I've seen many Aquaholic tours of bigger luxury yachts/superyachts and although they're all hyper-luxurious, a lot feel very clinic, almost like a show home. Whereas this boat feels more homely and comfortable, as if someone has taken a very high quality apartment and screwed a hull to it, so far one of my favourite yachts I've seen!!
That is the Nordhavn brand, practical, functional and Nordhavn rugged vessels, typically open ocean capable. They tend to be displacement slower long range explorer orientated. In this case 4000nm range. Most fancy fast yacht can't do a fraction of that and not suitable for ocean transient. They are known for trawler style, not fancy swoopy futuristic. This 96 is a slight departure from the brand in style, more luxury, but at the heart it is Nordhavn. The brand is known for having single main engine with a WING engine, a small aux get home engine, on their smaller yachts. I think it is a brilliant. In this case, two main engines. When I find a few 10's of millions laying around and in the market for a yacht, Nordhavn is on the top of my list.
I think it has a lot to do with the intended use. Some are simply small floating hotels for the charter market, Nordhavn is for the owner. Broward and Hessan (sp?) and others build homes!
As the first Captain from the day she was launched, I can say: “I loved working on Lacey Kay for the first 4 years of her life on the water.” My wife and I plus 2 crew, the owners and 2 lovely little dogs took this vessel as far as 60 degrees north in Alaska to 59 degrees north in Bar Harbour Maine. From the west coast to the east coast as far as Columbia and Panama including the Caribbean and Bahamas and every port in between. It was a great adventure that I would not mind repeating on this vessel. I hope she finds a great owner. She is truly a magnificent little ship.
For those that have never been on a boat or long excursions, what does the crew do when they are not "on shift"? Or, is it expected that they are on the clock the entire time the boat is in use?

I fell in love with this boat the first time I saw her a couple years ago. The owner did a fantastic job on the customizations. Everything is beautiful and practical with a homie feel. I have seen some videos of other Nordhavns underway that seemed really loud and kind of unstable. They were smaller and probably older. How is this one when it comes to that?
@@DaLucaPaduca Lacey Kay is state of the art when it comes to stability and her redundancy on the engineering side. Most boats have 2 stabilizer finds however she has 4. The ABT track stabilization system works amazingly underway you can even adjust for not just rolling, but pitching as well. She has also the largest range of any Nordhavn of her size with a capacity to travel 8000nm at 10kts and no need to rebuker fuel. If I remember correctly she can hold 9500 gallons of fuel. With her 2 x C18 Caterpiller engines she can go around the world. These are not high performance engine however more like tractor engines that can go for ever. There was no need to put bigger engines in these full displacement hull boats as it has a max hull speed of around 8 kts. Lacey Kay can however do 13kts at full speed.
I'm the exact oposite, I LOVE the industrial and rugged no frills feel of most nordhavens, but find this one completely lacking in the charm that I enjoy. It's like it gave part of its soul to look like the popular kids.
I’ve fallen in love with Nordhavn because of Nick’s amazing videos and beginning to think that Nordhavn are the best blue ocean motor yachts out there. Incredible layout.
Best looking Nordhavn I've seen yet. Incredible layout and storage capabilities. 1:08 First time I've seen an extraction hood on an outdoor grill on a yatch. Only thing missing on the back is a livewell. 19:12 Extra storage to hang fishing poles from the ceiling :) This is a dream yatch for fishing and/or scuba diving. Luxurious for anyone not into those things as well with amazing range to go anywhere.
I absolutely love Nordhavns. The range, the styling, the mix between functional and luxury...just perfect in my mind. I'm quite jealous of the future owner of this magnificent ship. Thanks for the tour!
