@@KolosLeatherGoods been doign leather for the last 22 years and still dont get why people case there leather and wrap it that just waste of time of money if u case your leather right wont seap threw
@@KolosLeatherGoods well they pick up bad habits if lightly case the leather it wont seep threw like 22 years and have i not once had it leak out the bottom. I hate some leather makers that does that stuff and pass it to be that you have to do etc just teaching bad habbits.
Hey. Everything is simple, after wetting piece of leather I’m wrapping it with for a while ( like 15-20 minutes) so the water can spread all over this piece. Next I’m changing old wrap for new one ( with only 1 layer) so u cannot mess up leather with some spots, cuz let’s be honest, sometimes u can touch black leather before and it can leave some paint on fingers. :) That is kind like a “safety net”. If would have any other questions, feel free to message me anytime 😉
The thing is, while you are tooling on the leather, it stretches a bit and to stop stretching you need to stick packing tape or paper tape, which is more like to you. Small thing that help a lot 😉
@@KolosLeatherGoods ah okay, thank you for this information. often find videos showing that they put the paper tape but did not find any explanation why it should be that way. thanks man!
I would like to know what your using for the black, Dye or paint? What ever it is gives great coverage, So I'm guessing a good quality paint, Angela's maybe.
@@bipedalbob try add a little bit of alcohol. Also I was using Kenda farben dye, this thing works great too. But in the end I’m using Flebings acrylic resoline yo give my product that shiny and glossy look :)
It’s pretty easy I was using A 104 and A104-2 stamps ( They are made to feel small spaces but here I was using it for ice and it gave me that textured look)
Hey Joseph. Yes , it’s marble and there is no recommended size, bigger is better, or more comfortable to work on. But, there should be a thickness at least 4 cm, so than it will absorb energy and do not brake half :)
I do have the same problem but unfortunately without water your work can disappear with time. I think that’s why everybody are using some sort of paint or different finish.
After leather absorb water, U starting to work and leather can stretch a bit so for stopping the stretching you have to glue a tape underneath. I’m using masking tape but you can use packing tape or any tape you want. Just take two identical pieces of leather and try to stamp on them, but use one with the tape and second one without you’ll see the difference in the size :) So bigger piece is the more stretching you will have in the end
