I bought one of the Salutes for my clapped out driver, a 318 Gran Fury, single 2 1/2" pipe. It was cheap. I ran it for a week or so straight till I made a tailpipe and it was LOUD. The tailpipe quieted it down by at least half. It's really mild now. Almost like a stock muffler. I generally don't like straight through absorptive glass pack style mufflers. I think the reactive or chambered-turbo style mufflers sound better. Dynomax ST muffler do sound louder or 'better' as the packing breaks down. Mine always sounded best after a year or so. I have a set of the 17748 ST's for my GTX. I like the idle on the STs. Loud mufflers get old real fast when you're in the cab for any time. Cool exhaust on your truck, I like the pipes!

They only held up for a couple years as it would turn out. I ponied up the cash and got some flowmaster 70 series mufflers. Super happy with the sound. Mild muscle noise but nothing annoying. The dynomax is actually fairly restrictive due to the 2 inch core. The flowmaster has a proper 3 inch core.

@@VinnyMartello When I ran these in the '90's I got 3-4 years of daily driving. I'm assuming you found that they got louder over time. Actually, the center tubes are 2.5 inches (on the 2.5" mufflers). It optically looks like they're smaller, and the bushings or nipples do step down to 2.25 internally into the center tubes. I called Walker engineering and used a dial bore gauge to verify the sizes. I used an expander and opened them up to 2.5" all the way through, about a 10 minute procedure. I'm using these ST's because I had them on hand. I used and liked the Flowtech Afterburner which is a welded 'Turbo style' chambered muffler. Reasonable flow and sound. They're made now under the 'Summit Welded Turbo' muffler. Similar to the old Walker Redline Z mufflers.

I'm thinking about buying a dynomax super turbo muffler part # 17736 for my Toyota Corolla to get the car back to being as quite as possible. Had the Magnaflow muffler many times before and other mufflers but just drones to much for me driving to work and back. I've had many mufflers and I'm done with loud mufflers it just gives me a headache when I drive a drones alot in the car. I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla aem dry flow performance air filter, Vibrant performance resonator that replaced the stock resonator. My current muffler driving my crazy to the point I don't want to drive my car at all. Just want to get a good muffler to make my car whisper quite again. Great video man 👍. What do think I should do dynomax super turbo muffler offset offset or Magnaflow? Where I live it rains and they put salt down in the winter time.

@@marvelousmarvin956 I like the dynomax mufflers for their low droning. However, given they are a light gauge steel that is aluminized, I would encourage you to save up for something stainless. Walker Exhaust makes extra quiet mufflers.
