That opening Hendrix riff, she was almost spot on...wtg young lady. They are wayyyy into this music. And the young lady singing is damn good. Great Bluesy rock voice. She has some mad guitar skills
I remember listening to Jimi on 8 track tape in my car back in the day and these teenagers capture that same raw sound, pure genius to all these teens!
Mitch Mitchell's playing is so deceptive. He makes it sound so smooth and effortless, yet it's surprisingly hard to get the groove just right. Bravo Amanda, stellar playing 🤘🏻
An excellent performance that is even more impressive given the age of the performers. Jimi and the only person/group that did justice to this song as a cover (and my favorite version) Stevie Ray Vaughan would be proud. Every performer nailed their performance to sound that good! Props to the young lady playing guitar.
Fantastic guitar!! I've watched a several dozen covers tonight, and this is the first to make me go "Who the heck is playing that guitar???" Bravo, dear. You've stunned this old man with your talent!
A song like this is all about the emotion. It's OK to play the right notes or sing the right words, but to get it "right," you have to FEEL the music. Jimi Hendrix was all about the feels with everything he did. I played with a guy who was obsessed with getting Purple Haze "right." He was never satisfied with what we did. I couldn't get him to understand that we were gold as long as we felt the music. He never did, which is probably why we don't play together any more. These kids did it right. Their playing was a little sloppy, but for a song like this, that's better than doing it perfectly. In other words, when you play Hendrix, less-than-perfect is exactly what the music needs. I think these kids understand what Jimi was all about, and if he had lived to hear them, he would have approved!!!
Fantastic. Kudos to the Kids that learned how to play, The Music Teachers that taught them and the Parents who PAID for those Instruments. ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!!!!!
Lex is so perfect on guitar - was trying to hear if there was a single part that sounded off and there wasn’t. Many fans - I once saw when backstage with Joe Perry his personal tech case had a big picture of Hendrix inside the lid.
The devil is in the details... like how the guitarist nailed the low E on the beginning riff. It's slightly sharp momentarily because of how much energy is being picked into the string. Whether it is a mix of string gauge and picking strength or just picking strength I can't say. But whatever it is, it was done CORRECTLY. And that, my friends, is how you play an open string with conviction.
Oh my god, I was SO relieved to find out that Jimi Hendrix is still ALIVE and doing post-doctoral performances at the School of Rock!!! Lead guitar was perfect! Drums nailed the beat and mood. Bass had me tripping fingers over my beer can! Other guitar could have just played his track and gone home, but NO! He made an attempt to outshine the lead, kind of like the little girl in Sound of Music won over the castle crowd. Now the vocal lead. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much in the way of thunderous applause when she finished. I admit that studios aren't known for this, but jeez, she deserved it. Mixing and editing were solid (work those boards, my dudes). Overall, I give this a C+. I AM KIDDING!!! Solid "A".
Freaking far out, Love to see the young ones Rocking out on some of that old classic rock. Jimmy Hendrix One of the best if not the best in the world.🙂🙂🙂
Just flat out SUPERB!! While I loved the vocals and the guitars were nothing short of AMAZING. The drummer gets my two Thumbs Up, on track and tight the whole song, and the whole time just looked like they were chillin and enjoying.
It's so great to see some young kids embracing awesome rock music like this. The music of their parents and grandparents. The garbage that most kid their age are exposed to is so sad. They're probably fed up with it.
They’re students and learning the mechanics of playing. Still in the mechanical stage but building a good foundation. The premise of the School of Rock is terrific.
Absolutely amazing !! Another way of keeping classic music alive besides radio airplay which is often spotty in some areas. These kids are so talented and rock like I never thought possible in a cover version.
Every time I come back to listen to this, the whole performance and all this skill just gives me goosebumps. Excellent combination of talent and passion on display here!
Wow - totally amazing! I wouldn‘t have believed such a young, talented, female guitar player to be out there playing this kind of music - till now! Does anybody know her name? I‘d like to hear more…
Good golly, this was tight. This is a ready-to-go blues rock band right here. Hands down, the best cover of this song I've ever heard, amateur or professional.
AWESOME!! Anytime a female guitar player can play Jimi. Rory Gallagher or any of the big old axe players is tremendous. Carrying that axe torch forward makes us 50's children who grew up with the 60's & 70's guitar masters very happy!! Very tight set, everyone did their thing very well.
Girls can play anything! Someday we’ll forget all about the girl/boy thing. As a guitar guy I do think having a big arm and fingers can help really overpower the guitar mass for blues but im constantly amazed by new people all the time! She did great
Wow! I haven't seen Megan in awhile,,but damnnnn,,the young woman is developing some serious rocker skills. Great job! Bass and drums kept a nice tight beat going. Guitars were pretty good too.
Jimi and Stevie just looking down from up above with big smiles! Well done!!
Can you believe none of these kids were born when this came out?
As always a huge thanks to the parents that support their children's music journey. In these days of crazy everything it's time and money well spent.
That opening Hendrix riff, she was almost spot on...wtg young lady. They are wayyyy into this music. And the young lady singing is damn good. Great Bluesy rock voice. She has some mad guitar skills
You can tell that these young folks are really feeling the music, it comes alive through them! Much love & respect, Thank you.
It's a Jimi Hendrix song no pressure on the guitarists LOL. Great job everyone
The lead guitar is ON FIRE!!!! I have absolutely no words, just amazing!! Mr. Hendrix would be indeed very happy with this cover!
Cheers from Brazil!
WOW 👌,
Man did that young lady nail that !!! Whole band rocked and fed off each other . Great job !!
An excellent performance that is even more impressive given the age of the performers. Jimi and the only person/group that did justice to this song as a cover (and my favorite version) Stevie Ray Vaughan would be proud. Every performer nailed their performance to sound that good! As a whole these kids killed it on this one! The lead guitarest nailed it! Keep up the great work kids!
Awesome! The bass player is already grooving before he even starts playing. The guitar, drums...the voice is amazing. Keep rocking!!! Thanks!
Bass players are the unsung heros of music. I here a lot of Tommy Shannon in this
That drummer's ability to 'slip' the beat is phenomenal.
I want to live in that pocket
Fantastic guitar!! I've watched a several dozen covers tonight, and this is the first to make me go "Who the heck is playing that guitar???"
Bravo, dear. You've stunned this old man with your talent!
Old song played by New Generation exceptionally well done

