As soon as that bit of straw pinged away cause you weren't holding on to it and then the jarring of the table and the popping of the light happened, I pressed like. You just took it all in your stride. I imagine looking after all your kids has taught you that. Youre a beautiful person, inside and out. God bless.

Thank u SO much! I also found no Tunisian crochet hooks at my local chain stores. So smart!

Thank you so much, I used a Silicone Straw and Pony Bead lacing for my I hook to replace my Tunisian I hook which didn't work for me because it was so hard to habg onto without the flat part for your thumb and finger. I have arthritis and can't grip tight and the hook would constantly twist and I would have to use my fat handled I hook to cast on for Tunisian which takes twice as long. I was so glad to see your video.

Ok- I have been dreading purchasing interchangeable crochet hooks because of the horror stories of snagging, curling and completely coming apart. Now I can use the hooks I already have & just get some JELLY CORD?! 👏🏽See a need- fill a need- I love the ingenuity👏🏽 THANK YOU 👑QUEEN👑 !

My wife just learned about Tunisian Stitches and wanted the hooks that go with it, Thank you for posting this I think we can make them out of an old set of regular Crochet Hooks and will safe us some money instead of buying a new set. We are going to try to use electrical shrink tubes instead of the plastic tubes. Wish us luck.

    • @RameyRocks

How did it work out? What is electrical shrink tape or tubes rather? I’ve been wanting a set too, but can’t afford them.

I'm so glad I found your video!!! I got silicone straw tips from Amazon - strong and secure and some elastic cord for bracelet making. As I'm making a king tunisian blanket, I'll use it or some heavy weight fishing line. Perfect! Thanks SO MUCH!

Thanks for sharing. Just what I was looking for in my first attempt at turnisian crochet. A tip to help if the straw is a bit loose or keeps coming off would be to rub the end of the crochet hook first some rubbing alcohol (causes the rubber to become tacky and will stick better when dry).

Love this idea! Do you ever have trouble with the plastic snagging on the yarn or pulling stitches out of shape? If so, do you have any ideas for how to prevent that?

  • @charliedellinger-pate2830

You are a genius! I love the hooks with thumb rest and they don't come in interchangeable tunisian. For smaller needles, I'm gonna dig out my husbands high heat air gun and shrink the plastic straw to fit. It might be permanent, but that's ok.

Good idea, but you could also substitute the jelly cord for another kind of cord and the bead for an old button or bottle cap. No need to buy anything.
