It is soooo good to see Misha responsible for Apex. And I am telling you why. Because this means we get to see him around for a long time now. This is like a "marry me request" to Nurburgring.

Great to see a "Summit" again. They have been missed, as well as videos on Robert's channel. I've been following this adventure since the days of BB and that other company that shall not be named. It will be interesting to see how things progress, and I'm looking forward to viewing Misha's second channel and Robert's channel again. As a video viewer the rental business never really had an impact on what I saw as mostly it was the occasional someone getting into the car and getting out spouting fervent joy. So really not much of a change for we only viewers from afar. Although, I do recall that the rental business gave you meat for the Summits, but I'm sure you will find interesting topics in the future.

Great perspective, Robert. And great weight loss! I’m down 36Kg since 2021; keep it up! My dad worked extremely hard in the business world, and he talked about the regrets of spreading himself thin running a company. When he was ready to spend time with the kids, we were all grown and out of the house. You’re making the right decision. 👊🏽

Even I can see at 30 years old that I do way too much, funnily enough I’m scaling down a little next year too now that my businesses are starting to be more self sufficient and sustainable without a million hours per week put into them. Going round Europe with the family my daughter be turning 5 next year so I think it’s about time she saw some of the world and what it has to offer!

I know so many people in Miami and New York who have disposable money to buy supercars and they aren't nearly anywhere as happy as, say, my parents, who love me and each other so much that visiting their house is something I look forward to everytime while they drive Hondas and Toyotas. What he says is true, happiness and success isn't measured in supercars.

Nostalgic video! I wonder if I should spend the holiday season watching the good ol' Apex build- vlogs all over again... 🤔 I hate it when a nice thing comes to an end, but as this really isn't the end of anything - rather a fresh start- I think the least I can do is finally come down to say hi next season! 😃 Happy holidays and a big cheers!!

It's funny, when i came to apex this october, i expected to be a lot more interested in rentals / taxi / etc., but instead i just enjoyed having a nice place to hang out and come back to between laps (or other stuff i was doing), so it's really cool to see you guys focus on epxanding just that. I'm looking forward to see how Apex develops and what your project will be, and I'll def. come back to apex and check it out!

Always nice to hear from Robert.
As someone who was dragged into a family business with no input/choice and no passion for the work and has ended up trapped, I'm both envious of the situation you guys are in and happy for you guys that you can do something that lets you share your passion for the Ring... but at the same time it also makes me realize my life has been wasted which is horribly depressing.
It will be fun to watch how this develops and continue living vicariously through these videos. Best wishes and happy holidays to you guys.

Glad to hear you guys getting back to where you are happy and enjoy it.
My brief visit in 2020 (11th hour prior to covid) with my mate Deano (RIP) was bucket list for both of us! I had a great time in the M4 with Misha and he loved the GT2 taxi lap!
I chose to do our trip with you guys because of how you came across as humble car guys on your TH-cam channel!
    Keep it memorable!

12:37 I said this about Apex when I first went there in 2020. It's just a cool place to hang out and talk and that's outside of my car rental. Even after my car rental I found myself there just hanging around the car park talking to the people coming and going. And that's no offense to the other rental places I've used before where you can pick up a car, do your thing and drop it off and be on your way- there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that Apex makes it a whole experience outside of just renting the car or having a taxi lap.

Love seeing Robert again. Love his voice and thinking on the things in life. Didn’t had the courage to say hello, when I was there 26th of July. Also mad respect for losing 25kg. I had the same journey and that is a hard one.
Exciting to see what Apex is going to be and what you guys are going to do. Also a bit sad that Apex is changing, because you guys were killing it in my opinion.
Hopefully next year visiting the Nurburgring more often when the Impreza is done. Hopefully welcome to have some nice times and talks when I have the courage to do so.

