    i have a small Lemken Saphir 7 combined with a rotary harrow and think its one of the most reliable seed drills in terms of seed germination. The combination of the ring-compactor right in front of the disc-seedshares guarantees a reliable deposition of the seeds deep enough to have enough moisture but shallow enough for easy germination. The rubber pressure rollers increase the contact between the seeds and the shares and control the depth of the Depostion

      Yeah it’s pretty amazing how adjustable these machines are especially on the fly and I think when we switched to Lemken, we are getting about a 98% germination rate

    I would love to see the process of planting around the irrigation pivots. Here in Ohio irrigation is not typically used.

      In a way they have. They did take us down to Arizona to their event which was pretty cool, but all the positive things we say about Lemken is because their equipment just works really well and we really like it. We are very honest about things on our channel if something sucks we make sure you know about it. In an upcoming video we do point out a bunch of flaws with a couple things on the Lemken.

    How much seed does the drill hold? How many acres per fill? Have you started planting spuds? Will you be planting this Saturday?

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It holds 144 bushels and probably between 60 and 100 acres per fill depending on your seeding rate. We hope to be planting Friday and Saturday but it is also supposed to rain so we will see.

  • @joelg8004
    @joelg8004 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That holds a lot of seed! How many acres before it has to be refilled for you guys?
    Also is that 8430 on 60” spacing? Think you said the potato ones are 72”?

    • @RockyMountainFarmer
      @RockyMountainFarmer  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think we were refilling it at about 60 acres And our tires are spaced still too 72 inches for potatoes

  • @gregstone1306
    @gregstone1306 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That's a very interesting design but no I don't rotate tires. That's got to offer a very uniform seed depth.

      I know some guys do custom planting, but it’s technical enough that I wouldn’t want to lease it out. People need to be trained on how to run this one.
