Best demo I've seen on the Roland Blues Cube. Gary plays guitar brilliant, really makes the amp to sound superb. It's amazing the tone and versatility just stock or with the tone capsules. Kudos to Roland and Gary Cook.
Great demo and a very cool piece of gear! Your playing always blows me away. I still have vivid memories of you melting faces at the Grove School of Music.
I liked the NY Tone Capsule and use it as well! It adds that extra amount of gain similar to the British amps. This amp is awesome for recording. Great product!
This is a great video! Love the playing and the tone! I wish Roland would sell the switcher. I have all four tone capsules and would like to switch quickly between them.
FilippaQ Me too...they're fantastic amps, aren't they? It's a shame that so many people are blinkered, just because it doesn't have tubes! Have you tried any of the tone capsules?
Very versatile playing! Gary sounds authentic and expressive in each style. Nice amp for sure, but I'm even more impressed with Gary's playing than the amp.
I own the Blues Cube Artist myself....and this is one of the best videos showcasing this Great amp. This guy can play and these tone capsules, although expensive, I believe would be worth having....it would be like having 2 great amps in 1. Hey Roland how bout sending me one!
Robert...thanks for the kind words. I tried to play what the amp wanted me to! lol It is definitely a Blues Experience. It would be cool to have a Tone Selector that was foot switchable. So many cool sounds!
what a great sounds and playing. Problem is: we (guitarist) will be able to get all these sounds in one programmable amp with footswich. We don't want to buy all the capsules. And we don't want to make a decission for one capsule. So make an amp with all these sounds in it and you will have a bestseller
I bought the Artist today and will be here in 1 week and really excited. But I agree as the each capsule adds a special and unique voice but each costs as much as a moderately expensive pedal.
By all means, do it! It's a custom device developed specifically for demo's ..... your build would simply be yours ..... just make one specific feature different, and there you go.
I've owned one for about 1.5 years. Great amp. EJ and Ultimate Blues tone capsules work as advertised and sound great. I love this amp! So, so flexible and true. Hey, if EJ and RF endorse it, what can I say?
Why did you sell it? I bought one and plugged in for less than 5 minutes before putting it back in the box and returning. The Jazz Chorus is a superior amp for cleans. The "overdrive" on this amp doesn't sound or feel good at all.
I and you could build one of those multiple tone capsule boxes. All you need is to make a wood cabinet, some sheet metal, a black marker, screws, a selector switch, some 12 or 16 gauge wire, and of course the individual tube sockets, then wire the box, then run the wires out to a pin to pin tube insert base that you insert into the existing socket in the rear of the amp and finally you would need to purchase the individual tone capsules. A doable project. Just need the over $1,000 for the 4 tone capsules and maybe $80-$120 for the parts. You would need the tools and the skills as well.
Great demo, but what I don't like is with the capsules he only uses the Gibson and not the Fender... I would haver really liked to hear the sound of both guitars with every capsule...
Players pay MORE than $299 for many, many different types of stomp boxes. So, what's "off the hook" about a single component that significantly transforms the amp into another amp?

first... gary rocks. second, this is by far the best review of the tone capsules i've seen.
Gary tearin' it up and breakin' it down! This was a fun session to play on! Thanks Gary!
What the heck did they put in the water in ya'lls hood;)
Great demo and a very cool piece of gear! Your playing always blows me away. I still have vivid memories of you melting faces at the Grove School of Music.
I’m using the New York tone capsule and there’s a lot off extra respons and funckrock in the Blues Cube. Love it!
I liked the NY Tone Capsule and use it as well! It adds that extra amount of gain similar to the British amps. This amp is awesome for recording. Great product!
This guy's got a really great touch. I've never heard of him, but he's seriously talented and dedicated. Kudos to Gary!
This is a great video! Love the playing and the tone! I wish Roland would sell the switcher. I have all four tone capsules and would like to switch quickly between them.
"Relatively" quickly ...... you still have to re-boot the amp after switching with that device (off-on).
Great tones, and awesome playing!
Well produced video. Amazing playing.
I have the Blues Cube Artist, and I love it :D
FilippaQ Me too...they're fantastic amps, aren't they? It's a shame that so many people are blinkered, just because it doesn't have tubes! Have you tried any of the tone capsules?
me too! i would like to try robber ford and ultimate blues tone capsules! BC artist is very good amp!
I have not tried the capsules. I think they are a little too expensive for me :)
FilippaQ Yes they are expensive but for me it’s a genial idea. If they sounds like a video in fact it’s like having more amps....
I will try one day. First I need to buy better light and an acoustic mic for my videos :D
Very versatile playing! Gary sounds authentic and expressive in each style. Nice amp for sure, but I'm even more impressed with Gary's playing than the amp.
Glen Cummings Yeah, he’s a fantastic player!
Jeez, this guy is a monster player. How have I never heard of him?
Great playing !