Thanks for the update - sounds great! The thing with Robert is that he’s so incredibly relaxed and laid back every time he’s on camera, but I am 100% sure he’s a very driven and sometimes even ruthless businessman. Otherwise he wouldn’t be where he is, at this early stage in life. His message here struck a chord with me. Both me and my wife have had quite succesful careers but there is for sure a certain regret that we didn’t spend more time with the kids when they were smaller. Would have loved taking a year off work just to hang with them, but that wasn’t possible. They turned out well (despite that) and are now living their own lives, but we would have wanted even more memories together with them. Well, well, looking forward to Christmas now, when they will come home 😊 Good on you, Robert and best of luck to Misha!

Oh man, I remember seeing Misha driving around with the van when the hotel was under construction I think in winter 2016 and seeing all the progress since then makes me feel nostalgic, but at the same time I'm glad that you are both going to be doing what you want to do and hopefully that will make you happy and fulfilled.
There is no other rental company like Apex, Robert and Misha were always clear in the vision and it's very different to other companies.

Wow. Just realized how long I've been coming hear every day to watch your videos. You had about 15,000 followers when I signed up! How many years has it been??? Made the 6000km journey from here in Canada in summer '22 for my first visit to Apex. Good thing I got in the M4 and GTI laps when I did. Planning to be back next summer. Glad to see you will still be there Misha... I'll have to bring another bottle of maple syrup... you must be finished the last one by now. 😁 Was great to meet Pancake too. Also happy Dyana will still be there... the many emails back and forth with her were a real positive part of the Apex experience. Good luck with everything guys.

Been an amazing journey to watch Misha grow. I dont see this as the end as those of us who can't get to the Nurburg ring and have watched since the sub 7 up will always watch this content. I couldnt think of a better place to hang out around a fire and talk about cars. Thanks for keeping the dream alive. Ps I'll be glad to see some more videos from Robert now.

Although not "OG" since the beginning of Apex, I've been following for around 3 years or maybe a little more and have really enjoyed all of the content and seeing the journey. These chats however, the vlogs and technical behind the scenes content have been missed recently. Thank you, Misha, therefore, for the second channel, and welcome back, Robert! I'm keen to see what the future holds for Apex and yourselves. I think that you're onto something with the new direction for Apex, keeping it about the community and creating a space for enthusiasts to come together while still assisting them to experience everything that the ring has to offer, makes a lot of sense, all of the best for the next chapter and the evolution of Apex in 2024 and beyond! 🎉

As a kid I got seriously involved in competitive sail boats and horses. Many of the adults who were helping me develop my skills took great care not to be a "pushy parent" with their own kids. I took this lesson onboard.

      @RobertMitchell 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

Misha and crew starting something new that is not apex and details on that will be announced soon. Apex does not do taxi and rentals any longer rather is now more of a private spot but Misha will come around to hang out when he can and I’ll go to their events or whatever they put on but won’t be in charge of them. In fact it’s a complete flip of how it all used to be.

I missed the type of videos where you went out for dinner or having a walk with the colleagues from Apex. Back in the days there were videos maintaining, rebuilding the Apex and your private cars and the hotel. Back then it felt more like a family and you knew everyone working at Apex. Would be great if there would be more of that type of content again in the future. Apart from that enjoy the holidays and have a good start into the new year!

Robert seems to be a good man!
You should do something like a bar w food truck so people can hangout with some kind of display of some apex famous cars like the m4 (GT3?) if it's still around, or the GT2 RS..
I passed in front of apex when I went to the track in 2018 but didn't dare stopping by in order to not bother people but it'd definitely be great to pop by if you plan to make some hangout spot

It‘s weird cause on the one side I‘m kind of sad and on the other side I’m happy…
But the thing is, regardless of what I‘m thinking the most important thing is that you guys are happy with your decision!
I, as a father of two sons (8 and 10 years old too), fully understand Robert‘s decision to spend more time with his family, I guess he and his family are very happy with his „change“.
Misha, I wish you all the best for your bright future and I‘m very excited to see what the future has in offer for you.

