Thank you! Just bought a '14 S4. It is lowered slightly and I immediately noticed the headlights were not projecting far enough at all. It was actually kind of dangerously unlevel. Not sure how the previous owner dealt with it. Was considering an OBDEleven for the blinker wink elimination and then saw this video. Bought it immediately. Not an hour ago I went out and ran it and just like yours it auto adapted with no need to manual adjust. Great product, great video! Thanks! Will def recommend both!
@@dannya8833 I don't recall the process since I watched and did this a couple years ago, but yes, they corrected themselves to level once I ran through this videos process.
@@jasonccolon awesome! For over a year since lowered I’ve been like what the hell with the distance of my lights. Bought hi xtreme V2’s and wasn’t fully impressed until I found out I gotta adjust them! Haha thanks
you guys mention channel 11 for the headlight adjustment for this car. how about where we can find the channels for ours and is there a list for audis?
I don’t know why this video is still up. Plenty of people complaining about the auto leveling control throwing an error code and being unable to fix it. Doing research the only way to fix it is to bring it to Audi and pay $300 to have them recalibrate it. Usually these tutorials are helpful but this one just costed me $300.
Be aware that for the iOS version of OBDEleven (version 1.7.0 at the time of writing this) there exists a bug that prevents the headlight adaptation to finish. If you follow the steps in this video verbatim, it will fail and will leave your headlights stuck in alignment mode generating fault code: "01539 - headlights were not adjusted." You must do this procedure only through the Android version OBDEleven.
Just did the adaptation through iOS app and then found this after the error where it could not complete the adaptation, need to find an android device to see if it will fix it
Great Video! I am not sure about the B8.5 but on my B8 there is a left to right adjustment screw on the headllight as well. Its hidden in the corner of the light beside the fender!
Heya, I’m wondering, do you turn the screw clockwise or anti clockwise to raise the beam for a lowered car? Also I have an Audi 2013 B8.5 A4 2.0T. Is the code ‘011’ also??
I just bought an obdeleven tool and I own a 2007 mk5 fsi any video to help with using this tool with my car would be great especially with controlling the valves and solenoids for the evap system
I have a 2008 mk5 gti with a droopy drivers side headlight. My car is not lowered. I temporarily fixed the problem by manually adjusting the headlight up to an acceptable height. But now the flash to pass lights are aimed at the tops of pine trees. How can I diagnose and fix the actual problem? I have obdeleven with pro. Love the show. Thanks.
No need to know the channel. Just go to module 55, Basic settings, and there will be a drop down menu to put in service mode and acknowledge the settings.
Congrats on the video! Is this also how you test if the sensors/motors of the headlights are working? Or is there another step just to test their movement?
Great video! I tried using this to get rid of my dipped headlight error, but ran into an error upon holding the check mark. "(22) Functions cancelled, marginal conditions have not been met. " How can I fix this?
So, is this also applicable for a VW Golf/Scirocco MY2013? I got a notice at the yearly inspection for too low headlight with Xenon lights. At start you can see adjustment (when its dark) but apparantly not enough, because the light is too close to the car ahead of it on the ground.
Can you code out the adaptive headlight option using this tool? I am getting the error and just want to code it out so it thinks that I have non-AFS headlights.
Audi states B8.5 xenon's do not need side to side adjustment as xenon's are low narrow beam. Effective at giving light directly in front of the vehicle. Normal headlights are 'wide beam's which means they are wide and light is dispersed beyond where the lens is directing the light. So no side to side adjustment necessary. My B8.5 has adaptable headlights so you can have them follow the steering under suitable cornering speeds which does dip the headlight range. Handy out of town where there is not much street lighting.
What’s the danger zone of the manual adjustment. My sensor is broken, constantly adjusting up and down. I pulled the fuse and it’s ok but a little low. I did one full rotation on the screw “up”and it helped a lot but I wouldn’t mind it a little higher.
I Have a 2013 Audi S7 that I purchased used at 110, 000 km. At 81,000 km they changed under Warranty the turbos and other work that involved removing the grill and front bumper. Don’t know how the previous owner copped with it but the head lights beam is too low and to drive it securely I have to put on the high beams. I’m thinking what ever work they did may have caused this? Can I use the same channel 011 for my 2013 S7?
did this and now i’m getting a ‘headlight range control defective’ fault code popping up on my dash. i try to clear it in obd11 but 5 seconds later it pops up again. my headlights are in a perfect position now though, so i’m not sure what to do
