I cannot tell you how much I love this cover. The instruments sound great. But those vocals. The vocals are absolutely stellar here. They compliment each other so well here. This song is on my obsession playlist. Songs I can just loop over and over and don't seem to tire of hearing.
The vocals really stand out in the sense you usually don't hear vocals that are that pronounced and full of that much emotion.
It’s like that for me but with the next song on that album, Model Man. And yeah, I totally agree, the vocals on the song and this cover are absolutely out of this world phenomenal!

There is another group of SOR students that did Three of a Perfect Pair, and it's also quite good. But what struck me about this one is the vocal time signatures most closely mimic the way Adrian originally did it. These kids are top shelf!
After listening to this I feel more hopeful in the future of humanity.
Super job from the guy on bass...he deserves Tony Levin's Chapman Stick.
That poor soul has a tough task and nobody is going to appreciate he did it without that bizarre Chapman stick! He sounded great, though.
@@michaelfisher3493 I've seen Levine interviewed saying that when he joined King Crimson he found that their bass lines laid out beautifully on the Stick but were tremendously difficult on a bass. Nate nailed it on a six string bass. I'm not sure how faithful it is to the original but it's perfect for the song.

Great version. Just a comment though, the bass is such a big part of this song and Nate did such a great job but there were almost no shots focusing on him.
I agree. I think it's kind of hard to play this on a regular bass instead of a stick guitar. Good job.

Agreed. Tony Levin's part is as technical as Fripp's (and in my mind, much more pleasant - Fripp is an incredible guitarist but while I love this song I dislike many of the guitar tones in it, whereas Levin's bass line is uniformly awesome) and Nate killed it. Personally I own a couple five strings and what they've taught me is that I need to be moving in the direction of fewer strings rather than more, but Nate nailed this song. I can't even imagine playing a six string bass.

Absolutely top marks! Vocals are well disciplined (no pun), and the guitarists and percussionist were all truly outstanding. You did King Crimson proud.
You should watch their rendition of "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas. I was blown away. These Young people are incredibly talented.

Talk about "complicated"! This is an amazing cover that absolutely nails this very very difficult tune which is in 6/8 time! There are no words to describe the perfection in each of these performers abilities here!

I have watched this video multiple times. I'll admit to not being a huge King Crimson fan, but this is a fascinating song done so very well by every member of this group that I cannot but be captivated every time.

It's great to see these young people tackling such technically complex and engaging songs. I can easily see many KC compositions like this being looked upon in a hundred years in the same vein as Phillip Glass would be.

Having just watched Belew and Levin perform this a couple of weeks ago in a barn in Upstate New York all I can say is not only do these kids "get it" but added a new flair. Bravo! Keep passing the torch of the great songs, not the Top 40 hits!

Most excellent cover! Great vocal harmonies within a great range for the song. Buy that drummer a single Octoban, and the sound would have been perfect. Also, props to the bassist for a solid imitation of the Stick including slides and all.

I watch a lot of School of Rock videos. Not many groups reach the level of these kids, they're absolutely great, vocals were good and the band was good...
I also like the left/right effect of the clean guitar playing. Especially at the end.

Wonderful harmonies. I saw Greta and Chloe in the live set they did and they sing well together. The band is tight and right on cue for this difficult-to-play song. A lot of work on this. Hats off!

I've seen a few performances of this song by SOR groups--this one is tops. I didn't think they'd get it, but it delivers on all levels.

I was in my late teens 40 years ago and I can say for a fact that back then, no groups my age were advanced enough to play this. And I want to say to all you people, PLEASE never stop making music. It does make a difference in the world. ✌

I was lucky enough to see the KC lineup when this album was released perform this song in the early 80's at the Greek Theater in Berkeley and these kids are amazing!! I've seen KC or one of their spin-offs (Stickmen etc.) at least 10 times over the years!

All of these kids are very talented. The redhead to the right I've seen her in a lot of the videos.
The other redhead I've seen her and a couple videos also. They both sound pretty good.
The band the only one I recognize is the bass player. He plays pretty good not much into fashion. You don't have to wear fancy clothes to sound good.
I still remember the first video I came across from them. It was a few years ago and the picture that popped up as I was strolling TH-cam was of this girl with her rainbow colored shirt playing a keyboard and look really intense. After watching the video OMG that girl had energy. Nobody had a negative thing to say and to this day it's the number one video from this school. The last time I checked it was close to 4 million views. I haven't seen any other videos that had been put out by them even come close to that one.
I don't know whatever became of her I'm hoping that she is still playing. She really had good showmanship. Most people who play in bands just stand there and not move around. Not that girl she was on the fire.
I have noticed that some of the new instrument players are getting more into their playing. Either way I think these kids are fantastic. I never even realize that they have one of their schools no more than 10 mi from my home.

I _knew_ that there was another version of this one! haha Had to check it out, and that was the case. SoR had this one covered by other young musicians years ago. This new version with this lineup also delivered a great cover of this tune, like the one before did. Only thing I'd change is having the bass louder in the mix. Otherwise, nice job everyone! 👏🏻
