I need to drill some holes this year, I already have the tools and found some extra styrofoam. I usually cover the cords with "snow" but your way looks easier in the long run. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Learning a lot..

If burying the cords seem like too much work, you could always cover them with white medical/electrical/duct tape before you add loose snow. I've done that too. 😃

@@TheasChristmasVillages Thank you! I usually just wing my village every year and it's always so different. I'm looking to a more permanent setting for some of the houses and I love your idea.

Just a suggestion but, I use the HWFF tool to carve holes and channels for the cords. For me it is less messy. Really like your work.🤗

You are absolutely right, I've used the hot knife before to make holes, but I thought I'd give the drill a try. Sure was messy though! Thanks!

what is the pink stuff you put on the foam before painting?

@@cathyedwards-n9r it's called poly-filla or spackling. It comes in pink or white. The pink changes to white as it dries, that's how you know it's dry enough to paint. The reason I use spackling is to seal the styrofoam before painting. Otherwise it just soaks up the paint which then disappears (learned that the hard way🙂)!
