 40K is badass, glad to live in the same day and age as it !
In fact, just as many warriors throughout Greece were inspired by Homer's heroic/epic tales, today we see the possibility of being inspired by works like Warhammer. I'm just starting out in this universe but I already use the great battles, characters and the like as a means of inspiration; Dantes is one of them. For the emperor, brothers
A fun point: when one takes how long the Primarchs actually lived between their births and "deaths", Dante's total lifetime as a defender of the Imperium is actually greater than either of the returned loyalist Primarchs, Roboute Guilliman and Lion El'Johnson, who had not yet lived for a full millenium before entering stasis.
Let’s put this into perspective: Dante has been leading Blood Angels for over 1100 years, that is more than any loyalist primarch and more than most of them combined! Glory to Luis Dante! Not gonna lie, for some reason, this video made me tear up a little bit. Dante represents, for me, the ideal of selfless sacrifice and endurance, despite all the darkness and cruelty of the galaxy. Even though his body and soul are tired from all the horrors he has seen, he still goes forward. I dunno if is a stubborn sense of duty or even love, but his story from start to finish is simply beautiful 🥺 Ps: Right now I was going through a bit of a depression. I hope you can get through it brother, even though I’m relativity new to 40k lore it’s helped me a lot and lifted my spirits. I know this will sound strange but I use chaos as a metaphor for depression and things that are toxic to my wellbeing, whether it’s toxic people or toxic habits. Listening to stories like these where people stay defiant against all odds and the chaos around them helps me stay motivated. I hope you can stay courageous in darker times until brighter days prevail.

I was never a huge blood angels guy, but always found Dante to be such an interesting character. Truly a shining light of the imperium like his father before him. Also loved how when lion’el Johnson first met him and was so angry that he wore sanguinius’s face until he saw Dante’s true face underneath and had to admit that this was a man who had earned it! Through blood sweat and tears. May the light of the emperor guide your path!
The Remembrancer is awesome. Bringing in Baldermort just makes it twice as awesome as hearing the lore and tale of Dante. A great treat for this Sanguinala.
The Blood Angels Omnibus was the first 40K book I read. The Blood Angels are what I consider to be true Adeptus Astartes. They embodied what I believe is the epitome of military virtue. IF I was alive in the 30th to 40th millennium, I would wish to be a angel of Sanguinius. If not, then a Salamander.
Incredible that even from his very first trials, the Great Angel had already singled the young Dante out for greatness, by dispatching the Sanguinor to guide him through his trials and to his destiny.

It really feels like Dante is the remaining light of Sanguinius. He has been there and met 2 primarchs in his time. perhaps he will live long enough to meet all of them.

Lord Commander Dante is very memorable and honorable warrior that the Imperium has ever created, and the Blood Angels will be forever proud to creating a powerful warrior that even their Primarch has foresee in a prophecy.
I would argue that Dante himself is not exactly powerful. He is basically a run of the mill Space Marine who happened to rise through the ranks due to circumstances. Many warriors, if they had his level of experience, would probably beat him in a 1 on 1 duel. That said, the fact that he has lived for over 1100 years, without Mephiston-level resistance to the Black Rage or Cato Sicarius level of skill, is impressive in itself. He knows how to survive.

I have never been this serious when I say Dante is amazing. I understand space Marines no matter how glorious or virtuous they are. They are but Human beings, cloaked in the concealing Mask of emotionless Angels. Dante has been a Human for 1500 years, fighting for his Lord Sanguinius. And for his Savior and Giver, The Emperor of mankind himself. And it is only after crossing the Rubicon does he become the true Lord of Angels. DC, Marvel, and other companies will Never have what 40k delivers. "The grim dark truth" "the frightening uncertainty" "the promise of no eternal reward" "the reality beyond fiction" in other words... I always loved the Blood Angels and they always seem to get so much flack from the 'fans' almost as much as the Ultra Marines, despite there flaw they always operate with valor and that resonates with me.

I have never been this serious when I say Dante is amazing. I understand space Marines no matter how glorious or virtuous they are. They are but Human beings, cloaked in the concealing Mask of emotionless Angels. Dante has been a Human for 1500 years, fighting for his Lord Sanguinius. And for his Savior and Giver, The Emperor of mankind himself. And it is only after crossing the Rubicon does he become the true Lord of Angels. DC, Marvel, and other companies will Never have what 40k delivers. "The grim dark truth" "the frightening uncertainty" "the promise of no eternal reward" "the reality beyond fiction" in other words... Hero's and I can say this proudly Luis Dante is Mine, and what I strive to be like. Thank you brother Remembrancer Again for talking about my favorite Chapter and my most Favored Character.

I always loved the Blood Angels and they always seem to get so much flack from the 'fans' almost as much as the Ultra Marines, despite there flaw they always operate with valor and that resonates with me.