That Godfather music at 17:57 was so fitting: imagine being on that “little ship” going down the coast of Italy, with a glass of wine in your hand and your family and loved ones around you, and a muck like that playing through the speakers! Thank you for the video, this bot is amazing!👏🏻
That has got to be one of, if not the best yachts you have reviewed Nick. Everything was on the money. Equipment, decor, storage, layout, the whole nine yards. Better get a couple of extra lucky dips for the euro lottery this week. Love it.❤
There’s always something special about a boat that looks and feels like home on the inside. Sure, there’s luxury and pools and hot tubs and sprawling floor plans, but nothing beats true homely comfort out at sea exploring the world. Well i just didn’t think that Nordhavn did anything like this it’s just got everything you would ever need, it’s just stunning absolutely stunning, i can’t think of anything else to say but WOW WOW WOW FANTASTIC love this beautiful piece of machinery thank you so much for this Nick you’ve made my Sunday 😊👍👍👍
That is easily the nicest Nordhavn interior i've seen, absolutely stunning - kudos to whomever specced this out, its lovely. Thanks for bringing it to us Nick.
Nick: "I'm so self critical!" never say we viewers especially when we know you will "edit that out later!" 🙂 Great tour Nick and probably the best Nordhavn yet.
Happy wife, happy life! This is a boat of uncompromising compromise. Explorer, fishing boat with luxurious accommodations for those that are just along for the ride. I would never have guessed Nordhavn if you wouldn't have mentioned it at the beginning. The little round watertight hatch in the machinery space below the VIP guest suite had me thinking torpedo tube. Amazing boat Nordhavn, and great tour Nick!
Altough you had me at "dive compressor at the stearn", this boat kept on giving. I've seen all the videos on the channel, some twice, but this went straight to the top for me. That blend between the exterior and interior is a winner. Imho this should be Nordhaven's new aproach. I'd buy one in a heartbeat (if I had the money).
One thing about the 96 I wish they would change would be extending out that upper deck cabin more. Make the private deck smaller and increase the size of the owners cabin by another meter or so. Its a beautiful space but that deck feels like it’s wasting some room! Also excited for the steel hull or aluminum hull nordhavns. The 2009 Nordhavn 86 from a couple months ago that was 4.5 million is definitely still my favorite though, as nice as this one is!
Owner's deck feels like it was a salon and galley converted into a bedroom and bath. But I love it. Like you said the deck is huge more evidence it might have been a gathering place not just a space for two. It could use a table and chairs for eating breakfast.
Hi Nick, You have a nice selection of Nordhavn"s on your channel and this is your second Superyacht show on a Nordhavn this time the 96 stunning and again i am imprest with the big open space with the salon aft in the middle the dining and at front the galley in the bow a double suite and the rest of the guest rooms also in the bow area the big master on the bridge deck aft looks great What a ship this is the Wow factor Thank Nick for the great show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐
This thing is huge for the length. Love it, especially how the main deck is laid out. It almost looks like a floating condo. It looks comfortable, but more importantly, it looks warm and inviting, not like a sterile museum piece that you look at but can't touch. Nick, great job as always
Great tour, nice boat. Has a lot of things owners of smaller "normal" Nordhavns cannot have, and would really like, like the flybridge with a little pool of a jacuzzi. First time I've seen CATs in a Nordhavn.
I love this boat... but I love the 120 soooooo much more. I've worked my whole life in maintenance. The N120 is built for ease of maintenance. I love it.
WOW !! She's amazing 🫡... It is a perfect balance, i do appreciate some luxury vessels, Riviera comes to mind, but I'd never purchase one if i could... I don't want to be on an ocean casino... I want a tough ship that can do it all 👍🫡 contemporary, simple beauty, a survivor of most occasions. Thanks Nick 👍👍👍
Absolutely brilliant -- #superyacht and #video -- just ❤this! #Nordhavn did very well on the design and build. But of course, any owner's stateroom which has it's own balcony gets points added. Many thanks! 🍷🤗
Love the galley, big enough to service a full crew/guest load. I'm not a fan of the upper deck owner's cabin, but the view would certainly be worth the trouble, if you are willing to possibly have people wondering around outside your room. Crew area is interesting, kind of tight in spots, but layed out well. Love the divided head in the double cabin. Thanks for the look, Nick.
I love this yacht not only because it's beautiful, but because you can tell the owner really loves the ocean. All the scuba and fishing equipment and extra ice boxes for storage just screams adventurer. I'm a big fan of the lower HP more range yachts, where are you trying to go so fast across the ocean? You're on your Multi-million dollar yacht, slow down and enjoy it! Great tour as always!
