I'm giving scheduled Twitch streams a shot! www.twitch.tv/calebrune3 Also, for those of you who were asking questions about the inclusion of the offhand slot: YES - Offhand would add more difficulty, but only marginally, and with the huge drawback of turning the game into Walking Simulator. I played Walking Simulator for and hour and said haha, and have never touched the game since nor do I plan on it, as the only difficulty was having the mental fortitude to keep holding w. NO - Offhand does not make the challenge 2 slots. The offhand slot isn't part of the inventory, so if I disabled it for the reason that it counted as another slot, my armor and crafting slots would have also needed to be disabled. But that was never my intention, I just wanted to do 1 inventory slot. In the end though, it wasn't really a matter of the technicality of it being a slot or not that made me leave it enabled, it was just a matter of making a new challenge that was fun, difficult, and didn't REQUIRE excessive mindless grinding to complete. :)

Not really, with a single inventory slot you can still carry 64 blocks of gold, which would be 19.3 tonnes, considering he's using the offhand slot that could double to 38.6 tonnes. To people who don't understand metric, that's about 27 Toyota Corollas.
The reason the Piglin shot you on attempt 7 whilst you had gold armor, was because you opened the chest in front of it, which makes them angry, regardless of armor.
13:55 this is quite literally the best minecraft horror. one heart so you have to take it slow and let the fear set in, 1 (2) inventory slot(s) so you have to choose between a sheild, blocks or torches and an area where mobs love to spawn. this is peak minecraft horror

The 1.20.2 mob attack reach calculation changes would make me go crazy. The 11:10 Enderman would have been fatal since it was changed from 1.5->3.0 vertical reach. You can really feel it with zombies since they are so common and you'd want to be close enough to jump crit.
At first it was really weird to get used to it, but after so many attempts I sorta got the hang of it XD But ngl I for sure thought that enderman was the end for me. Didn't know about the reach change! I just knew it felt unnatural that I didn't get hit lol
I love that this video is a testament to the fact that you dont necessarily have to be good at video games to overcome challenges, all you really need is HEAPS of determination
@@b0tfly fr, It's mostly just looking back and figuring out what you did wrong. I replay my deaths in my head every time I die to figure out what I could do better next run. Trying a new strategy with theoretically much better odds of success is all I need to keep myself motivated!

You'll always get people (like me) who will gladly scoop up any content no matter how similar it may be to a similar challenge already done before. That’s insane you didn’t go in with a plan. Most of the other videos have a whole plan they tell you within the first 5 minutes but this was way more funny to watch. The pacing and editing is also just top notch. Knowing when to slow down or speed up

When I saw the cover, I imagined it as "Oh sh*t, this is going to be difficult, let's just do it out of curiosity" and "can't he use bows? Well, he's probably using snowballs or eggs." You literally proved me wrong in the first two minutes. I didn't even know about it. How were you going to destroy the crystals at that moment, since I had forgotten at that moment that the height of the crystals varied the damage they did to you, and I can only tell you that these 44 minutes were very epic of how you went through this challenge. while you continue learning from your mistakes, GG, you deserve it

16:11 I'm pretty sure explosion damage is dependent on your feet specifically, which is why one way to protect yourself from creepers is putting a block on the floor between you and the creeper explosion, on those deaths you rose just high enough that your player's feet were exposed enough to the explosion to kill you

It’s so inspiring how you can pour hours into one run and die and brush it off like it was nothing. I’m like that super safe player that gets spooked by every mob and never legitimately killed the ended dragon before and this was so eye opening and changed my perspective for playing Minecraft. I can explain the explosion thing. The game does let you hide behind blocks to avoid explosions, but it only checks if your feet are blocked. So it’s probably most effective to actually get as close to the pillar itself as possible
If I may, just a small tip : you can sneak + click to open the inventory of a chest boat, donkey with a chest, Lama with a chest, ect, without getting on them.
28:14 mobs definitely do spawn on mycelium. it's the mooshroom island biome that stops mob spawns (except from dungeon spawners). if you just like surround your plains biome base with mycelium and expect to be safe you're gonna be real disappointed
The editing you put into your videos is so pleasing. Too often I see crafters sacrifice visual quality for speed, but clearly your equipment can handle it, and your shader is so beautiful. The music is really nice too and adds such a buff to an already enjoyable video.
Man when you died to that end crystal it made me so mad. If you just place a block to block your feet it deals significantly less damage. I feel like you could’ve saved yourself loads of time just by preparing more.

For anything like this in the future you do, I'd highly suggest just making a small a datapack that just does all the commands on world load so you don't have to go through all of the beginning process every time and can just drop it in the datapack folder on world creation. Also means other people can more easily do it if you shared the datapack (not that they're really hard to make)

Honestly you have my biggest respect for doing this, especially the nether, with shaders on. I find I CANNOT do challenges with shaders because the difficulty seeing through shader-shadow has me SO stressed T_T
Yeah honestly the shaders seemed like an added challege to the video. There were many times where they were in a dark location wondering what might be there, that wouldve been completely avoided by vanilla lighting and even slightly upped brightness lol

This is amazing. As a person who speedruns and loves the game this is the best challenge video I've seen in ages. It was all very meticulously planned and you found creative solutions to the problems that presented themselves. I also really appreciated the shaders as a viewer, because this challenge would potentially be easier with say fullbright, hitboxes permanently on and f3 open a lot. Amazing video and viewing experience overall. New subscriber earnt
The enderdragon barely stays at the end because her name is Jean and she's a she, not a he. It's crazy that you were able to complete this challenge, I definitely would have given up.

The way explosion damage is calculated is by drawing a line from the explosion source and your feet, so if there's a block in between the explosion and your feet, you will take only half a heart of damage. This was very fun to watch! Also I love your voice! :D
@@kenjiotake thanks! I tested that in a few different ways on the crystals, but i died every time. Idk if there's something I wasn't understanding about that, but placing a block in front of my feet at varying y levels and distances always killed me if my head was at the same y level or above the crystal. Idk 🙃

This is amazing. As a person who speedruns and loves the game this is the best challenge video I've seen in ages. It was all very meticulously planned and you found creative solutions to the problems that presented themselves. I also really appreciated the shaders as a viewer, because this challenge would potentially be easier with say fullbright, hitboxes permanently on and f3 open a lot. Amazing video and viewing experience overall. New subscriber earnt

The way explosion damage is calculated is by drawing a line from the explosion source and your feet, so if there's a block in between the explosion and your feet, you will take only half a heart of damage.

@@kenjiotake thanks! I tested that in a few different ways on the crystals, but i died every time. Idk if there's something I wasn't understanding about that, but placing a block in front of my feet at varying y levels and distances always killed me if my head was at the same y level or above the crystal. Idk 🙃