A great song lives on, "Jimi" is reborn into a new generation. Rock on!
Stunning. Really captured the raw power of Jimi.
And SRV

Nice and tight.
Props to the vocals and guitar work!
It's one of the all-time great songs!
Jimi hendrix basically is considered as the greatest guitarist bcz he played guitar with 1 hand
Happy 80th birthday Jimi. From me to your universe. You are missed😢
Great job what a treat for the ears, keep on Rocking young rockers
School of Rock is one of my "go-tos" to hear amazing covers done by young musicians.
Man they are good!! I wish they had this school when I was young.
IKR?!
Great to see kids today are still taking classes in the classics - and nailing them
Just flat out SUPERB!! While I loved the vocals and the guitars were nothing short of AMAZING. The drummer gets my two Thumbs Up, on track and tight the whole song, and the whole time just looked like they were chillin and enjoying.
Jimi and Stevie Ray Vaughn would be happy to hear that cover
This is "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", "Voodoo Child" is a completely different song. That being said great job.
Wow!!! Such talent in that room! Excellent!!
I'm kind of going OMGosh! I'm glad these videos just popped up in TH-cam. These students, including all who attend the School, are amazing.
Let's not just talk about how good the guitarist is, but how absolutely ridiculous that gorgeous intro is. Jimi was a legend.
You're brave to take on this iconic song by the greatest rock guitarist ever. Did good.
Holly cow this is good
Amazing voice Megan! Awesome guitar Lex!
So much soul in that young voice! They all nailed it.
@@jimchesnutt7879 You could drop that voice into any old blues song and watch the mic cable catch on fire!
Solid cover given that they are very young..It takes guts for any guitarist to cover Hendrix
The Best!! Jimi is smiling down to at this young, women.
It's so great to see some young kids embracing awesome rock music like this. The music of their parents and grandparents. The garbage that most kid their age are exposed to is so sad. They're probably fed up with it.
Drummer was exceptionally tight. Not common in young drummers. Well done.
Excellent guitar work, the vocals spot on I would simply say the all band nailed it absolutely magic
You Guys are Awesome!!! Don't sell your souls...and you Don't have to to keep on doing what you're doing! Stay solid God bless abundantly!
Pastor BE
He was the glue that held it all together I totally agree this is a very cohesive recording they really work well as a team very enjoyable
They’re students and learning the mechanics of playing. Still in the mechanical stage but building a good foundation. The premise of the School of Rock is terrific.
@@classad98Yes, she (Amanda) was.

Absolutely amazing !! Another way of keeping classic music alive besides radio airplay which is often spotty in some areas.
These kids are so talented and rock like I never thought possible in a cover version.
Quality! Quality from them all, each and everyone gave a superb and faultless performance . Jimi would e proud, love it. Ovation.

Great performance!! Rocking a classic with style!!!
Wow - totally amazing! I wouldn‘t have believed such a young, talented, female guitar player to be out there playing this kind of music - till now! Does anybody know her name? I‘d like to hear more…
The credits name the guitarists as "Joey" and "Lex," so if Joey was the rhythm guitarist, her name is Lex,
Lex has got Jimi running through her vains. Great job Lex!
Lex is great, as long as it's not Lex Luthor.
10 seconds in first view became one of my favorites!. Fantastic!
Great music, fantastic musicians and amazing vocals !
Good golly, this was tight. This is a ready-to-go blues rock band right here. Hands down, the best cover of this song I've ever heard, amateur or professional.
Say what you all killing it
Rock will be forever, thanks, keep rocking, well done.
She nailed the guitar and great voice over all a excellent job 😎
Yeah, Jimi and Stevie Ray smiling and nodding to that one.
An excellent group project and outstanding sound...
Fantastic performance all round. Have to be brave to cover like this but you nailed it.
AWESOME!! Anytime a female guitar player can play Jimi. Rory Gallagher or any of the big old axe players is tremendous. Carrying that axe torch forward makes us 50's children who grew up with the 60's & 70's guitar masters very happy!! Very tight set, everyone did their thing very well.
Yes. It's absolutely brilliant. I hope these young musicians go far in their careers. Best of luck to each of them.
Girls can play anything! Someday we’ll forget all about the girl/boy thing. As a guitar guy I do think having a big arm and fingers can help really overpower the guitar mass for blues but im constantly amazed by new people all the time! She did great
Their IS hope for music after all! Great performance!

This version is far more accessible than Jimi's. I like it very much. Thanks xx

What only this other guitarist captures just how hard that piece of guitar playing is to master.
Wow! I haven't seen Megan in awhile,,but damnnnn,,the young woman is developing some serious rocker skills. Great job! Bass and drums kept a nice tight beat going. Guitars were pretty good too.
