Interestingly the box excluded Casali Rum-Kokos. Probably because those have a real alcohol filling. The look on the faces of foreigners, first trying them unsuspectedly, is priceless 😂
Hey I am Austrian too.. I didn't know that Betthupferl .. The word Jump into bed.. but means a small snack before going to bed.. But you missed the Rumkugeln... same company like the Schokobanane.. very nice too 🇦🇹🇦🇹💪
Greetings from Austria! 😀 Just came across your channel. I've to admit that I'm really proud of our snack companies right now. 🙂 To be honest I hadn't known that some of those companies were Austrian. Always learning something new. 😀 Have a glorious day! ✌❤
Mozartkugeln ARE NOT an Austria favorite. It`s nothing we went to buy, it`s just that famous because of Mozart and all the tourists buy it. But in an normal Austrian life, mozart kugeln don`t be eaten often. Myself ich ate it maybe 2-3 times in my life. But Iàm Dragee Keksi addicted. ;) Dragee Keksi are one of my favorites, but in it they are mixed, dark and milk chocolate. The Manner Schnitten aren`t in the video aren`t the classic one. Sportgummi is something from the old days. Today 90% is Haribo in Austria, when it comes to fruit gum. 2 things which absoluty miss are Milka chocalate and "Schwedenbomben". Schwedenbomben are so famous in Austria, when the company which produced it got in finance trouble, the sale of Schwedenbomben rised because we Austrian don`t want to lose it. A few years ago the company was bought by a swiss company and we still have Schwedenbomben. there are a few more good sweets like rum kugeln (filled with) or Ildefonso. In my childdays there where Katzenzunge quite popular. Kellys as Soletti and a bunch of other tasty stuff!
Austria has nailed it... this box looks amazing. The mini fritz look like our french fries and the bobby looks like our chokito. Very interested in trying those puff peanut things...must now try to order some of these.
Good video, happy to see you like our snacks! Though I think this book should also come with a guide how to pronounce things because the way you pronounced these treats was hilarious xD
nice video. u have 2 come 2 austria and enjoy a real Wiener Schnitzel or a grilled porkleg named Stelze or a good Gulasch. greetings from vienna, austria
As an austrian and already came across and liked your channel I love "how you get off" with all our snacks which are a common sight in every austrian houshold. THX for remembering how good they really are, which as an austrian you unfortunatelly forget with the time when you are used to it every evening infront of the TV or PC.. I eat my next snack with more respect after watching your video. PLZ go further on with some Austrian testing things, and as you, i have also to appologize for my english as you where appologize for your austrian pronouncing, which was a really good one no daubt! Go further on and kind regards from Vienna (capital of AUT), Tom
TH-cam's algorithm just recommended your channel and this video Austria in my experience and I have been several times I live in Germany and like train travel and boat journeys So we have done the navigable part of the River Danube which flows through Upper and Lower Austria. The food has in my experience been good I think the pastry lattice was what I would call a Linzer Torte, a tart from Linz in Austria and the pastry is made with ground hazelnuts or ground almonds. The freshly made ones are delicious.
I didn't know Almdudler also comes in tins... well, the pure one. I've only ever seen it bottled in our shops, with just some of the mix variants in tins. Keep in mind the Dragee Keksi are a mix of two kinds with the brighter ones being coated in sweeter chocolate and the darker ones in more bitter chocolate. I like to pop one of each into my mouth at the same time, so the tastes can mix. Over here the "Mindestens Haltbar" i.e. "Will last at least until" really puts the emphasis on the "at least." If you store the food correctly, it WILL last until that date for sure, and will often last well past that date.
Greetings from Austria. To be honest salty snacks are not something we are good at. But when it comes to sweets and cakes we definitely know what we are doing.
Expiry dates are NOT meant to be absolute. The manufacturer will ALWAYS use a date guaranteeing that original flavour is maintained, unless the storage is extremely abused. Normally good go for years beyond that date if normally stored in average conditions. Some eople will not touch things even a Day beyond marked date, WHAT WASTE!
Almdudler rocks! Similar taste as Ginger Ale. Damn, always thought Kelly's was from the USA because of the name... Founder was american, but founded the company in Vienna.
Those are a fine collection of classic Austrian snacks, yet we have also many other quite popular brands like: - Lindt and Milka Chocolate (Swiss) - Ferrero (Italian) especially their Kinder Schokolade Brand who are famous for their Überraschungs Ei (Surprise Egg) or just short Ü-Ei, to be banned in the US - Bahlsen (Germany) who have a wide variety of Cookies and Buiscits - Mars Chocolate (US) Since Almdudler was included, we have also other beverages that are Austrian made. Like the world wide famous energy drink Red-Bull or from the Egger Group (one of the biggest if not THE biggest woodwork companies in Austria) their branch called Egger Getränke (Egger Beverages) produced lemonades called Radlberger LIMÖ, Granny's Applejuice, Black Jack Cola and many other beverages including Beer.
You need to visit Austria for the perishable things that can't be shipped. Schwedenbomben and all the different kinds of cakes etc. There are also different vendors making Mozartkugeln. I like the ones you had most, but there are other, more expensive ones, that other people like better.
Good selection, guys! Also try "wiener gebäck"(mostly sugar & pink "backery") , "Meeresfrüchte"(milk & white nougat chocolat), "Dreh & drink", everything from "Milka" (Austrian as well), white Austrian chocolat with rice crisps & nuts (don't know the name now..), some pastrie you can also get in any supermarket here, and all kinds of Pralines stuff, made in Austria - they're officially the best in the world ;) Great "review"^^ PS: Just making sure, we're staying Nr1 in your ranking! 🤣
Sorry man, but Milka is originally from Switzerland, the white chocolate you mention is from Suchard (also Switzerland) and the "Meeresfrüchte" originate from Belgium.
@@mistaboerns ur right, MIlka is from switzerland! The Belgum original ive tired and dont really like thou and im not sure if we're talking about the same chocolate? i mean the new(er) one.
10:08 we would love to see some fans here basically tirol is the texas of austria, salzburg hometown of Mozart, and vienna the entry to Europe and the town of music with castles and shit and every state in our country is known for its uniqueness
I would love to see you tasting the famous "RumKokos" which is from Kasali as well the "DrageeKeksi" are from. But! A BIG but its necesarry dont cut it into halfs, no, every one of you must take one piece without bite it into half, as a whole one into your mouthes. And then feel that amazing taste, that expierence! Believe me or us austrians. You will not be disappointed, no you have the feeling to immediate grab the next one out... ;)))
The Japanese have wild snacks, pickled tentacles, dried white bait, sugar coated crabs, lots of unusual Kit Kats as the name sounds like good luck in Japanese
I'm glad to see Mr Edward mentioned here, my spouse recommended him to Me after investing $4000 and he has really helped us financially in times of COVID -19 lockdown here in Australia

Appreciation to your vote from an Austrian. Exept the "Betthupferl", I know and like them all. Greetings from Vienna.

The Almdudler has to be chilled and try it mixed with beer. One third Almdudler, two thirds Beer.
