Bosnian from austrlaia here. Secret is to not eat much in the morning. Have a good iftar not to much and drink water till you sleep. in the morning quick date and cup of water and thats it :)
Hi Ben. I've just come across your channel and had to watch four of the videos despite being very busy. I want to thank you for your evident sincere appreciation of our culture. Now, I would be more than delighted to be your host, guide, personal cook, (...) in my hometown near Tuzla. I'm sure you already know that this is a sincere invitation and that we Bosnians mean it. You can stay for as long as you want and I'll make sure you get all your questions answered, whether it be about the culture, cuisine, history, geography, language... (An appetizer: they say I grill the best ćevapi in the country.)
12:07 oh I can relate to that..coffee is the hardest part..if nothing but a cup of coffee was allowed, it would be just smooth and fine for me.. and the best Ramadan experience I had was certainly in Bosnia.. beautiful Bosnia..💚
I just had my iftar, watching this very interesting video. So cool to here you speak bosnian, every time-but this video has a special energy, and so do you Ben. Eselamu alejkum from a bosnian in Denmark.Ramadan 1445/ April 2024
Thank you so much for your travels through the Balkans. I am Muslim girl from New York, so this was an interesting vlog to see how Ramadan is like in rural Bosnia. In my high school, I met alot of people from the Balkans, and I learned about the language, food, culture, and history from my friends. I like watching your vlogs, hope you travel to Bosnia again and across the Balkans, I'm learning so much! Is the language spoken in Albania and Bosnia similar? Is the language spoken in Bosnia similar to Turkish?
Thanks very much for your message! I’m also from New York :) I’m happy that you enjoy learning about the Balkans, it’s a really interesting place with great (and complicated) history. The languages of Albania, Bosnia and Turkiye are all very different, they are all from different language families. Bosnian is a Slavic language and is the same language which is spoken in Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro (albeit with some regional vocabulary). This language is closely related also to the languages in Slovenia, Bulgaria and Macedonia. Albanian is a unique language which doesn’t have any closely related languages that still exist. It is an indo-European language (like English, Bosnian, Spanish, etc) but it split off from these languages hundreds or even thousands of years ago and so it is very different from the others. However, due to the Ottoman control of the Balkans that lasted hundreds of years, there are many words in both Albanian and Bosnian that come from Turkish, especially nouns that have to do with clothing, trade, etc
Bosnië is Not Turkish and the language is NOT similar Bosnië is a Slavishly European Country only the religion is the same but that’s All whe have in common how did you came up with such a idea????
5:35 "malo zajebano" is a cuss word :) Just made me laugh because you guys were trying to be mindful about language and his uncle is just swearing away lol
huge respect to you bro. Looks like you know more about Islam than an average Muslim. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Bosnia was more religious than I expected. I would like to visit Bosnia soon. Very nice people . I would also take this opportunity to invite Ben to Islam.
after living in 7 different muslim countries, this is the 1st time i see people eating so much stuff in the pre dawn suhour during ramadan... and mostly wrong foods...
Eselamu alejkum brate.
By Bible standards this whinning and crying how hungry people are and telling everyone they are fasting is so wrong.U should actually get someone to eat in front of u while ur fasting, cause its harder like that, but they forbid people who are not from their religion to eat on those says in front of them, thats how it is in gulf countries.
@@SS-kg8qw The point is if you want to fast…stop whinning about it.Stop talking about if.Some Christians fast,do they make videos about it and whine and tell everyone how they are fasting???No people should not do that, its hypocrisy.
@@tonytony3255The difference is, fasting Christian volunteers their fast while Muslim has been commanded to do it as a whole and everybody must do it, it's a representation of the struggle of hunger, thirst and tiredness to the poor and to show the Muslim ready to sacrifice their foods and drinks. When people eat in front of them, it's like mocking a poor person despite the non-Muslim knowing it is the month of fasting. That's why lots of non-Muslim these days fast alongside the Muslim, they undertake the system too.
Watching you now, Ramazan 2024, got 1h.12min. left to iftar😊
I’m loving these videos from California! Love seeing how Ramadan is in other hidden gems of the world
Respect for fasting at least one day and saying PBUH

Millions of Muslims live in Europe and North America. Do they not fast because others are eating in front of them?
