Just curious: How has the body held up over time? Has there been any bowing in the main section?
    Awesome build!

Thank you! Overall it has held up well. I recommend high infill percentage and a good amount of glue to keep everything from flexing. The wood dowels and panels help quite a bit too.

Very interesting build! I love the epoxy colour and swirls. I would prefer the whole face of the guitar covered with the epoxy though.
Another issue is that placing the pots behind the bridge is not optimal for easy access during playing.

Brilliant design!!! I will add this to my next 3D-printed project. Already built 2 3d printed guitars with Strat and strandberg shapes, but had a few issues dealing with the string tension and proper intonation. I think yours solves these issues and helps the guitar sound better. Anyways, what is the total weight of the guitar compared to a wood Les Paul?

Awesome build. I'm planning on 3d printing a guitar body soon. This is going to be my first build and your video has been super helpful!
I have a question though. Im thinking about adding latches on the bridge (with 100% infill) for 4 sections of body, as well as slots for dowels on the body, to make the rest of the body fully customizable. Do you have any idea how this would affect the structural integrity of the bridge piece? I really dont want any material creep.
    Really, great video!
Edit: if it matters I will be using PLA.

Sweet! Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I am currently working on a new 3D printed Telecaster-style design. I just posted an initial screenshot of the CAD on my instagram if you are interested to see what it looks like (link in video description). Similar to this design, the Tele will have a recess for pouring epoxy and I will have several variants with different patterns and designs. Ill be posting a video on this channel of the build and a demo playing it. I plan to create many other designs in the future as well, most likely including a strat design. Any suggestions?

Do the STL files come with a fill in piece where the wood goes? Or will mine have a divot?

    • @the3dprintzone

They come with a pocket for the 1/4" wood panels. I will be adding the STL files for people who want to 3D print the panels instead of using wood. If that is something you are looking for contact me through the website.

Your mistake with the jigsaw was caused by not having a fine blade inserted, the blade you had in it should only be used for ripping wood and not detail cuts.

I get that this was a year ago & therefore you've probably gotten all the feed back you needed to rectify matters, but ill just spell it our anywayz.. check your intonation & action. Intonation wise, your Simple Man demo was waaaay off. Then there was something else you played towards the end that suggests maybe action might also be an issue.
Regardless, seeing as this video is a year old, it would be great if you did an update video about this guitar so we can all learn about what worked & what you think/know needs correcting.

  • @федорниколаев-д8р

It certainly looks interesting. But the most important question of such 3D and epoxy guitars is, how do they sound in the mix? Apart from other instruments and with new strings, you may get the impression that this project has a good sound. But a comparison with an instrument that is built of high-quality wood, I'm afraid it will be at the level of a guitar from an ordinary Chinese guitar factory.
