    You can adjust the battery to performance and get better fps on battery, by default it’s on balanced. Not sure who does gaming on a battery, but the options are there to improve the experience. I have the 4050 model, such an amazing device in my eyes for the cost and that beautiful OLED!

      The problem is the 4050 consumes less power here, so it will have some wiggle room for Performance, it's not the same for a 4070. TDP affects this chip so much that having it be as lower wattage that it is doesn't even classify it as a 4070. This is something a lot of reviewers also complain about because of how low of a TDP you can put into a laptop and slap a sticker on it. Yes it can game but isn't the focus at all considering the TDP for these chips inside and how much the cpu heats up due to a lack of cooling for sustained loads, not burst loads like rendering would be.

    I bought the 4070 version for video editing purposes, but it also works well for simple gaming with a weight of 1.79kg and a 120Hz OLED display. The balance of heat and noise is good, too. I haven't seen a laptop of this caliber in a while.

    A light laptop that I can use for work and casual gaming is very tempting. I have a 17" LG Gram, which is great for work but obviously hopeless for gaming. I wouldn't expect top-notch performance from the Samsung, given that its so light.. It might be time for me to upgrade!

    • @Tigerex966
      @Tigerex966 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The gram can now come with a etc 4050 for $2000 17" 3.2 pounds up to 20 hours video streaming at 150 nits.
      But it's a 28 watt low power Intel. P chip.
      So not as fast in the CPU department with only average cooling.

    If your gonna check the latest CES, there is a new technology regarding cooling that might replace the rotating fan in the future. If I remember that correctly it is called "air jet"... If that small thing put in a laptop then Yeah, thermal throttling will be a thing in the past and laptop can get more power output because the laptop can handle that already.. As nice as it is, £3050 in the UK for the i9 is too much, especially as we can only get 16GB of RAM. That means it will struggle as a pro laptop and have a sub-par gaming experience. Though I do get that this cycle has meant an increase in prices all around due to inflation and lower demand (economies of scale).
    Best to wait for deals, although I doubt Samsung is making many of these, so they may not drop like the Book Pro models.

    I wouldn't necessarily call this a gaming laptop cuz it's not mainly targeted for gamers but more likely for creative workers. It doesn't have most of the "Gaming" features like most gaming laptops do ie super cooling, rgb lighting etc.
    It's an amazing laptop for most users; it's powerful/fast, light weight, beautiful screen and amazing rounded corner bezel - it's quite rare for a laptop to have a such beautiful bezel especially for windows laptops.
    I'm confident to say that the Galaxy book ultra has the best screen in the laptop market, even better than Apple's macbook. It's got Samsung's latest display technology 'AMOLEDX2.'

      And I'm confident to say a great laptop needs more than just a great screen. That's where the Apple MacBook Pro M2 remains king. Best battery, no fan noise, low to no heat and runs on full performance when on battery and still the best trackpad in the industry.
