Almonds also smell like Cherry ... I am not a fan of Marzipan, but my daughter loves it. Years ago on a vacation in New Jersey at the shore, we went to a candy store that was almost primarily Marzipan sweets, I had never tasted it, we bought about 2 pounds and none of us liked it ... so it went in the trash. The biscuits with cats on them are in the shape of Langues de chat French biscuits, katzenzungen in German, which translates to “cat’s tongue” in English. Lol little something I learned from the Great British Baking Show (or Bake Off, if you’re not in the US) 😁

Sisi was Bavarian and married her Austrian cousin. Of course, at the time there was no difference. Austria WAS Germany. But you're not the first one to make this mistake. There's even a joke in Austria. "Our biggest achievement was to make Sisi an Austrian (she was actually Bavarian) and Hitler a German (he was actually Austrian)"
Looks great. One country I'd love a box from is Slovakia, my husband was born there and I think it'd be awesome to try some stuff from where he spent the first 11 years of his life and also the memories for him. But I haven't ever been able to find how to get any in Australia.
We went to Salzburg Austria on our recent trip. Our favorite city BY far that we visited. Its extremely walkable with Alps all around it. There is a Movie called the Sound of Music that is filmed there. Also Mozart was born there. I would say for a sure a must visit Country.
I'm a few years late to the party, thanks algorithm, but I'm commenting anyway :) I'm literally from Salzburg but I've always liked the "Mozart Kugel" (Mozart balls lol). They aren't cheap but some shops and supermarkets have single loose ones at the checkout and some off brand imitations are also ok. The combination of pistacchio, nougat, marzipan and chocolate just works for me. (Wait, people don't like marzipan?!) There is also Mozart ice cream all across Austria with the same flavour combination. What I love most about British sweets is the salted caramel chocolates, we don''t really have those. Cadbury tends to be too sweet for me.
We’re headed to Disney World soon and I’m planning to see if Epcot’s World Showcase carries some of these goodies from the different countries you guys have received. I feel like I’ve seen everyone of your videos now, so I should be able to recognize if they do. Their snacks and sweets are supposed to be authentic from the country’s they’re in, and there is a Germany pavilion. 😊

I always thought Marzipan/almond smelled like cherry! I was in the store the other day and smelled an almond based home made bar of soap and it smelled like straight up cherry, then I had my son smell it and he was like no it doesn’t lol!
