If you put together a blast of an engine and a nimble chassis... you have a rocket bike. I own a XSR900 2016 model and the only complaint is that it is not a beginners bike.
Thanks for watching. Yamaha really have something special in the MT recipe. Affordable, fun and dynamic. We have another Yamaha product review coming up very soon - stay tuned!
It was a great bike, and yes it was hard to give it up but we have more Yamaha reviews coming up soon, so we'll get our fix of two wheels again. Thanks for watching.
Your not wrong,,great bikes,,,I just traded my mt10 in at Woking yamaha,,bought the mt 09sp,,which incidentally is even better than the standard mt,fun, smiles,,,and lots off miles, lol,,the 10 and 09 both great bikes, but I prefere the 9,,as actually perfect,,
Although it delivers "only" 117 horsepower, they feel like they were much more. Cold figures do not show what you feel riding this bike... that engine is superb!
Yes Hypernaked is Yamaha's descriptor, nonetheless - it is still an awesome value package that is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. Thanks for watching.
Hi Cristian, thanks for watching. 👍 My jacket is an Alpine Stars Vintage. There are lots of versions of the vintage series. I've had mine for about 10 years, originally purchased from On Yer Bike in Buckinghamshire, UK.
I find my bike could pull another gear, it revs out very quick, I’m coming down from riding R1s so miss the speed, it is a brilliant bike the ride is so comfy and the engine note is brill, I’m enjoying the bike but I wonder if I can get a smaller rear sprocket on it maybe one tooth,
It is a superb engine and the bike rides so well. If you're looking for bike tuning advice and you're in the UK, perhaps give Dave Wood Racing a shout - based in Buckinghamshire, Dave is so knowledgeable, professional and keen to help. Enjoy your bike. Thanks for watching.
@@marton_horvath I’m not comparing it, it’s nothing like an R1, totally different, I couldn’t ride the R1 nowadays That’s why I bought the mt, but I just feel it could power a bit of gearing to give it a little bit more speed if needed, but with more comfort without ripping my arms out of the sockets,
46-50 mpg is not thirsty. What makes an engine thirsty is the rider. MT-10 on the other hand, that engine is inherently thirsty because of a mechanical problem of pumping losses associated with uneven firing intervals and crankcase pressure/timing.
Yes - the challenges of offering a running commentary/review whilst riding.... there will always be a difference in quality as we used lav mics on the scenes shot with the bike static versus a helmet headset which gets muffled. Work in progress @robertprosser6856, this was our first attempt at filming a bike. We hope that overall, it was still an informative and enjoyable watch.
Thanks for watching. Yamaha refer to the MT-09 as a Hyper Naked. It is documented on their website and product guides. Yamaha Europe approved this video as they loaned us the bike, so we have been led by the information made available to us. A fantastic naked bike all the same!
@@Ignitiononline1 maybe they have made a mistake. Maybe their MT10 could possibly classed as a hypermaked but their MT09 falls into the middleweight class of naked bikes along with Ducati Monster, Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z900 etc.
You can still lift the wheel in rain mode - good enough for me - lol

I guess that's why all the fiddly electronic throttle modes exist to trim throttle response and/or engine power.
@@exothermal.sprocket sure. The response of the engine is brutal.
@@josevi5835 It's pretty snappy.
I've ridden the 1290 Super Duke R. That's what I would define as "brutal."
@@exothermal.sprocket The 1290 Super Duke must be a blast, what an L 90° engine!!!
It felt like toward the end you didn't want to return the bike! And the sounds at 4:04 and 5:38 sublime. Thanks for the vid, looked like a fun review!

Thank you for watching. Nice choice on the SP variant! Keep an eye on our channel or subscribe for more Yamaha content coming very soon.
"Hyper" isn't the correct term for 117 horsepower, not when there's V4 Streetfighters turning out over 200 hp.

@@josevi5835 I've the 2018 model. I guess the point was semantics, but that's Yamaha's marketing.
You obviously have not ridden one, it will beat an R1 to 100mph.
@@JoeStanek-vu7rl So you calling me a liar, coward?
@@JoeStanek-vu7rl*if you can keep the front end down
It's a "hypernaked" in Yamaha marketing parlance anyway, as is the MT-03. With the hp of a ZX6R, it's really a middleweight naked bike.
Yes Hypernaked is Yamaha's descriptor, nonetheless - it is still an awesome value package that is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. Thanks for watching.
When did 900's become middle weights?
i really love your jacked, could you let us know what brand it is ? or a link to get it ?

That's comparing apples to gerbils tho innit? It's an inline triple in a naked bike vs a cp 4 sportsbike...

You are wrong about the tank size. It's very thirsty bike :)
