Nice mini tour of the fish room! Looking forward to what you and Cory will cook up when he returns.

If the fish are happy, and you are happy, cool. If the sad tank in the corner doesn't bring you Joy, pass it on to someone who will enjoy having it. Only keep in your life, what makes your life better. Take care, be well

The 125 is my favourite tank you have, it just has such cool fish and looks so good. I’m gonna be setting up a Lake Tanganyika community in my new 65 gallon and I hope it will look as good as yours.

One of my favorite things about your videos is you show tanks after they have been set and running for a bit. This helps me so much.

Understocking is such a valuable tool to make the tanks easier to maintain. Lowering the bioload and having extra filtration is one of my key methods for keeping things stable.

Your 60 gallon looks perfect to me! And entertaining with your puffers and cory cats. I'm interested in what you'll do with that back corner tank. Since you're going to keep it, I know whatever you do will be phenomenal. These things take time.
Looking forward to Cory's visit to your place, as well. Best regards always! x

Shell Dwellers do two things well and constantly, dig and rearrange the substrate and breed. A tank with a few fish will become crowded in time.

What happens if u let a brackish tank go fresh all the way. I only been topping off with fresh water since setting one up?

Hi Taz.. there has been a study recently and in the UK we have found that beak trimming can be reduced by live feeding mealworms and keeping Amazon Puffers in a tank with sand substrate. Does this help or have you heard different..

Hello and thanks for your perspective on how less can be more in this hobby! I was wondering if there were sponge filters on your puffer tank. The water is clear but I didn’t see a lot of water movement.

I totally understand as far as making things easier and taking down a few tanks. I started out with 23 tanks and now down to 10 tanks. It does get overwhelming sometimes. I had tanks in everyroom, everywhere I spent time, there was a tank. Now mainly there are 5 in the living room and three in the bedroom with axolotls. Yeah, I got a tank like that, not real enthoused about it but hubby doesn't want me to take it down for all the money we spent on setting it up. I may keep the larger tank 125 and the turtles there are three of those. I don't really know yet myself. We'll see.

Cyps would still be a great addition. The shellies will still swim up to feed and, as the cyps breed, it may set off more breeding in the others. The only risk would be the calvus taking all the cyp fry.

That tank looks like a shrimp tank! The corner one.
Would it fit where the shelving is and the shelving fit where the tank is?

Agree. That tank is so ready to rock shrimp. Especially Sulawesi. Would be what I would do if it was my party there.

Putting Calvus in with shell dwellers, is that a long term thing? I wanted to do that, but then became concerned that the calvus would eat the Shellies. Everyone says you should avoid keeping calvus with anything that could fit into its mouth, but no-one says what size that is! So, back to the Shellies (and other fish)...what size would they need to be in order to not end up on the menu for a full grown calvus?
    cheers.

Hi. I have a DWARF cichlid aquarium. It recently occurred to me that there are a lot of SMALL Cichlids that are NOT dwarf (particularly Lake Tanjanyikan fish), I'm well aware there are plenty of large fish from thst area.
What would you say is the DIFFERENCE between a SMALL Cichlid & a DWARF Chichlid? They can be the same size yet some are not classed as dwarf.

Odd question here, but how did you go about hanging those circular fans to the ceiling? Did you rig them up there? Or is it an option with that particular fan. XD thanks.!

They have mounting holes on the back, so I put some screws in the ceiling and slid them on.

Zenzo how do I go about splitting my multi colony? They have outgrow their 40 breeder. Should I pick a certain area where it appears to be a family and move the family to the new tank?

When ever I do that, I just take a bunch of shells from one area as well as the adults that I can catch. They'll figure it out! LOL
