    I have to add another Point here - The World's only known "Diamond Mines" existed only in India till 19th Century, Only later did British discover them in Africa. A Description of Dwarka (Legendary City of Krishna) describes Emeralds, Diamonds and Rubies decked on top of Buildings, would shine during Sunrise and Sunset, Giving the Entire City "Distinctive Hues" to any Traveler who entered the City.
    This was how Rich & Glorious Ancient Indian cities were !!! And of course, We all know about Diamonds that were looted by Invaders from Kohinoor to Peacock Throne of Shah Jehan, Built by siezing Tribute from Rajputs and other Indian Kings. In-fact Timur took back 200 Caravanserai of Camels worth of Riches back to Central Asia after his Plunder of Indian Cities. Even Children in India grew up knowing of Tales of how Vijayanagara Empire had Merchants selling Heaps of Diamonds on Roadsides.

    • @adityarajbasistha377
      @adityarajbasistha377 3 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      No man, he is talking about the wealth of a king which is actually the wealth of the kingdom. It is different today, as ambani or adani are businessmen and not the owners of this country. Yes, if one of them were kings then one of them would have had net worth equivalent to that of indias Gdp, then certainly one of them would have been the richest individual in the history of the world. Now imagine elon musk as the king of USA. Then he essentially owns the country. Hence, he now has a net worth of 21 trillion dollars and he is the richest individual in the history of the world and USA is the richest kingdom in the world :)
      The biggest flaw in your statement is that you are comparing individual wealth with countrys wealth. In current age this does not hold. In ancient times, king owned the country. Hence, he being rich, the country becomes rich

      "There is no one like India and Indians"
      You are correct and I completely agree with you. People will just say that I'm being an Indian nationalist/Hindu nationalist, but I genuinely believe that India is historically the most significant country of all time. Northwest India was the Proto-Indo-European homeland, Northeast India is the Proto-Sino-Tibetan homeland and South India is the Proto-Dravido-Koreo-Japonic homeland ( you can read more about the Dravido-Koreo-Japonic language family here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dravido-Korean_languages ). I also genuinely believe that human civilisation itself began in India (not Mesopotamia).
      We Indians were the first people to declare anywhere in the world thousands of years ago through our Vedic scriptures "Vasudhaiva kutumbakam" (which in Sanskrit means "The world is one family"). Furthermore, Lord Krishna also states in the Bhagavad Gita in Chapter 5, Verse 18: "The learned, with the eyes of divine knowledge, see with equal vision a priest, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater."
      Also, we Indians were the first people to declare anywhere in the world thousands of years ago through our Vedic scriptures the fundamental oneness of all living things, for example the Katha Upanishad says: "As the same fire assumes different shapes when it consumes objects differing in shape, so does the one Self take the shape of every creature in whom He is present."
      Furthermore, we Indians were the first people to declare anywhere in the world thousands of years ago through our Vedic scriptures that we are all Pure Consciousness, which is infinite and eternal, experiencing life in a temporary human form (you can call Pure Consciousness 'God' if you want, but I don't, because the word 'God' has limiting religious connotations that I would rather avoid).
      India is the bridge that connects the West to the East. India is connected to the West (in places like America, Europe and Australia) through the Indo-European language family, while India is connected to the East (in places like China, Korea and Japan) through the Indian religion of Buddhism.
      We Indians have ALL the wisdom, strength and intelligence we need, the only thing most of us Indians lack today is SELF-RESPECT and we NEED to regain our self-respect NOW, my fellow Indians. BHARAT WILL RISE AGAIN! 😎

You can read her research to verify this exact figure.
      She has with evidences proved that about 1.8 billion Indians died unavoidably during the British Raj and about 45 trillion pounds were stolen by britishers from India from 1839-1939. We don't have the exact figure of amount stolen from 1939-1945 because of lack of any kind of census and record of tax collection, etc because of world War 2.

    GDP is a particular way to measure movement of money. Even if a country has great wealth, stale gold doesn't do much.
    India had an active economy, that's what GPD reflects.
    The place where there's the most gold is not the one with the strongest economy, or larger GDP, at any point in time. :)

    • @thecrimsondragon9744
      @thecrimsondragon9744 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Exactly, gold only has value because humans assigned it value based on the fact it looks nice and shiny and doesn't rust. Otherwise it has no inherent value. Give a starving man in the desert a mountain of gold, it will be of no use to him. You cannot eat gold. He will starve to death without proper food.
      There is a Native American saying:
      "When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money."

    Africa's contribution to the world GDP over the millennia is most likely downplayed once you get down to local civilizations it only gets intensified. After all, Mansa Musa crashed the Egyptian economy one of the richest countries in not just Africa but the world at the time for him to do that his net worth must have been well over $400B. So, if one man can have that much wealth just imagine the vastness of it in regards to his empire.

    I have done a extensive study of Jihad in Africa and how the kingdoms were taken and indigenous polytheistic communities transformed into Islamic one via Mujahhadins or ideologies like Dan Fedio. Yet the Western and African scholarship hypocritically talks of “ Islam” as indigenous to Africa!!! One except is the brilliant research by dr. Azuma who showed how Jihad is connected to the slave trade, racism, colonialism in transforming indigenous African communities. Some of South Asian historians and Otientalistsare equally hypocrites. Trying to portray “ Islam” as “ indigenous “ to South Asia. Muslims in SOuth Asia have the same DNA as Hindus but ideologically, except a few can they see colonize from the Arabic colonial power?

    I don’t think Mansi Munsa’s gold can actually have a value, he flooded places near Mecca with gold to an extent that gold became a cheap thing there creating an economic crisis. And that amount of gold was a small fraction of his net worth. I think he can be comparable to gengis khan’s empire that way. He was definitely worth more than 400 billion dollars

    But why are we comparing Mansa Moosa's wealth to a country's ? Why not compare it to a specific Indian person's in the same period?

    You cant estimate the value of Mansa Musa wealth ... he controlled the flow of GOLD, SALT, COPPER/BRONZE. Because he was Emperor so he was valued to be richest

    I am a big fan of Abhijit Sir, but I feel he missed the mark on this one. Isn’t this a bit like comparing apples to oranges? India was never politically united, in fact it’s more of a sub-continent. Comparing the Mail Empire to a whole sub-continent would not be an appropriate approach. Comparing the Mail Empire to one of the princely states would be more apt imho. And also, doesn’t Abhijit caution us about relying blindly on western sources of information. So why would we rely on that data without some healthy skepticism or presenting some other source that counters it. I feel that the lack of some opposing view makes his argument subject to confirmation bias. We are agreeing to information that confirms what we want to believe.