It's nice to see Robert again. From following you since the Boosted Boris days, to coming to the Nurburgring in 2017 when Apex was starting to take off to realise a lifelong dream of mine with you in the passenger seat instructing me, seeing this video and knowing that the rental business is no more made me a bit sad cause I was planning to come back again very soon. Car builds, setup, maintenance, hanging out together and socializing. Evening bonfires and BBQ’s. Good luck guys!

One day I still hope to make the journey to the nurburgring... I live on the other side of the world and travel isn't really in the budget, but... one day... and then a hang out at Apex would be the cherry on the cake!

I'm a person that loves the channel... Love the track... MIGHT have maybe stopped by at some point to do a taxi lap but more than likely would have never felt a need to come to Apex. With the new plans... I actually now feel more likely to come visit. Thats to say I think this could end up being the best decision possible overall for the business. As little overhead as possible and the impact can still be the same or greater.

Hallelujah. I’m in heaven. Back to the OG guys. Back to the roots of current success. Btw, Robert looks great and glad that work life family balance is fully recognised. Been there and bought the T shirt. Packing my bags for summer 24. Last visit was 19.

If you did plan on, say, a micro-trip to the uk trying tracks in others’ cars as well as maybe one you bring over, you would love Cadwell Park. Sometimes known as a mini Nurburgring. Donington Park, Oulton Park and the GP layout of Brands Hatch are very good too.

That's a twist, didn't expect that especially seeing how rental business grew in Apex. Switching Apex to hang out spot sounds like interesting idea, I'm interested how it will turns out, especially it comes with some problems to figure out.
This concept also opens opportunity for expanding storage felicity. Place to hang out for people who are motorsport oriented, has cars that's purpose is mostly racing, possibly could be convenient to have somewhere to keep them without spending time on just transporting them (on their own or outsourcing it). If they could keep their cars, maybe they could need a place to stay? So it could come with cross-selling and have booked one more room. From there, maybe they would take someone extra so even more people could need place to sleep and hang out.
Yes I understand that real property around Apex is tight, nobody really wants to sell land and this is high-cost, but this is just idea for future that came to my mind. Also maybe something changed in these few years on Nurburg real estate market.

I bought my Cupra after doing 3 laps in the Apex one, and have done 50,000km in it and will keep it until it dies. Perhaps I will bring it to Apex, or maybe motorbike - which I also got after watching nurburgring laps of bikes going crazy! I have the OG calendar sat above my desk.

I'd be excited to see Misha and Robert on the road and on other tracks - it doesn't have to be the Nurburgring or Spa-Francorchamps to be exciting. I'm thinking for example about Knutstorp in Sweden, Ahvenisto in Finland and Pärnu in Estonia.

I hope you both can get the best out of the respective stages in your lifes! It's inspiring to be able to peek behind the curtains and learn more than just cars, even if talking and/or driving cars is what binds this community. Incredible what are the possibilities these days (ignoring for a moment the shit that is happening out there)!

I always kick myself for passing-by at APEX, and not buying a taxi ride on the GT2MR
Such an amazing car. At that time I thought I ought save the money, because I always ran on a tight budget,, but by now i probably spent it all on beer, and have no cool memories of lapping on the passenger seat of a GT2MR :( hahaha
Great to see Robert back and the new plans!

    • @RobertMitchell
      @RobertMitchell 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I’m Gonna try and find a way to power the building with the joy and cheers of Nürburgring enthusiasts as they pass by… like monsters inc.
Also we had a bunch of fun w taxi and rentals but they didn’t make a ton of money vs what they cost to run. Taking away turnover doesn’t mean you’re shooting yourself in the foot if you also remove costs. The team always did exactly what they were requested and that was to provide a welcome atmosphere to enthusiasts. They were never pressed for profits.

Got an idea! Open a Pub. With a terrace. You can do there Bon Fires and BBQs. It’d be just awesome to have a “place to go” after the Ring stuff. It would be a petrolhead meeting point. Just like you always wanted.
