    Fun fact, that map I show during the part where I discuss Enoss at 1:50 is a real map in my setting. My play testers are going to be there adventuring in a few months.

    Glad to hear about this, didn't know until now that WOTC was being quite stingy with their brand. Its quite odd when it seems like homebrew is a very big mover within the D&D community.

      It gets even stranger when they did something similar for 4E and that nearly ruined the brand of D&D. Now they are making a worse mistake which is insane.

      @@kid9893 I've been looking at different lawyers react to this. First off, it looks like, unless there is some breech, they can not revoke the current OGL for roughly another 12 years. The way it was worded and set up, they are stuck with it for a while yet. 1.1 is a new agreement, where people can sign away more rights, and they are trying to frighten people into using it. That said, it's still a slap in the face to the whole community.

      @@andrewlustfield6079 I am not sure where you got the 12 years from but they actually can't revoke the OGL regardless of what they think. That's why making a new edition is so important because the OGL doesn't apply to all editions, just the ones it is published in. That's why 4e isn't covered because that had a GL not and OGL.

      @@kid9893 I was listening to one lawyer talk about how a company can back out of a perpetual agreement like the OGL after 35 years. Since the OGL has already been in effect for 23 years, that's where I got the twelve years from.

    • @kid9893
      @kid9893  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andrewlustfield6079 they can back out of it but the works previously published aren't effected and that would cancel it. This is trying to change it which is not the same as backing out. The twelve years makes sense from what you said though and I will remember that if I have to make an update.

    Great video! It's amazing how WOTC can make the same mistake they made years ago. Guess no one pays attention to history. Hope they get clobbered by their fans & loose that precious market share. This will cost them a ton of money & lost good will. Nothing like corporate greed to kill the golden goose. Hey 'King", loved the funny editing.

      Thank you so much for the compliment and yeah I am always baffled by corporate America being so naive to their past. Especially products like this which are hobbies and luxuries, making them easy to replace.
