Aspinall ruled out fighting Pereira unless it was for undisputed just a day or two ago.
He has said he’s fighting for undisputed next, and won’t take any more risks.
Aspinall’s said that in his last yt video, but I believe the real reason behind it is that Pereira is the one that only wants to fight for the HW undisputed title.
After people started speculating about Alex moving up to heavyweight after beating Jiri, Alex said that he doesn’t care if it’s Jon Jones or Aspinall, but if he moves up to HW, he wants to fight for the real title
@@gabrielsanto2705 that’s inherent in what I said … if the undisputed title was on the line, he would fight Pereira (or anyone else)
But it won’t be, because the UFC refuses to strip Jones, so any fight in November could only be an interim title defence … and Aspinall has ruled that out, thus any fight with Pereira is also ruled out (and Pereira ruled out anything less than undisputed weeks ago, as you note)
UFC won’t ever let Alex move up, he’s a cash cow and Tom will stop him being that, same with Jon

Problem is, idk if Tom beats alex, Tom allowed himself to get hit by scary opponents like Pavlovich and while he got away with it, Alex is a whole new beast. And Alex would not be a good champion I think. He's 37, hes only a few big fights away from retiring himself. and Retiring with 2 belts would be a disaster for the UFC
At this point aspinall should demand his current win along with his future wins get added as defenses and he gets the rubies on the belt

Not sure why the media is trying to drum up interest in the Aspinal Pereira matchup. Who wants to watch that? Aspen is a butt much better wrestler and his striking is superb as well and he’s a natural heavyweight. I’m just not sure there’s any real interest in this fight

Not to get into a huge debate on this but the Heavy weight division is in sad shape. Francis is looking for a job :)
Seriously though Alex isn’t a real heavy weight and having him gain weight to support or save the HW division is a sad choice in my opinion. Let him own the 205 belt and if naturally he struggles with losing weight to get to 205 then think about a move up. Just not ready to see him move up. Want a Jones fight? Have him move down to fight Alex. That’s a fight! Even though Alex is in his prime and Jones is likely at the end of his. Someone has to take the belt from Jon. He seems to be the type to fight until he’s a dum dum.
Since joining the UFC, Aspinall is 8-1 and has finished all eight of his opponents in a collective time of 13 minutes and six seconds. Aspinall has a 15 second loss where he messed up his leg in the first Blaydes fight. Aspinall has dispatched five top contenders including Spivac(9), Volkov(3), Tybura(8), Pavlovich(4) and Blaydes(5) in nine minutes and 37 seconds in total.
Stipe will be 42 by the time he fights and the last time he fought was March 27, 2021 and he got knocked out by Ngannou. Stipe has zero wins against any contenders in the heavyweight division.
Jon Jones ducked Ngannou, got beat up by Reyes, went to a decision against Anthony Smith LOL and lost on one of the score cards to Thiago Santos. Thiago Santos's knees were gone after the second round and Thiago Santos would later be cut from the UFC after losing four of his next five fights.

It's not Alex's style to tease without being provoked. An example of this is the Alex x Jiri post-fight interview, Joe begged him to make a statement calling out Jones, but he was restrained.

If the belt is on the line he can't skip past Tom , Dana has already stated Aspinall gets the winner of Stipe vs Jones if the winner hangs around, the only thing that could happen apart from an injury stopping Aspinall from fighting is if Stipe wins , if Stipe wins the UFC probably calls for a rematch
@@aronlane4664 Putting faith in the pronouncements of Dana White will not serve you. Dana only ever says what he wants you to think. It need have no connection to reality or his real intentions. The argument against Dana allowing Jones/Pereira is that Dana hates fighters holding two belts. But he likes money, and selling Jon putting his legacy on the line could be quite lucrative.

Comparing Smith to Yoel is kind of absurd. Yoel is insanely durable and can end a fight at any moment, whereas Smith is a 50/50 fighter who covers up at the first onslaught of adversity.

Alex fighting Tom is unnecessary. Aspinal should fight Ciryl Gane. If he beats Gane a fight with Jones could be justified. But say Miochic beats Jones Aspinal vs Miochic would be interesting.
Gane has proven to not be well rounded enough for the UFC standards. His takedown defense is non existent. His wrestling is not great. It would be a lopsided predictable outcome. I do think they should quickly move on Alex vs Aspinall. considering bones keeps delaying his fight with stipe

What needs to happen is the winner of Stipe vs Jones fights the winner of Aspinal vs Pereria. The first fights need to happen on the same night and the next fight needs to be scheduled that night or within the week.
Stipe and Jones both will retire. That's why they are keeping Alex available. After the Stipe and The HW Duck retire Tom vs Alex would be for the title.

I'd rather see Alex fight Jon than Tom, and I'd rather see Jon fight Tom than Alex. If Stipe doesn't retire after he KOs Jon, we can do Tom vs. Stipe and Alex vs. Jon, the winner of which would feed into the winner of Tom vs. Stipe (in all likelihood, Tom). If Stipe does retire after he KOs Jon, then do Jon vs. Tom, and hopefully Jon would want to stick around and try to go out on a win by fighting Alex, but after being KOd twice in a row, Alex will put him down for a third time.
I love alex, but he should be careful making this fight toms a heavy hitter

Tom is a real heavyweight, so Jon would prove to be able to dominate this weight class as well. However he knows that s very risky, his chances against Alex are much greater

Jones retires and vacates the belt after he beats miocic in November than Alex vs Tom undisputed HW strap or for Tom's first official title defense in late december. Than let's say McGregor vs chandler at 170 is the main event of that fight card. Would be insanity. Yes Jones vs any of them is better bit if Jones doesn't want to fight anymore this is what I think will happen.
All this works for timing and what's going on with Alex and ankoleav right now. Alex said he wants to fight December and t9m said he will only fight for undisputed hw strap. It all works and Jones is saying he's retired by the end of the year. Depends on how he beats miocic and how he feels and how much Dana offers him I guess so we will see after the miocic fight. If Jones runs through miocic and feels healthy he might stick around for the right money.