Gary Daniel Cook I agree...thanks for such a great review.
" ... .it would be like having 2 great amps in 1 " More like FIVE amps in one .... the stock sound, plus one additional amp per TC.
The dirty channel with the capsules is Honk City. Plus the EJ model kills all the highs.
Does the Roland Steve Vai capsule work in Artist?

Very nice demo. Great guitar player.
I like the hat...heck you already know that i DIG YOUR PLAYIN'
Roland makes good amp 👌
I wonder if I started making those switch boxes if I would get sued ?

The question that comes to mind is, why did you got rid of it then?
Why did you sell it? I bought one and plugged in for less than 5 minutes before putting it back in the box and returning. The Jazz Chorus is a superior amp for cleans. The "overdrive" on this amp doesn't sound or feel good at all.
@@xb5883 what on earth inspired you to play the guitar then...a gun to the head? Try the trumpet.
Great player
Great player. What Les Paul is that exactly? It looks like a Brazilian fret board. And I am curious as to what pickups are in it? Nice LPS tone.
Hey i went to check out one and it dosent have tremolo o FX loop? Why is that?
You were looking at the wrong BC .... ?!?!? The Artist model has both trem & FX loop.

So, ..... DO IT. If it works, built & list one on eBay as a prototype for a reasonable price and you'll get an instant sale. " Future Now "
Hello, nice sounds and very, very nice playing! Anyone have more info on the guitarist (Gary Cook) since I couldn't dig him up online?
Hugo Jacquet in case this is still relevant... www.eastmanguitars.com/gary_cook
Please update roland cube jam to ios 11
Came here for the amp review - left looking for a Gary Cook C D.
Bravissimo
hello,wath's the pickup stratocaster?
Can you put a tone capsule in the head version
my favorite: 1:10 4:25
Great demo, but what I don't like is with the capsules he only uses the Gibson and not the Fender... I would haver really liked to hear the sound of both guitars with every capsule...
Wrong ..... for example, he uses his tele with the RF capsule, since a tele is one of Robben's favorite guitars.
Sounds great for my electrics, but I am hoping to buy the same amp for my acoustics (both with LR Baggs anthems). Will the Blues Cube do it for me?
Neil Burnett - one year later but yes, the Sparkle Clean tube works really with acoustics.
What's the price on this bad boy?? And it's capsules?
what!! no Jazz cube tone capsule come on Roland
Well, it's coming soon now.
@@JohnsDough1918 is it out yet? i want one
up
No need .... proper EQ'ing & gain staging with either the stock amp sound, or the UB or NYB capsules does the trick.
Another try of Seymour Duncan 's amp modules?
What if you want to sound like Van Halen?Do I have to another one of those things?
Vincent Castillo hmmm probably want to look at an Orange Cr60 if you want to do it all Blues and Van Halen.
Why can't these 'capsule' digital effects be recreated with a cheap ME pedal? I'm calling BS...
streetlegal008 Or be
loaded into the amp via USB?!?!
The things have been out for years why on earth is the end cap 400$!!!plus shipping that's kinda a slap in the face
The price of the capsules is of the hook, no reason to charge that much
Players pay MORE than $299 for many, many different types of stomp boxes. So, what's "off the hook" about a single component that significantly transforms the amp into another amp?
Nice but🐥$$$!
A cap and sun glasses, this lad is seriously scared of being recognised.
Check out my dog!!! Amps were perfect in the 50s
