- This may or may not be another welding project. Okay it is mostly welding but since a majority of us have to stay at home right now I thought to myself it’s a good time to go through the scrap pile and make something without going to the store. We are planning on remodeling out home in a couple months. With that the kitchen will be getting completely remodeled and redone. I wanted to get rid of the old builder style light fixture in the kitchen and put in new modern lighting. I don't know if this is considered chandelier lighting, regardless looks 100 times better than what was in there before.

(16 ft.) 3/4" steel square tubing

Nice one! I feel good seeing your son sharing your studio time
Thanks!
I've got most of the materials for a new light. Great little project to use my everlast welder while stuck at home
Yes indeed. Thanks.
Absolutely insane 🔥🔥
Thanks!
Looks pretty cool. I would use wire nuts though.
Love it
Thanks!
Nicely Done, and thanks for sharing! Thinking about something similar since what I've seen that is available is way overpriced and uninspiring.
Thanks!
Tnx info sir salute 😎
Welcome
thats great looks pro
Thanks!
Great project i really enjoyed it,and i know that your next project will also be great
Thank you very much!

U welcome😊
No idea you could weld on an OSB table. The fixture looks great!
Yep it makes layout easy to mark things up.
You can weld on anything. Just attach the ground to the project instead of the table. Having a welding table just makes it that much more convenient you can clamp to the table and have the entire surface as a ground.
Great work! Just wondering what thickness of steel you use when you weld stuff like this? Will the welds blow through if its too thin?
It is pretty thin, i'm not sure the exact thickness. I can turn the welder down low enough that it didn't burn through.
That looks awesome. I'm looking to do pendent lights to match my chandelier. Where did you get all the steel from?
From a local steel supply shop. Much cheaper than your big box store. More major cities have them.
@@-DIYPRO- good to know, thanks.
Those light bulds look perfect. Do they have them in LED?
Yes they do, they are called Edison bulbs, they have started coming out with LED ones, expensive but yes they have them.
@@-DIYPRO- Sweet, i may pick some up!
What did you use for the wire from the lights to the main power?
Yes please tell, from what i found regular lamb cord should work but it would be nice to know for sure.
Vertical/horizontal bandsaw or chop saw? I'm between the two.
Get both!
Would a regular flux core welder work for this type of project?
Yep, if you are new to welding i have a bunch of other videos about cheap Harbor Freight welders that will get the job done.
@@-DIYPRO- great, thanks.
How much did this end up weighing?
It's around 10-15 lbs.
Need a permit to change a light fixture?
Yes....but nobody does for just a light fixture.
