It was a project that took four years, but Jeff Crampton of Litchfield, CT successfully restored a 1949 Ford F1 pickup and has now been driving it for four years.
How did you attach the front fender to cab rubber seal to the rear of the front fender? I am now at the place in my 49 F1 restoration where that is my next move. I suppose the fender edge needs to be painted first. Adhesive doesn't appear to be the solution to hold the rubber seal in place.
Just traded texts with the owner and he chuckled over your question. He says he bought the paint at a local auto parts store and that the can said, "Dark Green."
Just traded texts with the owner. He says the running boards were rotted, so he cut them off, and that it was hard to find good replacements. Does that answer your question?
I hear ya. The story was done a while back for the Republican-American newspaper in CT - long before I launched the TH-cam channel. Realizing that online consumption is a bit different, and hearing other comments like yours, I've toned down the delivery over the past 18 months. Thanks for the feedback.
Very nice F-1 Ford! Love the fact that it has been restored instead of being restomodded.
It looks good up close, too.
nice interview Jeff and job on truck see you road keep rolling
Jeff's a great guy.
Sir, that is a beautiful truck!
He did a great job. It's fun to see it out and about in northwest CT on a regular basis.

I'm curious if he retro-fitted any seat belts.
Love the color!
What's great about this pickup is that it's used often for running errands. It's common to see it how and about in Litchfield.
Great looking truck, is the color meadow green?

May I ask why the steps are cut short ?

@@ride-ct-classiccars thanks , I don’t think he’s trying hard enough 🙂
The announcer needs to talk like a human instead of a monster truck show announcer.
