BMW M5 E60 // How we ERASE 90k miles & 17 Years by Restoration Detailing

- The legendary BMW E60 M5 with its thunderous naturally-aspirated V10 rolled in to our shop to be restored back to former glory - and we brought out all the stops. We had a lot of factory orange peel to remove on this restoration detailing, so color sanding is where we spent the majority of our time on this build.
This project was completed over several months - consisting of a full dry ice cleaning of the undercarriage and wheel wells, a wash, painted calipers, color sanding and paint correction, ceramic coating, parts replacement, headlight restoration, and finished with an interior detailing that any clean freak would be proud of
This BMW M5 came for what we've coined the Restoration Detailing - when it's more than a detail, but not quite a total restoration. What do you think of this M5 after it had the I AM Detailing treatment?

Pro tip!
E60s like to clog the e-box (electronics box) drain with gunk.
Worst case it can waterlog the engine computer!
Right fender liner, rear lower section, remove small panel, peel back uppee panel a little, look up for J shaped rubber drain piece, remove and clean, to keep original, zip tie "flap of drain J rubber piece" to wiring in that area!
Functional detail tip there!
I'm sure you could just remove that J rubber too.
Looking good that M5. The smg is not such a bad system either!
I'm exhausted just watching, gonna go for a nap 😅
I know these are expensive but you added at least triple what it cost in resale value. Good job as always.
Thank you! 🤌🫡
I'm asking to get an idea of the prices. How much are they?
@@levo3456 About £20k on average in the UK for a M5 E60 V10
@@purplemenace8819 thnx
Not that much but I believe it will add minimum 20% of cars value
Harder the challenge, the bigger the reward guys! Awesome episode!
Imagine being the mechanic that services this when it gets up on his lift🥲🥲🥲🥲. The sheer happiness would have me crying in the shop. 😊
I had my 993 C4 250K km, dry ice cleaned before selling it. (Incidentally how I found this channel)
The buyer had a pre sale inspection done at a Porsche specialist, after putting it on the ramps the inspector took off his gloves.
😉
True. And you just made me laugh!!!!
Love these comments :)
Sad part is that this bmw is bound to be in a mechanic shop probably for rod knock smh
@@pmiles7093 with how this is being taken care of currently I don’t think that will be an issue. Plenty of S85s that just lack the proper care taker. I’ve got a buddy with one at 190k with new rod bearings. Runs like a top!
Another spectacular job! Just meticulous work. I aspire to be able to make a vehicle sparkle like this someday.
I care more about all the cool Volvos in the background that are better than the 17 year old BMW. All those Volvos are older the 17 year old BMW and still going love it love.
BMWs always look great in black. And those M cars are awesome. But this restoration detail is next level
Thanks Craig! 🫡🙌🏽
I love the part of the orange peel removal. To get the paint better than factory. AMAZING!!
WOW! The finish on that metallic body paint! So inspiring 👍👌😎
Amazing! The amount of attention to the details is insane!
Great content! Your detailing skills make this great looking car, simply stunning.
Nothing like rolling back the clock to what I like to call “better than showroom condition” great detail y’all.
Incredible Job Restoring this V10 M5!!!
Absolutely Stunning!
You guys are legendary. Amazing workmanship.
love it! This Dry Ice set up is insane 😲
Nothing is more satisfying than seeing an old car getting refreshed and brand new again, my car is Black and I know the pain of having black car. Awesome job, I wish I could do the same to my one. Keep posting more please
Wow, you guy take pride in your work, the attention to details.
Jakub is the best in the business. A true artist. Great video once again!
What a ride, what a job! Satisfying as my first cup o' joe on this Fall morning in Jersey 🏁🏁🏁
Me, too. From Texas.
Thanks Peter! This was a special one!
Beautiful work!!!
Absolutely beautiful, great video thanks for sharing it with us all
Fantastic attention to detail
In my opinion the nicest 5 series of all time.

