There's something with v10 engine sound. It has some kind like "background" sound that empowers the high-pitched main sound. Just like a guitar that surrounded by saxophone and piano. Not just sound, it creates music!
It’s a perfect 5. There’s a reason why the Audi straight 5 and any V10s all sound amazing (besides a stock Viper). 5 connected vibrations at once makes the most appealing noise to the ears, and a V10 has two of those.

Truly unbelievable sound. We used to own one of these with 646bhp. Very lovely motor. Fastest I went in it (on an old airfield near York) was 186mph. What a beast it was. Now have got an I3S all electric BMW. Still miss the sound of M5.
As long as you replace the factory rod bearings and keep up with regular maintenance(considering the car has a good service history), the s85 is a pretty damn reliable engine
Am I the only one to arrive at a conclusion that the sound of V10 in E60 M5 resembles the sound of WWII Stuka bomber siren? Great car, they don't make such cars these days
