Great interview. Neal is my all-time favorite talent in comics. I've only spent limited amounts of time with him, but he had taught me so much in that time. But I know it was only scratching the surface. I really miss the man. It's so nice finding interviews like this. Thank you for the post and a great job!
Back in the late 1960's and early 1970's I bought as many issues Neal Adams drew as I could. In those days the prices were still affordable. First I started with the X-men issues 56 thru 63, then I was able to buy Green Lantern Green Arrow issues 76 thru 87. Next I was able to buy Deadman Strange Adventures issues 206 thru 210. The Amazing Adventures 5 thru 8 issues were rare, but I was patient and waited for them. The Avengers 93 thru 96 as they issued out. The Savage Sword of Conan and The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu (for the cover art) I wasn't able to buy The Spectre Neal Adams issues.
It sounds like you've picked up some amazing books there! I was fortunate enough to visit the comic book store he owned in California. He was still alive at the time, but unfortunately he wasn't there at the time so I didn't get to reconnect with him after this interview. He was definitely one of a kind! -G.Q.
He was an interesting man to speak with. The interview was only supposed to be a couple of minutes, but one he got started, his assistant knew to just stay out of the way lol. -G.Q.
@@CultureJunkies lol. Yeah I met Neal about a decade ago. It was a real honor to speak with him, he was just a straight forward and straight up guy, told it like he saw it