Another service I can add to my detailing business 🙌🏾
Immaculate job as usual...
Now, this car came out awesome. It's really a show stopper.
Just WOW the car looks absolutely amazing 😮
#respect from Azerbaijan... with love
Absolutely phenomenal!
Great video!! No one talking, good music, good captions, straight to the point, before and afters, shows some products used and finish off with a drive off the lot.
The only thing missing was not showing us the after of the steering wheel😢
Fantastic workmanship!! 👌
Unbelievably great job!!!
WELL DONE! AMAZING.
It deserves a BIG LIKE!
Beautiful car! Beautiful work!
I need to send you my e60m5 and my e28m5! I’m right next door in Huntington Beach. Beautiful work!
We’d love that! We’re a BMW family here ;)
Impressive transformation.
My favourite looking M5 of all time, even at present! 0:01
Such a looker!
Очень крутая работа, мне кажется, что машина стала лучше чем новая. 🎉🎉🎉 Вы профессионалы.
That was impressive !
Wow, just wow!
Superb job
❤one of the best product ever made by BMW if not THE BEST
Now you made it awesome as usual with you guys
Super Bimmer ❤❤❤❤
Keep it pushing
Thanks buddy!
Not really. It's one of the greatest cars you SHOULDN'T own. If you get the 6 speed manual it's a little better/forgiving. But these cars are plagued with soooo many problems and finicky bs. The SMG trans in these cars are hot garbage. My dad bought one from Carmax and the trans took a shit in 2 days 😂....luckily he was able to get his money back.
BMW had the chance to make these cars absolutely elite, but they fucked it up. The E39 M5 is much better, and arguably the pinnacle of a proper sport saloon.
Beautiful work, wish a workshop like this existed here in Kuwait. I'd drop off my car to get it properly detailed and leave it in safe hands👏🏻
Dry ice blaster. That's a new one. Good job
You are one of the best, or the best, in the business. Really curious how much a Detail job like this goes for?
Its really amazing. It's become brand new car OEM i love it so much ❤❤
Just like right off the assembly line! 👍👍👍👍
Thats detailing 👌
Wow, amazing love video
DUDE! THAT EXHAUST SOUND... !
INCREDIBLE
BEAUTIFUL
Great job
That M5 is a beautiful looking beast. German quality is top class ❤
I love the BMW M5 E60 so mutch its cool to all guys like and love this car its REALY LEGENDARY CARRR!!!!❤❤
That car is a piece of art - But your work is mesmerizing
Mind blowing !!!
Channel really does have the right and wrong name at the same time... Should be called I AM GOD. Your work is beyond something that can be valued in money, When you work like this (with heart, soul and passion) to get these results and even pay attention to details that no one will ever even see it means that you work beyond the highest known standard in detailing, something that should not be done to any and every car, but only to chosen examples that are part of the pinnacle of automotive history, I salute your work and you can count on me to be subscribed to follow your work, you are not a detailer, you are an artist... a restorer. just wow!
Greetings from Germany and thank you again to bringing this german master piece to perfection
It's just eye catching ! If the mechanical part is not in good condition: whether the bodywork is beautiful or not, it will not change the fact that it is a wreck
Car is in absolute primo mechanical condition - PO took amazing care of the car. M5s from this era came with a lot of orange peel from the factory - so that was where the majority of this work lied
Kallou YOU UNDERSTAND. It's completely useless if you don't restore the engine and mechanical. It's just a cosmetic marketing stuff to hide the car age.
Dry ice for the inner door rubber seals? Wow I've never seen that. Nice job!
Amazing work! Makes me want to get out there and wash my car 😁
Nice work! What kind of steam brush is this to remove oxidation from the stainless steel exhaust pipes? I have never seen something like that. Thanks!
Just a quick drive around the block to warm everything up.....proceeds to doing a burnout...😂
🤣🙌🏽
Che bellezza... Un, piacere per gli occhi!
OMG nice job btw this car is my dream car
Beautiful car
the last good looking M5 ❤
Great attention to detail, however buffing the headlights is only a temporary solution. Unless you coat them with 3 good coats of 2k clearcoat, they will, unfortunately become dull after a few months.
You're correct, when I detail anything and flat and polish the headlights I always clear coat them, otherwise all that work has been in vain.
Richtig cooles Auto mit sehr gutem Motor. Eins der besten Autos die gebaut wurden. 😁
Fantastic 😍 waiting one more video with e60///M5 🙏❤️🔥🔥🔥
Un super boulot exceptionnel
What a legendary car
I’ve watched detailing videos for like 15 years and I also do detailing/paint corrections. I’ve never seen a paint correction as good as this one! Amazing work
completely useless if you don't restore the engine. It's just a cosmetic marketing stuff .
great job 👏
7 stars shop🤝💪🏻💪🏻
Super Video Thank you 😍😚🥰👍👌🤟💞💕
Perfect 👏👏👏👏
What a car. Wow
This car is a masterpiece...
Hello, please I wanted to know what tool is that that you use when you do the dry ice cleaning to clean the rust on the exhaust pipes and mufflers that has a brush on the tip and it seems that it will expel super hot steam? Thanks
Any tips on what products you recommend as Compound/Polish? Have my BMW with Color Carbon black and it could use a nice Polish !
Hands the best detailing I’ve seen. Keep up the great work and I’ll bring one of my cars up to you guys.
That’s a ton of work and it looks amazing. 👍The sanding and orange peel removal make a huge difference, but seems like it would remove a lot of clear coat. It wasn’t shown, do you measure paint depth before doing it to see if there is enough clear coat left? If so, do you know how much gets removed from the process?
Yeah, I was going to say, wouldn't sanding it make the clear coat super thin? I would PPF the whole car after sanding, else, I'd rather have orange peel than thin clear coat that limits the number of paint corrections in the future
what do you use to remove exhaust stains?
Dream car😳🤤
You should paint inside of the exhaust pipes black
Plus ceramic coating on those rock chips?
Wow! Another great one! Good job guys.
You are the best :))
gr8 job
Impressive! Do you leave the option to keep the orange peel? Some people like it (me included).
Hi, Thanks for the Video, What type of brush do you recommend for cleaning BMX X5 Leather? Thank you!
So much better with the sound off
Great job and attention to detail. Must be such a shame after all that effort to still have a stone chipped bumper and bonnet when all finished. 😢
14:43 whats that little light bulb looking thing on the left side
above the interior light scroll wheel
What product did you use to clean the leather? The result was incredible!
I'm in 😮😮😮😮 i need this done on my cars
this véhicule.. 😍❤
I really need my self a dry ice blaster
I get the keeping it original, but surely a bonnet and bumper spray to get rid of stone chips if you’ve gone to all the trouble of wet sanding and dry icing everywhere
Superb bicep btw 👌🏻
Having never sanded paint i always cringe when i see your techs sand but results are unmistakably beautiful.
13:35 what type od 3M Scotch tape did you use? There's a lot of them