Love this boat, as all the feeling of classic yachts whilst being light and airy. With beautiful doors off master's bedroom. Practical styles and not tacky like many luxury yachts. Thanks Nick for the tour. 👍
Such a beautiful boat, very well thought out. I do love nordhavens for how practical they are, and having been to sea many a times, function over form is preferable. And Nordhavn seems to have the best mix of form and function. I like the galley and the partition that was lowered. So you could be more family style with this vessel or host a party. Thank you for the tour, both the owner and Aquaholics.
Many a yacht will acomidate several "friends" for a shared journey in calm waters. But this yacht will do that in ANY sea state AND with luxury to boot. Beauty boat Nick - thanks to all (including those patiently waiting on the dockl).
If you are looking for rugged, safe, very long legs and still luxurious then this is it. You get a lot of quality for the money compared to more flashy yachts. I would go for one of the smaller ones to be able to run it without a crew - but I can see the enticement of this size. Great little ship.
That is one lump of a stunning boat. $9.5M is a lot of spondoolies but I think you get a hell of a lot more for your money than on a super yacht. Thank you, Nick. Fingers crossed for your 0.5 million
What a great yacht . . Beautifull inside . . A couple of questions : When the ship is cruising . Are the wing stations active or do they get switched over from the main helm in order to opperate ??. . Also . With the rubish . Food scraps being biodegradable do they get thrown over the side or stored some where for shore side disposal . . Another great video Nick . Always a highlite of my viewing week . Best nordhavn I've seen yet
Fantastic boat, the best laid out Nordhavn i've seen, shame it's made of fiberglass, in Ali or steel it'd be perfect, another great tour thanks Nick.
Now you are talking, Nick! This is a proper yacht and little ship.
Absolutely brilliant -- #superyacht and #video -- just ❤this! #Nordhavn did very well on the design and build. But of course, any owner's stateroom which has it's own balcony gets points added. Many thanks! 🍷🤗
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Very nice , always enjoy a Nordhavn tour , just something about them , this example is on another level, thanks Nick
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 😃
Very nice Bridge area! Looks pretty sweet! 👍👍
The best Nordhaven you’ve ever Shown. Wit the God Father music in the back ground. What a yacht
These people certainly know how to build a boat. A proper work tool.
Very impressive all round. Super engine room and performance.
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
Magnificent tour of a magnificent yacht! Everything designed for durability and comfort. Thank you Nick!
My pleasure!
Love this boat, as all the feeling of classic yachts whilst being light and airy. With beautiful doors off master's bedroom. Practical styles and not tacky like many luxury yachts. Thanks Nick for the tour. 👍
My pleasure! 🙂
Our pleasure!
Many a yacht will acomidate several "friends" for a shared journey in calm waters.
But this yacht will do that in ANY sea state AND with luxury to boot.
Beauty boat Nick - thanks to all (including those patiently waiting on the dockl).
I'm glad that you liked it 🙂
Absolutely outstanding. Thank you Nick.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Beautiful, love the Tom Ford sunglasses. Thank you Sir Nick
Thank you kindly! 😎
Big Nordhavn fan and this one doesnt disappoint, while may superyachts are all a bit samey Nordhavns really stand out.
Very Impressive, I am not a big fan of expensive superyachts, however, this Nordhaven is an excellent combination of space, luxury and practicality.
Best Nordhaven I've seen yet.
Great Wave, as always.
I do like the Nordies, and this combination of luxury and hardy practicality is a wonderful example of why!
Nearly there! 😃
love this yacht and how functional it is, made for actual use. some yachts can seem like theyre made exclusively for shows😅
96 feet of absolute loveliness.
What a great yacht . . Beautifull inside . .
A couple of questions :
When the ship is cruising . Are the wing stations active or do they get switched over from the main helm in order to opperate ??. .
Also
. With the rubish . Food scraps being biodegradable do they get thrown over the side or stored some where for shore side disposal . .
Another great video Nick . Always a highlite of my viewing week .
Till next time take care .
Bye from NZ 🇳🇿🍻👋twa
Another excellent yacht and video Nick ⛵️🛥🚤👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! 🙂
Thank you for the tour of this wonderful, perfect ship. You are the best.
You're very kind! 😃
