I have a few questions. How much weight will jelly cord handle. It tends to stretch. yarn can get heavy when making large items. Can you suggest a wire instead of jelly cord

Thank you so much, I used a Silicone Straw and Pony Bead lacing for my I hook to replace my Tunisian I hook which didn't work for me because it was so hard to habg onto without the flat part for your thumb and finger. I have arthritis and can't grip tight and the hook would constantly twist and I would have to use my fat handled I hook to cast on for Tunisian which takes twice as long. I was so glad to see your video.

Love this idea! Do you ever have trouble with the plastic snagging on the yarn or pulling stitches out of shape? If so, do you have any ideas for how to prevent that?

Good idea, but you could also substitute the jelly cord for another kind of cord and the bead for an old button or bottle cap. No need to buy anything.

My wife just learned about Tunisian Stitches and wanted the hooks that go with it, Thank you for posting this I think we can make them out of an old set of regular Crochet Hooks and will safe us some money instead of buying a new set. We are going to try to use electrical shrink tubes instead of the plastic tubes. Wish us luck.

Genius!! I bought a cabled Tunisian crochet hook and it's too rigid. No amount of steam or boiling or stretching has helped it relax. Every stitch, the cord whips back and forth and I hate it!

You are a genius! I love the hooks with thumb rest and they don't come in interchangeable tunisian. For smaller needles, I'm gonna dig out my husbands high heat air gun and shrink the plastic straw to fit. It might be permanent, but that's ok.

I imagine if the straw is too big then you could also use some tape around the end of the hook to get it to fit more snugly
